You did the right thing by ordering that new part.
I always say to use what you have, so I’m going to use this grease that I use on my farm tractor for this electric motor. L O L. I love it!
No need for a wheel puller, I use basically the same technique. Very educational, I never knew the 221 had the same engine as the 2026. I think the 1668 might be similar too.
221, 2026, 1668, 1666 (maybe even the 224)all have the same motor BUT, as seen with the rear truck mount in this video, not everything is a straight swap.
Extract the pickup plate with a small frame spreader.
That would certainly make the job much easier. Can you share a link to where we might find one? I'm sure a few folks here would be interested.
I use a set of reverse snap ring pliers to spread a motor apart. It’s worked well for me anyway. Use a set with fixed tips and not those cheapo multi-tip things.
Doing well Maestro, and you've got a LOT more patience than I do, let me tell you!
Are you considering a repaint of the boiler shell? It's got enough wear and paint loss that, in my opinion anyway, it wouldn't be a mortal sin to do so.
Thanks for watching, Wayne. I have thought about painting it. As you pointed out, the shell is in lousy shape so I wouldn't feel bad sprucing it up a bit.
@@warrenmuzakpostwarguy4331 I'd say go for it Warren, you're resurrecting that 221 for your son so you might as well give it a first-rate paint job that he'll enjoy for the next 50+ years.
Say, I went looking for part #1, and couldn't find it? What is the title of part #1? 🤔
I had it labeled badly. I re-titled it. Its here: ruclips.net/video/QcyayWRsDGE/видео.html
