Thank Brian! I lover this dripper! I've been using this for a few weeks now. I haven't messed with the different screens and I rarely pay attention to grind size. The only thing that I touch is the valve. I wasn't even going to buy the dripper, but I was on the Sworksdesign website and it was in stock. I am so glad that I bought one. It's an amazing dripper! My only complaint has been I wish the markings were a little clear. They're hard to see at times. Now if we can get one in conical form! :)
Yeah the markings on the recent one are a little clearer but I've just been getting a feel for how much to open up now that I don't even look at the markings that much. I'm usually going closed to full open, and sometimes almost even unscrewing the top to make sure i'm getting the fastest flow/to speed things up even more.
I'm jealous how they are in a position to do all these experiments with drippers. For myself I am the only specialty coffee enthusiast in my family/friend group. Wish the best of luck to you.
Looks like a great dripper. Seeing how it works I would probably prefer this design over the plethora of drippers I own. You can also save your coffee the way you did with any dripper out there. Just remove it from your cup and set it on something else, then add a pinch of water to your brew.
Just tried the Brian recipe after getting the dripper in the mail today. I just did a pretty coarse grind, and water temp at 197 deg F for a slightly darker tasting decaf roast from Onyx. Pretty enjoyable cup compared to what I've been doing recently otherwise. I look forward to receiving the negotiator to make the recipe work more ideally!
Gotta wait for Kimoi to release it into the world somewhere lol. Maybe we'll check out the screens on a future stream since we can side by side them more
Great video! Could you guys make a video about single dose drippers for something like 12-15g doses? I like to brew lower doses but I think most drippers and recipes are for 18g and more.
I actually uploaded a 6g Deep 27 vid if you wanna check that out. At a later date I might do more of the single cup drippers since that is what I mainly brew nowadays.
grabbed one during the last restock; where can we get that negotiator? Been using an orea one and isnt quite right. Glad you posted this ive been stumblin and bumblin through my process and getting pretty decent results. I was actually using the screen that is all open with three metal beams, should have considered the capillary action! good tip will try it out. I also like to control all flow with the valve at the bottom.
Gotta see when Kimoi wants to release it to the world. Follow his IG for updates on it! I find the larger surface area to have higher flowrate and that will theoretically give you the "most" control but I can totally see the other screens doing really well for more contact time/body etc.
Thanks for the comparison of brewing coffees and techniques. Brian, what coffee were you brewing from Sey? They currently only have a few coffees on their site. Thanks again.

I have both the Sworksdesign Dripper and new Orea V4 and the Orea V4 is MUCH better!! The Orea V4 has 4 different flow control bases to choose from btw-4 different flow rates of your choice.
Yeah the V4 is great! I haven't had a chance to play with it much but the initial brews I've had are quite promising. I think the sworks is more flexible in maximizing potential body/immersion taste with the valve so you get significantly more control.
They are both extremely different drippers. You can’t really say one is better than the other, it’s all personal preference or perhaps your mood one day vs another.
gud dripper

I would make fun of them for being nerds but I usually brew a cup before lightsaber practice so...
Very interesting. Works similar to Orea V4 but is made in higher build quality it seems, These screens look high quality at least.

Put me down for the negotiator! lol the Orea one doesn’t work as well. I’d love to see additional content on the extra screens, etc.
Gotta wait for Kimoi to release it into the world somewhere lol. Maybe we'll check out the screens on a future stream since we can side by side them more

@@BrianQuan thanks! Did you also tried lower doses on espresso? The Sworks step down billet basket seems interesting, did you tested the basket?
Does the plastic in the dripper contain BPAs? was very sad when I found out both the April brewer and Orea brewers are NOT BPA free..

This looks like such a cool dripper actually I'm gonna get one when I can!
hopefully sheldon restocks soon cause I think you'll really like this dripper!
I gotta give it a try, yeah thanks for sharing about it!@@BrianQuan

This was the L1 Lugmapata Sidra! Very explosive coffee.
What is that 12v fridge in the back? I’m looking for one if you have some real world feedback/recommendations.

have you tried any sibarist paper that could fit well?
I’m jealous. Have been looking for one of these but it’s always sold out. Just added myself to the notification list.
Gotta get your wallet ready otherwise they'll all be gone!
Without steeping, how do you compare the taste profile against OREA V3/V4?
They're all fairly close in that fast flow flat bottom world imo
BQ on Moonwake bar when?
only if you show up
So is your valve fully open after your 30s bloom for the remaining pours?
Yep for my recipe!
@@BrianQuan do you let the bloom phase drain completely before starting the next pour?
@@IamMotionMedia Yes or almost nearly drained before I hit it with the higher agitation
Does anyone know if those filters fit in an orea or april?
Yes! They work really well. Very fast flowing, clog way less, and rigid too.
They fit the small orea nicely
@@BrianQuan thanks Brian, I can at least order the filters while I wait for the brewer to come back in stock
@@BrianQuan Are they better than the April filters?
How do you like this brewer vs the pulsar?
Already answered in the vid!
What papers are those, are those sworks ones non woven papers?
Those are the Sworks papers designed for the dripper.
sworks filters! they're great and work well in a all of the smaller flat bottom drippers
I have both the Sworksdesign Dripper and new Orea V4 and the Orea V4 is MUCH better!! The Orea V4 has 4 different flow control bases to choose from btw-4 different flow rates of your choice.
but you can't adjust flow rate during the pour. not like you can change the base mid brew.....

I really appreciate these videos but man you gotta keep the camera steady.
This camera is on a gimbal don't know how much steadier it can get
another answer in search of a question?
it's fun and also makes good coffee so why not?
Another plastic dripper?! What's the point? Like, Umm I'm so enjoying my coffee, especially knowing that it's flavored with cancerogens.. 🤦♂
Sometimes i wish there was plastic filters instead of paper so i can get extra plastics in my cup 😋 #plasticmaxxing #foreverchemicals #ilovecoffee
