Colchester Zoo Trip - (June 2017)

On Saturday the 24th of June I visited Colchester Zoo!
Colchester Zoo is a large zoo with some rare animals that you would not usually see in other zoos such as Amur leopards and tigers, spotted hyenas and maneless zebras!
When visiting the zoo, you also get the opportunity to feed the African elephants and giraffes for free multiple times a day. However, I don't like how the giraffes are always shut in and never seem to be let outside into their large enclosure. This seems to be because the zoo is constantly allowing people to feed them so in my opinion they should be fed once a day not three times.
Also I like how you can feed the elephants but in my opinion the keepers are too 'hands on' with them. Telling them to do all of these things so they can 'check' them seems like they are doing it for sort of a show because other zoos can easily do health checks on the elephants through the fence by training them to lift their feet or open their mouths.
But I kind of think that that the zoo just wants to thoroughly check the elephants so it doesn't really take down the overall score that I give the zoo in the end.
Most of the enclosures are a good size and a lot of the animals look happy and relaxed.
However the African lion enclosure is for too small and really needs and upgrade.
Despite some small enclosures, the facilities are good such as the 'Kingdom Of The Wild' complex!

I want to go to see the Sun Bears. Our country simply does not have enough zoos with bears of any species.

Yes they have only two sun bears there and they were rescued as babies and now they are fully grown siblings they have an outdoor and inside enclosure and the outside one has been upgraded and is now huge

I would like to raise money 💰 to help lion enclosure make it bigger because the pantimic is not the animals fault the best zoo and it said too lose the zoo but if I got a say my local zoo will not get shutdown 10 out off 10 zookeeper are awesome 😉
