    I think a great spin on your channel would be to buy older appliances that maybe dont work or do but then you show us how to do a refurbishment of them. I personally would love to see videos like that and i could buy older items or perhaps pick them up for free and bring new life back to them

      Thanks for sharing the idea, I really like it! 👍 I was wondering if people would be interested in that because I watched a channel that fixed appliances and it wasn’t a how to, he started off having no idea what was wrong with the machine and you followed the process… cheers, Phil

      @NowFixit I think it would be great. And as a channel, I think it would really take off with Time.

    Hi, Our Bosch packed up on Monday afternoon. It displayed an F 21 error and, having watched your video, it's now working again and has completed two wash cycles! It really was easy to do. The biggest problem was man handling the machine itself in a tight space. The actual removal of the motor and replacing the brushes was a doddle. Many thanks for doing your video.

    Fantastic video !!...I watched a few on YT first, but I found yours the easiest to follow.I am forever grateful for your detailed step-by-step tutorial. Ordered the carbon brushes for £8 from Amazon, and saved a good £400 for the new Bosh washer. My daughter and I spent 3 hours on this, and didn't even have the correct tools (had to run to the shop in the middle of this job to get the spanner)..But,3 hours later my washer is running again!!.. I feel so proud, thank you !!

    Absolutely fantastic!!! Thank you so much!
    For the sake of a pair of carbon brushes (£8.30) and an hour and a half of time (could have been quicker, but I didn't have a ratchet spanner!), it's saved us having to get a new machine which is what one guy had suggested I do when I told him the problem ... "it's not worth fixing mate, it's already 10 years old, it'll cost more than it's worth!".
    Your instructions and steps in the video were all so clear and unambiguous ... top marks!
    Thank you again.

      Good work getting it sorted! It’s a little bit more technical than the average diy… yeah, ratchet spanner is a nice little luxury that I treated myself to! 😁 cheers, Phil

    I just had this error following a power cut whilst the machine was running. The reset steps at the end appear to have sorted it. Thank you.

    This is a fantastic video and was the only reason I was able to fix my bosch machine. I did however have to do a couple of extra steps before mine was fully working which is worth mentioning in case others need the same
    1.) I had to vacuum out some carbon debris from where the brushes go, to help the brushes fit/ contact properly.
    2.) It didnt spin up to fast speeds straight away after fixing. I had to run a couple of empty spin cycles followed by a handful of partial loads 3 or 4kg to get the brushes to bed in before it started spinning at full pace

    Thank you, great advice, subbing to channel. Unfortunately, it didn't work with the Bosch washing machine my client has; the door wouldn't open, not sure what I can do about it. Any ideas? Thank you in advance!

    • @NowFixit
      @NowFixit  6 месяцев назад

      Sorry it didn’t sort your problem! Great to have you as a subscriber 👍 I’ve had a door that won’t open before and I used some strong string to open the door. Basically, I forced the string past the door seal nearest the latch and then holding one end in my left hand and the other end in my right hand, I pulled it tight so that it pulled the latch / hook inside the door. Sorry, really hard to explain but I bet there are a few videos on it on RUclips. I haven’t done one yet… Cheers, Phil

    Hi, great video i have managed to change the carbon brushes but the machine sounds more whirring now. Is this normal? Cheers

    • @NowFixit
      @NowFixit  2 месяца назад

      Not normally, it usually sounds exactly the same as it used to run. I know it’s a pain but maybe pop the side back off and make sure no wires etc are touching moving parts. Cheers, Phil

    • @jamesoates6309
      @jamesoates6309 2 месяца назад +1

      @NowFixit cheers Phil, I popped the motor back out and I had fitted one of the brushes the wrong way! Doh!
      The brush had started filing down on the opposite side to the angle so i sanded it back to the correct angle and refitted the right way.
      My 20nyeaar old bosh machine is now running great and much quieter!
      Thanks again for this excellent and useful video!
      Cheers

      @@jamesoates6309 ah ha! Well done thinking of checking the brushes again It's easy to get wrong, when I was filming I was like "which way was the motor mounted" and "which way were the brushes in, I need to get this right for the viewers!" So filming makes you double check everything (but things sometimes still do go wrong!) lol!

    Brilliant video ! I don´t have the F21 code (yet) but I know what to do when I do,it incredible how worn down the carbon brushes are, do you know or have an average life span for them? we use our machine about 3 or 4 times a week ,it is Bosch and about 4 years old ,best regards

    • @NowFixit
      @NowFixit  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hi @derek-press glad you liked the vid! 👍😎 Usually the machines are pretty old by the time the brushes go. I would estimate 7-8yrs. So make sure you keep the video in your "saved list" 😂 Cheers, Phil
