Thanksgiving 2019 vs Cowboys 4th and 1 at about midfield and Josh pushes through the Cowboys line with a defender hanging off his back was the moment I realized he wanted to be great and that he was our franchise quarterback. That was an incredible day as a 38 year Bills fan 😊
Good interview. BBB grading in my view is B+. Nailed the QB pick, changed the franchise direction & created an atmosphere within the NFL to draw players. Playing within the system to maintain a competitive team each year.

We won't truly know until after this season, but I think Beanes philosophy of getting younger so Josh will feel more of the leader he's ment to be is GENIUS!!
They're not actively trying to get younger so Josh can feel more of a leader. It's just a happenstance of them getting younger.

Casual sit down with GM Beane! Nice job! This is going to be a great year for the Bills and Buffalo Plus!
Best show ever. Brandon has been an A in recent years. Initially, he did 95% of his FA shopping from one store (Carolina Panthers) and got very little from it. Even the trade for Kelvin Benjamin didn’t yield good results. He’s redeemed himself. However, they didn’t bring in good DL depth until this year. Wish that hadn’t taken so long. The playoff losses were mostly because the DL under performed (and Stephon Diggs didn’t show up either). Lastly, it’s still a revolving door at LG and other OL positions took too long to find quality players.

Congratulations on the Get, Buff Plus Fam. Niiiice feather! Beane: Solid B+. He's picked some great FAs, and had "enough" solid hits in the draft, managed the cap like a wizard, wheeled and dealed with older vets, still respected in the building and around the league. About a championship, "From Mike's mouth to God's ears" Haha!
I would extend Josh next year, they are taking the Diggs cap hit this year.

It sort of was mentioned, but Josh either watched the film “Second String” or he’s a guy in the mold of Dan Heller who led by example by having late night practices, learned how to direct his left tackle to be the best, worked with the running back to learn how to cut back, etc. Josh is that guy now and he does it without even being prompted or asking “hey can we do that?”. It’s no surprise how well the offense is doing in camp, they all got together after they found out who they were going to be (a very underrated point btw) and got to know each other and work out.
As for when to do this - Josh got ripped for going right out after the season was over to do golfing and people said “he should be working on ”. As soon as he knew who was drafted on offense, they got invited and only THEN did they do it. If they did it any earlier, could either not have certain players or do it with released players. That is next level timing to know when to do that and it’s showing up in camp daily.
Dan - take the L
As for Beane - I would give him a B- as early on some trades and signings didn’t work out (Kelvin Benjamin and Vontae Davis in particular). But the last 3 years the guy has been $.
Love the backdrop setting. You should try to do this more often with different guests.

Beane is second best GM the Bills have ever had (10/10), second only to the great Bill Polian. He will be tied for best (in my little mind), when we reach the super bowl this year! Go Bills!
Grade Beane however you want but I billieve he’s trying his best and is very creative with the cap!
God pittsford is Soo nice in the summer. They have some beautiful houses there too.I lived there until I was 9 but been in Las Vegas for 30+ now and my grandmother had lived there until she passed last year. I visited for camp the year TO was here and remember his first practice when he made that splash catch in double coverage down the middle and the crowd at fisher went crazy. Btw, the Backyard looks beautiful Mike. Go bills! ❤💙

Great interview. Many of the playoff failures are on coaching not the GM. Given that the draft is 50-50 and the cap impacts signings, he is at the least B+/A-

Keeping Cody Ford and letting Wyatt Teller leave was one of his few mistakes. He should’ve drafted wide receivers in previous drafts instead of focusing on so many defensive linemen. Overall I would give him a B especially for JA17 and his great late round finds. Wish we would’ve gotten Puka Nacua instead of picking Justin Shorter just a few picks before. Hindsight is always 20/20 tho, great interview! Love the podcast

@@Chudley716 he hit on Dalton, Dawson, Khalil and maybe Keon. James Cook is pretty good at receiving. Free agents have been pretty solid.
