    Pretty amazing technology there. Must be nice to just make the tool in house instead of waiting for ups to deliver lol.

    I just got into programming, setting up, and running grinders. Luckily we have Walter’s too. I love watching these videos, and the cutting strategies. Very cool.

    Hi Chris, nicely done.
    I am very curious in what material the mill will cut and how the tool performs 😊

    You can save a bunch of time by starting with a 4-flute endmill and just grinding out the clearance grooves between teeth. Then you'd have a multi-slot helical cutter...BOOM!

    Cool video. Small remark: at 9:02 and the following 10 seconds, there's a repeat of a piece of the audio. The same is said twice in a row

    How come there is no filet or chamfer at the bottom of the tool between the shank diameter and the first ground clearance, fracture point at that area ?

  • @edwinwitten2316
    @edwinwitten2316 11 дней назад +1

    Why no Helix , it cuts much smoother.
    You could have grind the entire profile with 1a1 wheel , it would not have cost more time when would optimize the feedrates.
    I'm doing this kind of tools every day for over 30 years with walter , Anca , Rollomatic & schutte.
    But i love the Tyrolite grinding wheels.

    Not a bad cutter if you were machining brass, then a 0 degree helix would be ideal.

      @christophervillalpando1815 I was under the impression that you need much higher SFM like 6000 for grinding Tungsten Carbide. What is the "Feed rate or DOC" when doing thr roughing?

    Stagger your cuttting flutes at 45 or 60
    Carbide will bend or break
    You might get one pat, but will you get 500 from the same tool?
