The spirit of the Lawd was DEF in the room that day when they recorded that! Tasha Cobbs has another one with a white brotha who sings lead with Tasha....its so beautiful...but I cry everytime I hear it.....I would lovvvvvvve to hear react you other Clark Sisters ...like Keirra's, Auntie Twinkie(back in the day tho circa 70-late 80s) or her Momma(Karen clark) or maybe Walter Hawkins....or better yet! You gotta remember something as well as I know you know because you have spoken on it before and that’s the soul & “texture” that is Gospel music. It’s not gonna be “technically” perfect because of what often goes into singing Gospel & in reality it sounded PERFECT under “Gospel Terms” TOP to BOTTOM!!! I am not a vocal coach but have great ears for music. ALSO, trust me JUST because I am a fan of Tasha means nothing to my statement. I have critiqued my absolute favorite artists’ vocal performances 🤷🏽♀️ #ISaidWhatISaid ☝🏽😐
sxm76 I also want to add I wasn’t “mad” either at her OPINION (all be it usually informed). I just simply stated mine that’s all 🤷🏽♀️ I even put a “lol” after I said my first statement because I’m really not trippin’. What I’ve actually found is that even Vocal Trainers have a bias in their ears that’s all. It’s not to say Tara doesn’t love and enjoy Gospel music because I can tell she does. It is to say you might hear a note or run and critique it because it’s not vocally preferable based on w.e. Again, I listened back because when Tara points out things I RESPECTFULLY take it in to account to see if I can hear it too. There has been times where I might agree and others where I’m like...hunh? 🤔 Nonetheless u would like to agree with her more because SHE is the vocally trained here by all accounts that we know of which is fine. ☺️

Ann not necessarily. People who didn’t grow up going to black churches don’t tend to know a lot of Gospel artists. My pastor is white and I was SHOCKED that he’d never heard of CeCe Winans (or any of The Winans for that matter). People like that would be more familiar with worship singers like Michael W. Smith, Darlene Zchech and Hillsong, Don Moen, etc. I’m sure Tara is the same. She has mentioned many times that she loves worship music. But just because she’s not familiar with Gospel artists doesn’t mean that she can’t appreciate the style.
