It’s an absolutely amazing vehicle. Get a manual. Unless you are 90% track. I am now 90% street. Lol. I will have track video of this car and lay down some fast laps at VIR. But I use my Lexus IS500 to torture for that. I never owned a car to enjoy. I’m going to actually enjoy this one. Not just destroy. Lol.

Thisis an amazing review. I am currently selling my Gen 1 GTS and will be looking for a Manual 991.2 GT3 just like this. This is the best owner's experience video I have seen. Thank you. I will be back later if I do.

That fluttering/rattling sound you hear at 29:09 is characteristic of the solid valve lifter cars...lots of top-end noise. Does the gear lever move forward/back slightly when in 4th gear and during throttle tip-in and release?

Does not. But these still have shift cables. I wish it had proper solid shift rods. But I’ll give it to them. The cables feel good.

It doesn’t do that. I remember that from the direct linkage cars from 60s,70s,80s,90s. I even drove a 996 Cup Car (early version) that had rods instead of cables and it felt much better. The GT3 cables feel pretty darn ok. The Motorsport cables feel better. But nothing like the sequential cup car gearbox with the gear whining transaxle. The noise is intoxicating. I coached a fella in a 991 Cup Car that was absolutely exhilarating. I didn’t want to get out after I barely wedged myself in. Lol

Fantastic review! Concur with everything you say😊I recently got a PDK and it really is a phenomenal machine. My love affair started with a friend of my father’s white 911 SC. They get under your skin!

16:00 thats NOT the “wheel sliding”. In fact it is the opposite, it is wheels NOT sliding due to Traction control interference. The exact same thing happened to my in my “mid engined” cayman gts when I tried to do some drifting. It isn’t a 911 thing, it is a Porsche Stability Systems thing.

You could not be more incorrect. It is not PSM that you are hearing or I am explaining to my audience. Take Porsche out of the equation. It is simple understeer you are hearing. Front tires losing grip. PSM does a great job but will not do you much good with understeer. It focuses on oversteer and traction mainly. I do not drive with PSM on at all on track. I switch it completely off so I can be in control as much as possible. I do not recommend this to everyone, especially on the street. - A Cayman will not understeer as bad as a 911. It is actually quite neutral. The Cayman is also a bit harder to get the rear of the tail to come out as it is very balanced. When it does spin though it acts much worse than a 911 during the spin. Like a spinning a top since the engine is near center.
