@@alexw.e.1390 it works trust me. I was running 11 range like that 5 months ago and probably 95% of my runs have been like that sub 150HR and now same runs are right on 9min pace. It’s been extra fun and helpful for me to follow along on this one as you’re about one month ahead of me in doing my first big race! Ironman 70.3 Benton Harbor, inspired by you almost two years ago now. I was just getting into running when a friend showed me your video doing an Ironman in your mothers honor. I had lost my best friend a few years prior and was so moved by your video I decided to buy a bike and learn to swim to complete a triathlon in his honor. Now it’s the 5 year anniversary and I’m ready to level up to IronMan in his memory! Finding myself and pushing myself in endurance sports gave me the purpose I so badly needed in my life, so thank you for the inspiration to go one more.
Just wanted to remind you how big of an impact you have on your viewers man, you’re setting a great example. Much love. Tear that Buffalo race up 💪🏼💪🏼

I have a 50K in October. I’ve never run an official race in my life. I’m 26 years old and I’ve been a climber for about 6 years. Climbed V10 boulder /5.13c lead. Then one day 2 months ago my A1 pulley tore and I couldn’t climb anymore so I thought I’d do something while i went through active recovery. I’ve never really taken running seriously before 2 months ago. My first day out I ran 4 miles. And the next time out I did a 10K and then 8 miles the next week. So between watching Goggins/Jocko and these running videos I ultimately decided to challenge myself with my first official race being an ultra. It’s going to be the Perpetua Coast 50K in Oregon. I’m honestly surprised how quickly I’ve been able to increase weekly mileage while still feeling solid with no tweaking anywhere from over exertion. Only 2 months in and I’m doing 35-40 miles a week with 10-16mile long runs at a 7’55 pace. I haven’t even thought about climbing anymore. My pulley could be fine but I’m too busy planning my run workouts 😂. Anyways all of that was just to say thanks man for the inspiration. Never would I have ever thought I’d enjoy running as much as I do now.

during the sets of your 18 mile workout, what is the relevance to your race pace? ex. My Target race pace is 6:52/mi, what would my set paces look like?

It seemed like he was running race pace for most miles in this workout. Then would slow down every few miles

Besides the gels what do you drink during your run? Plain water or G1M? How many scoops?

Not sure if you’ve already covered this in your videos, but what sunblock do you use for your face? It hurts the eye a lot when my sunblock drips down with my sweat down to my eyes while running.
