    Absolute best and easiest way to clean the stove door soot is, a baby wipe and dip it in the ash. Then buff up with scrunched up newspaper. "Proper job" 👍

    May I suggest you add refractory brick splits on the floor of your burn chamber also? The reason being that the floor of these stoves is the first part to burn through because of the intense heat. As you were working on your re-build, I did notice some steel degradation already in the area of the cast iron grate cutout. 👍 Cheers!

    Amazing refurbishment of your wood stove, the fire looks terrific! Taking us along with you as you worked step by step makes me feel brave enough to at least clean one when i have to. I certainly feel like i can identify what bits do what and how they fit together... this is certain to come in handy some time. Looking forward to learning how to connect radiators with you next year👍🏼. And to admiring the newly tiled "plinth".
    Grow well, onion army. Hi, piglets, Carisaa & Iwan, Dioggo, Frankie, grazing Gilmore, Quentin, Sarah 👋🏼. Glad you had help for pipe-protective wall project 👍🏼.
    No worries with the length of today's episode, it's been lovely. Bunny🐈 came over for a post breakfast cuddle, and she's been having a warm nap on Meowma this chilly day.
    I always thought Ang's eyes a beautiful color to get lost in, but today i only just noticed yours are, too, Nick. Don't get too notice this as the sun often has you squinting or you're eyes are crinkled from giggling. 😄
    Great loot from pals, Luise, Mark & Jane, Louise & John, Pauline & sis, Tony & Tracy, and the hand truck gifters❣ All so kind 🤗.
    Here's a question from left field: Was Boris' name inspired by the very short cartoon spy character clad icompletely in black attire from The Rocky Squirrel & Bullwinkle Moose Show? If so, do you have an animal named Natasha? She wouldn't have to be all black as she could be like Natasha the Avenger (Marvel Comics) who often had red hair and different colored skin suits aside from her iconic black. 😁
    Tchau!

    top tip, when cutting holes with hole cutters, make life easier by first scoring the outline with your drill bit, then drilling a small hole (5mm) somewhere on the circular outline, then continue to use the hole cutter bit and you will get the job done in half the time because the swarf has somewhere to go instead of impeding your drill bit :)

  • @ianmacky4682
    @ianmacky4682 11 месяцев назад +1

    I fear if you use the stove for this winter with no water in the back boiler, by the time you come to plum it in it will be destorted and possible split! It would be better removed until you are ready to plumb it in. I have seen back boilers temporarily packed with sand if the boiler can't be removed to help dissipate the heat. Always enjoy following you, keep up the good work.

    Hi I come from near the black country in the Midlands and we use a (black lead) creme you can get it in tubes or a tub and you rub it thickly on your stove leave it to dry then buff it up it gives the stove a lovely finish it stops all rust, it will last a month or 2 even longer depending on how much you use the stove, you will have to look it up online for a brand name. You won't ever need to paint it again.
    Oh and if you can find bigger fire bricks or are able to stack them higher up the inside of the stove I would suggest it as 1 brick high won't give much protection to the stove also they help keep the stove hotter longer. Hope these suggestions help.

    Hi Nick Why didnt you attach boiler on the back of the stove without reducing space inside and no drilling holes? Still as you know is enough good conductor to heat water through back wall . cheers Dariusz
