      Thanks for watching and sharing your comments and toy haul updates! I wasn't sure if I was even interested in collecting the Turtles of Grayskull line after I saw some of the early images when they were announced. But once I finally got a few figures in hand and reviewed them, I now look forward to getting more! I think it's a good mix for the Origins, and the figures look really cool up close👍

    Another top notch review! I love the translucent green!!! So sharp! The flocked and this moss man have been home runs!!! This whole turtles of grayskull line is well done and creative. I love the thinking outside the box character design and storyline. The problem is, like most collectors, I don't have the $ or space to buy them all. Ugh. I will have to pick and chose. Who have been your two favorite from this line? Keep up the great reviews! Your attention to detail is second to none. By the way I loved how you broke moss man all down to show how he's assembled. Take care and thanks!

      Thanks so much for taking the time as always to check out the reviews and leave your thoughts! Yeah I find myself becoming more opened minded with newer figures in the Origins line. I really like this new look for a Mutant Mossman in the Turtles of Grayskull line. I also am running out of room and I have to watch money as well. I'm glad you like the part that I broke the figure completely down. I felt it would be interesting to show that with the Translucent details with this Mossman!

    This guy looks pretty cool. Love the head sculpt even though it does look like the Wolfman lol. It’s a busy looking figure because of all of the accessories and the way you can swap the Venus fly trap is pretty awesome.
    It’s crazy that there’s been two Mossman releases and Walmart gets them both. It’s like they have the rights to Mossman or something lol.
    I love the vein effects on the upper body and upper arms, looks pretty dope. And the feet look so cool. My initial plan was to skip this figure, but if I happen to come across it (which will kind of be impossible because I live in Canada and we don’t get these Walmart exclusives), I’ll probably get one just because it looks so cool and different.

      Thanks for checking out the review bro as always! Yeah, they did an amazing job with this figure and accessories. It's very annoying that both Mossman figures are exclusives. Sometimes, places like BBTS and Amazon get exclusives after a while in stock. Or there is always Ebay after a while. You just have to look for the best deal with shipping. It's funny that the head looks like Wolf Man a bit. The over design, accessories, and packaging are incredible for this figure. That fly trap part is really creepy and unique. Hopefully, you can get this figure at some point online. That's always the best way. Sometimes 👍

    Interesting to see more brand new parts for this line. Love it or hate it, Turtles of the Universe haven't just been lazy repaints (looking at you Snake-men line)
    I'm gonna pick one of these up and try colour matching/flocking that head and feet for regular Moss-man. Those hands might go to Skeletor.
    Not overly fussed for it as it's own figure (like a lot of the ToG line) but the parts are all amazing for customising.
    Your review has sold me on this figure.

    • @Themanchlid
      @Themanchlid  3 месяца назад +1

      Thanks for stopping in to check out the reviews as always! Yeah.i think Mattel has been putting a great deal of new parts and attention to this Turtles of Grayskull line. Of course, they will reuse as many already tooled Origins parts as they can, where it make sense for looks and costs savings. I think it also makes sense to use certain Origins parts on some of these figures to make them feel like they belong in the Origins line and could have been part of the vintage line in the 80s if Turtles was around then.
      The hands and feet are different parts. I think they are also gonna be on the Origins stranger things demogorgan figure coming soon.
      You can always paint, flock, or modify these parts, as you mentioned, if you know how to do that for customs. I think the Turtles of Grayskull like has been very impressive so far and put out some really cool figures to add to the Origins line and Masters of the Universe story! I look forward to more. I'm glad you also like some of these figures and this new Mutant Mossman because of what you saw in this review.👍

    If you want Mossmans flytrap mouth to be eating somoene you could just put the head and a arm in the closed mouth and pose them so it looks like they are reaching out in desperation to escape rather than the whole figure for balance issues.

    • @Themanchlid
      @Themanchlid  3 месяца назад

      Yeah, of course you can. I kind of showed that set up with Leonardo. I just wanted to see if the articulation can hold another figure in the air. The fly trap by itself throws my figure off balance anyway. It's not really a practical accessorie for balance. But with a stand or certain poses with another figure like you mentioned. Then it can work and look cool. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts 👌

  • @FandomEntanglement
    @FandomEntanglement 2 месяца назад +1

    I’ll be honest, I feel somewhat indifferent about this figure. I mean, he does look really cool, but it feels like there’s almost too much going on with it. I like the translucent green and the tentacles, and the Venus flytrap attachment is cool in theory, but it doesn’t seem very practical. I’m also not sure how I feel about the purple vine armor and arm guards. As you showed, the figure really gets weighed down with all of the accessories. The Masterverse Moss Man had the same problem with the vines extending out from his arm. They definitely went all out on making Moss Man feel like a mutant, that’s for sure. But it sort of feels like they only halfway thought out how practical the figure would be with all of those extras.
    And you mentioned that you felt Mouse-Jaw was just “okay.” I actually really like that one (only ToG figure I have so far). Combining Trap Jaw with Mouser technology is such a perfect combination, I’m surprised it took someone this long to come up with it! To each their own, I suppose.
    I’ll still get the mutated Moss Man figure, I just wish it didn’t feel quite so “clunky.” I already get worried that the normal Origins figures will break if I pull off the hands, feet, heads, etc. too often. If the pegs are even more fragile when they’re translucent, I can’t see myself really attaching and removing a lot of these accessories to Moss Man. Great review as always!
    ~Damon

    • @Themanchlid
      @Themanchlid  2 месяца назад +1

      Hey Damon, Thanks for getting around to check out this Mutant Mossman review and sharing your thoughts. I can see this version of Mossman being very mixed with collectors of the TOG line. I have read many mixed comments on his overall design. Most people like that translucent green effect but feel there is a lot of stuff going on, and it makes him look heavy or too bulky, as you kind of mentioned. I have to use a figure stand to hold mine up because he will not stand with all the full effects on. I personally like the creepy Mutant look for this design. But it's definitely not practical and completely different from the Iconic Mossman character we all grew up with! If it wasn't part of the TOG line as a slime pit, mutant Version as the story shows for the Heroic mutated conversions of the main characters like He-man ,Ram Man, and now this Mossman goes, Then it just wouldn't work right. So, at this point, I can almost accept and expect any strange look of the vintage inspired characters being Mutanted in this Turtles of Greyskull series. I did, actually like the Mouse jaw figure. But I felt it didn't have enough change to be worth the cost. It's just a repaint figure with one mouser figure. But it's still interesting for the series.
      Maybe once you get this New Mossman in hand, maybe your son or yourself will like the new design as it's very appealing to the eye!👍

      I'm not sure if that was Mattels intention when sculpting the head, or they took inspiration off that wolf man design. Hello Manchild! How are you? Still reviewing the TOG Origins? I'm frustrated: We got f* by Mattel with limited country ordering restrictions for Rokkon. In May when he get shipped, we try to get one cheap from resellers. Do you need Mossmans? :o)))

      Hello again! Yeah, I'm still buying and reviewing turtles stuff. It's the most popular thing out here alone with Masterverse. I heard Mattel Creations is having a problem with international shipping now, and they are working on the issue at the moment. They canceled Rokkon originally because of that but decided to go ahead a week later so they didn't cancel the preorder again. I read a release online that Mattel is trying to fix the issue, and they hope to have it done before the next same, which is Tuesday for the Masterverse Snout Spout at Creations and they hope to try another release of Rokkon down the road again. We will see, I guess. I really hope they fix this issue for you over seas collectors!

      @@Themanchlid I'm not sure about that, because 6-7 Countries did get the figure on the second try. All others not. For Example: If you are in Switzerland or Austria (like me) you're f*cked even with VPN it showed you "sold out". Thats not international (like mattel lie*d on f*cebook) - its limited countries -> even for long time creation buyers like us (we could buy/order every figure from our country in the past - if we are fast enough of course). Now look at the Ebay prices and cry. I will never touch another Line (Turtles, Cartoon Collection) if i am not getting the rest of the basic core figures - i'm not stup*id - this will happen again.

      @@Themanchlid This Monday i could buy 8 Boxes (1 Box 4 Figures) of Wave 1 TOG and 2 Boxes of Mouse-Jaw (it think 3 Figures per box). 2 Boxes of Cartoon Collection Man-At-Arms. 2 Boxes of She-Ra (Fan Favourite).
      Guess what i have bought? 1x She-Ra.
      This are my Smyth Connections, they are waiting for me. The sad thing is that i'm not interested in other stuff anymore. Waiting for Zodac and maybe the 2 Snake Men (Lord Grasp, Terroar).

      @iliasfog8857 Interesting to know! Yeah, many people are walking away from the line for those reasons. I don't blame them. It's getting pricey for me, too. I haven't been overly aggressive chasing figures lately.

      @iliasfog8857 Yeah, only buy and support what you can afford or like the most. I also walk away from certain figures if I don't care for them.

      @Themanchlid  2 месяца назад

      It depends on which figures are they Walmarts or Target Exclusives. This mutated Mossman is a Walmart Exclusive as of now. I got him online. Most of the Origins are hit or miss even finding them in stores. Thanks for watching and sharing your comments 👍

      Just depends bro. You gotta be hopeful your WalMart gets any. There's like 7 to 10 flocked MossMans still at my WalMart on clearance for $20 each.

      @Themanchlid  3 месяца назад +1

      @williamrandall9502 Yeah, I'm not sure if they would ever invest in the license to do that. I'm surprised they got rights to the Turtles license. I can, of some other lines, that would also be cool for Origins like Thundercats, for example!

      @@Themanchlid one thing I would really love is Origins styled DC Primal Age figures. Mattel needs to get the DC license and remake that entire line, it was awesome!

    • @Themanchlid
      @Themanchlid  3 месяца назад

      @williamrandall9502 I never collected those. But I'm familiar with the Primal Age figures. Again! It's all about the license, and if Mattel wanted to spend the royalties and fees to try to make a line like that. DC might also not want to sell parts of the license.

    I HATE the translucent parts. When I get this guy he's going to be painted solid & flocked like my Masterverse versions.

      I honestly like the translucent effects for the Mutant guys. But they are easy to paint with acrylic paints if you can.

      It looks like the Origins Beastman arm as far as the length from what I can tell. The hands are definitely larger. But I'll take another look with this figure compared to the regular Beastman without any flocking for curiosity. Thanks for watching and sharing your comments 👍
