If you want a cheap raid farm build a villager box over the overworld portal in the end, then build a chimney and kill chamber in the spot where items and mobs reappear
looking at the spawn mechanics of the outpost i built the same thing but wider out of grass blocks. illagers will spawn day or night regardless of light level on grassblocks in that spawning zone so i just built a retaining wall for all the illagers being pushed to the water stream and bob's your uncle done. works great i have hundreds of ominous bottles! potions of invisibility will def help with the spawn proofing. just turn everything to path blocks. incredibly easy.
I also took a break from watching Wattles too, and I had to watch the tour episode of the Minecraft Guide to catch up on it, and also watch the 1.21 breakdown to know what's new in the update after not catching up on snapshots.
For those who are curious, the rates are around 20 Ominous Bottles per Hour. Using the exact design showcased in the video with 5 layers and the iron golem, I did two 9 hour afk sessions. 1 with the iron golem and 1 without. 1st Test: 174 2nd Test : 166 For most casual settings, yes this is enough. However, if you are trying to power your raid farm, 5-15 of these 5 layer farms would be needed.
Seconded, it got me 19-20 per hour on multiple tests and tried out different afk spots to make sure no other mobs came into the spawn/despawn sphere. Also worth noting after like 5-6 modules, anything higher doesn’t add anything, even afking at y-200 nothing spawns there. Rates did go up to about 32-36 an hour by adding another horizontal module but it’s rly not worth adding more given the rates other farms produce imo. Gonna have to destroy this and redo :( think the whole water stream mechanic slows the whole process down compared to other builds where pillagers are literally running to an instant death on loop
Awesome video! It definitely worked well but I have one thing to ask. How far was your render distance set to? I changed the distance a few times to see the difference and it seemed that it worked the best when it was set to around 11 chunks. But it should be changed depends on the afk base height so I'd like to ask about it just in case.
This is really cool but I feel like you could very easily just remove all the walls from the outpost and use the 4 floors in the outpost as your spawning platforms.
This looks really cool. Reminds me a bit of a witch farm. Will the old raid farms run as normal as long as you have these ominous bottles? Are they splash bottles or can you turn them into splash bottles? Thanks Wattles!

Been teaching our child how to play MC for a few years now and setup farms for visual referencing in a shared world. Not done a raid farm yet and sorry to bother you with a another question but is it possible to combine the two farms please? I am just thinking, if you have to be at a pillager post anyway, can you not redirect the bottles back up to the afk platform and have the raid farm on top with the villagers? Seeing as it is just us, we are not needing big drops. Anyway thanks again for your time and take care!

Possible, but I don't recommend building an area above this farm due to all the Pillagers are going to start spawning there instead of spawning in the farm. Mobs spawning are looked at starting from the build height limit and their availability for spawning. It checks every layer of each loaded chunk. So, if you're trying to have a mob farm on ground level, but have a platform above the farm (in the same chunk) with the spawning blocks making up the platform. Then, mobs will spawn up there more than your actual farm.
I just want to say that I'm not certain of this and just going on old knowledge. Can someone who's great with Redstone or the Game mechanics fact check me?
This worked though some pillagers get stuck and jump on the corners there is always one that just gets stuck lol😂😂😂 also some just jump on the corners preventing them from dropping down
If you guys are out of range from any hostile mobs that you need for other farms, might as well go into peaceful to make the building process either. No point in extra stress imo
@@wattlesplays I also got a got a Ghast spawn spot in my froglight farm and it’s big enough that Ghasts spawn in it but can’t move, so they die from the powered snow blocks, and I get gunpowder and Ghast tears from my Froglight farm. 🤣

Hi there, I recently made the switch from bedrock to Java so some mechanics I dont understand. Can someone explain when you're AFK in the air why the pillagers spawn much more frequently as opposed to staying closer to the ground ?
farm is good, but the pillagers spawn and just stay in place...i´m thinking maybe buildingo some kind of clock to activate the floors, or just put iron golem or villagers in front of the floors...like we do on some slime farms
Can you make your kill chamber higher and makes your platforms higher up? And then just go up 128 to not need to spawn proof? Like have the kill chamber above the floor?
@@ucouldtell3326 the pillagers have a spawn zone , I think it's 72 blocks wide and 72 blocks high so your kill chamber would be out of zone and the pillagers would just spawn on the ground , if you spawnproof the ground they would spawn in nearby caves or they wouldn't even spawn
When the pillagers spawn on the platform and touch the string, the trip wire hooks active the red stone line on the sides that turns the redstone torch on at the end. This then activates the redstone line along the trap doors at the back, opening them. When the string is cleared of mobs, it turns off the signal.
This is a pretty bad farm, please if you're considering making this try a different farm. If you put an Iron golem in the center and make a trap under him all pillagers will attack him and fall in then get killed by campfires, I think soul campfires are faster but I have not fact checked. Then go 128 blocks above your kill chamber and afk there. This requires a lot less spawn proofing and the one I threw together gets ~250 potions per hour.
On bedrock edition, it is way easier to farm pillagers because they have specific spawning spots inside of the outpost, check out one of silentwisperer's videos about raid farms for more infos
This farm is so ineffective and difficult to build compared to other omnious bottle farms.. I mean look at his way of spawnproofing instead of using torches

Java and Bedrock differences are just insane. In BR you can spaw proof your outpost in 30 seconds and make a farm in less than 10 minutes.

sadly no splash option but raid farms will work like normal if you have the bottles!

I play Bedrock and I accidentally built my hostile mob farm in a spot with a Pillager Patrol spawn spot, so I get them from my farm. 😂

mental note for everyone this dosent work on bedrock because the trapdoors gets water logged and the water just passes through them.
