- Mike is back to torture the gang with random VHS tapes from a dumpster. This time he's got a new and even more pointless gimmick! Pick a raffle ball to select a tape? Why? Cause these 40 year-old white dudes are emotionally stunted man-children with nothing else to do with their time.
When I worked at Wendy’s we had to watch a video telling us what to do in case of a robbery. The first step was to try to prevent the robbery by “providing excellent customer service”
Wendy’s must get robbed a lot then, huh?

@@benitolugo473 a lot of places tell workers to do this with the idea that good customer service means you're more aware of your surroundings, which in theory deters theft because a potential robber decides it's not worth it. whether that works or not who knows

Dang I was trained to just give them the cash very calmly cuz a few hundred bucks isn't worth their trouble having a dead employee and maybe a lawsuit.
Which is just what I did when it happened, and then the manager was mad and the cops seemed suspicious asking me what happened because I was slow and calm despite that being the exact training given. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Black Spine Raffle is maybe the most pointless, gimmicky thing they've done on the show, and I think there should be at least 45 episodes of it.
Truly is the gift that keeps on…. Well it just keeps on, and occasionally gives. But I want more episodes

I think the logic behind restocking shelves is that if the shelves are half-empty the robber will figure you've sold a lot of stuff today so you've got cash in the register.

As a former employee of a convenience store, the reason why they tell you to keep the shelves stocked and the floor mopped is because when you present a store that is nice and well-kept it is supposed to keep away the Riff Raff somehow.
I can see what they're trying to do..I went into a dollar tree the other day; I walked out, the store was filty, and I thought,I'm gonna get murdered here.

That Milton Berle "just pull out enough to win" story is older than dirt and was originally about Frank Sinatra, not Bruce Willis. It at least goes back to the 60s.
In his autobiography, Berle attributed it to Jackie Gleason, and said it was "maybe the funniest spontaneous line I've ever heard."
The version I read was about Berle Vs. Forrest Tucker (another reportedly massive schlong), with George Burns saying the line.

It’s gonna be great slowly watching Mike turn into the very old person he loves to make fun of.
I can't get enough of the bit right at the beginning where Mike goes oh ho ho whilst gesturing with his hands at the set up of the tapes. It's such a brilliant bit of comedic art- the self aware awkwardness balanced by the sadness of having pride in the set up collection of shitty tapes. Subtle and wonderfully done.
The man is an absolute professional, and quite genius 👏
If Mike wasn't a sadist, RLM videos wouldn't be nearly as interesting.

I believe the reason why the video on the gun robbery mentions the tip to always keep the store neat and tidy w/ stocked shelves, is based off the broken windows theory. The theory is that ppl are more likely to commit crimes in places that look dilapitated (buildings with broken windows). So if you keep things looking nice, it shows ppl care for the environment, and won't ruin it/ commit crimes.

I really like the progression of the gimmicks. First it was a way to freshen up the watching experience for the crew, and now it's just a way for Mike to force everyone else to watch abysmal tapes.
Mike is really dedicated to this. I highly doubt they had that ball spinner lying around. Every dollar spent is one less dollar for booze...Mike making the tough decisions.

One a friend of mine from Oregon was up visiting (in WA), and she couldn’t get over how terrible the customer service was here. She was at a gas station, and the attendant ignored her when she pulled up. She waved at him but he just looked at her, started filling up the customer’s vehicle parked in front of her, then walked away. She didn’t know what to do and after a few minutes, the attendant came back; but when she rolled down her window to talk to him (visibly annoyed), he continued to ignore her, and instead of filling up her car, he got in the other customer’s car and drove off! She was so pissed she didn’t get gas (didn’t want to give them her business) and just drove back to my house.
Context: in Oregon you can’t pump your own gas, but in every other state you do.
I looked up Mike Maxwell and he was still producing magic TRICK DVD’s up until 2019 when he DIED OF A HEART ATTACK
