Yes! I’m currently refurbishing my SE/30 that sat neglected in the attic for over 20 years. What a beautiful, classic design!

I bought the Mac SE with 2 floppy drives, because that was I all could afford at the time even with a generous student discount. I mailed ordered a 105 MB hard drive for $600 the next year to upgrade the computer on my own. That Mac SE got me through numerous term papers and even a masters thesis 7 years later. It had the best software for writing foreign characters and scientific notations.

My wife once had an SE/40 that she got from a surplus auction at Lawrence Livermore Labs. It was a custom model made by Apple for Lawrence with a 68040 inside.
She didn't have system discs for it though so she ended up selling it.

Wonderful computer, PITA to work on. Buying the weird tools to open the case. Being careful not to zap myself on the residual CRT power. Installing weird internal cards to drive weird external monitors like the (wonderful) Radius Full Page Display. Always bloody knuckles at the end.
My trusty but unmodified SE/30 flew cross-country several times for business trips. Always impressed people when I unzipped the case, pulled it out, and plugged it in.

My very first Mac. Still have it in the closet of my sons old bedroom. Haven’t even booted it up since the early 2000’s but I just can’t part with it.

Oooh. :) That first expandable classic Mac. I loved it and its design. It was so powerful at the time...

Steven, I love Mac power users. I think you are a fantastic podcaster, but cheer up man. You are discussing your absolute passion🤣

Probably my all time favourite Mac. My SE/30 was a powerhouse in its day. I used one with an onboard hard drive and MS Word 5.1 to write my Masters thesis.

I managed to snag one off of Craigslist for cheap. I need to replace a few capacitors on the analog board to get the CRT cleaned up, but it’s otherwise in awesome shape and a significant piece of Mac history indeed.

Thank you for the video. I still own my first SE/20. It was the first computer I worked on. It was very expensiv at the time but also very modern. Would you know what the market price is for a working SE/20?

An aside. My friend in Auckland has a fully functional SE/30 but it hasn’t got an original period keyboard or mouse. Can you still source these items? Any ideas from where? Thanks in advance if you can help.

You can find a lot of ADB peripherals on eBay. Sometimes they come with old computers... :-)

Just found my mom’s old one of these in my basement. I hadn’t been opened for 20 years!
