Don’t look back and have regrets love, I am now 43 and I was diagnosed at 28 with a chronic back condition, I’ve got multiple disc degeneration, I’ve got slipped and bulged discs, all in my lower lumbar, I’ve got degenerative spine disease, arthritis of the spine that’s travelling around the rest of my body now, sadly and I’ve also got fibromyalgia, I used to be a care nurse here in the uk, my life took a spiral as I had problems growing up, and I ended up a heroin addict for about 5 years, I have it all up and met someone, who I’m still with and married to, he knows about my past, we had 3 biological kids together and we fostered my cousins son, (he had a bad relationship with his bio mum) I wouldn’t of had kids if I would of known how bad I was, as I said above I wasn’t diagnosed till I was 28, I had my first at 23, then 24 then 25, as time went on, I started getting bad, now I’m really bad, I used to love doing cleaning, so the hoards I would absolutely LOVE! What I’m trying to say, and I know I am waffling 😂, is u are young, u seem like a good person, yes I too am someone who wears there emotion on their sleeve, so I couldn’t do hospice, I would be crying with the family, BUT u seem like someone who wants to help others and make a difference in someone’s life, I think as long as u r healthy and don’t have any problems with ur bones etc etc, I think u should go for it, make the most out of life, I wish I did more, now I can’t, I feel like u have a LOT of potential, life is short, make ur stamp on this world, and don’t hold back, life is but a fleeting moment ❤😊❤😊❤
I used to see that & feel the same way watching a guy named Shay in Detroit who rehabs houses there & rents them for investors - many of them foreign. Detroit USED to be such a beautiful city filled with businesses & neighborhoods of houses of such quality & pride of every level of income from lower to high income families. Now you see house after house that once was a familie's pride & joy totally ruined & disrespected. Sad sad situation indeed.

A Kentucky college sweatshirt, some Hello Kitty stuff, even joking around with the sex toys, it's a reminder a person lived there, and suffered there. What is frightening for me when I watch these as a person with Depression is how subtle the shift can be from feeling like you're hanging on & start to make progress by sorting into stuff into piles, to feeling overwhelmed & stuck by finding you have more piles of stuff than you had before you tried to tidy up, to being unable to decide where or how to begin to at least show some progress, to Just Knowing it won't make a difference anyway & decide not to start at all.
I have been following for over a year and the fridge clean out was the 1st time I have gagged while watching these. Did 4 years in cleaning my self, Kudos to you and your iron stomach .
Decomps are usually fairly contained. Hoarding is in every nook and cranny. Plus there's pests/bugs, spoiled food, and feces (animal and human)......much grossness.

I always saw a squatter as breaking the law and they are! .There is no such thing as having a "polite and courteous" squatter, but I mean, why destroy and vandalize the house more? Why go in drink and just leave the water running. That's just mean!
I always thought the same but this situation makes me scratch my head, never heard of squatters breaking in and cleaning it like that. To be honest they kept it pretty well kept.. more then the owner I should say. Usually with squatters I see drug paraphernalia, a huge mess and massive damage to the property most of this damage is the owners doing unfortunately
Squatters are something. Some of them actually improve the property but not many. In some jurisdictions squatters if they improved and fixed up a broken abandoned place, they're entitled to it.

My exs mom had a bedroom with no furniture that at one point had close to 30 cats in it and she couldn't change the litter box often enough so she just let them use the bathroom on the floor of that room. She kept them in the room 24/7. One of her relatives got animal control involved. I wound up cleaning that room out several years later. Cat shit everywhere and in places over 2 feet deep. Found 3 mummified cats. Had to take all the flooring out and replace it and the drywall had to come out about 4 feet high. Just the shit took me like 6 of those big gray trash cans. Thank god I had a good respirator.

I discovered this show yesterday by accident and have already binged watched season 1,2 and 3, Now I'm working on the entire 72 episode list. After watching these stories makes me want to work for Spaulding Decon. Ya'll are having soo much fun. Of course you would have to, to stay sane after some of the stuff you see. Fiona cracks me up, her personality is so much like mine. Thad is a very cool and funny guy, while G is slightly crazy (in a good way).

I always saw a squatter as breaking the law and they are! .There is no such thing as having a "polite and courteous" squatter, but I mean, why destroy and vandalize the house more? Why go in drink and just leave the water running. That's just mean!
I always thought the same but this situation makes me scratch my head, never heard of squatters breaking in and cleaning it like that. To be honest they kept it pretty well kept.. more then the owner I should say. Usually with squatters I see drug paraphernalia, a huge mess and massive damage to the property most of this damage is the owners doing unfortunately
Squatters are something. Some of them actually improve the property but not many. In some jurisdictions squatters if they improved and fixed up a broken abandoned place, they're entitled to it.

My exs mom had a bedroom with no furniture that at one point had close to 30 cats in it and she couldn't change the litter box often enough so she just let them use the bathroom on the floor of that room. She kept them in the room 24/7. One of her relatives got animal control involved. I wound up cleaning that room out several years later. Cat shit everywhere and in places over 2 feet deep. Found 3 mummified cats. Had to take all the flooring out and replace it and the drywall had to come out about 4 feet high. Just the shit took me like 6 of those big gray trash cans. Thank god I had a good respirator.
