-Thank you David...!!!! -I'm going to end up buying a course from you on Udemy, I'm studying there to take the exam in about 2 months and I really liked your explanations. -I'm an electronics and automation technician and I worked for almost two decades in flight protection, but the last 10 years were basically on networks and servers, but always kind of blocked me from accessing Cisco admin knowledge, so I focused a lot on creation and maintenance of Linux servers but I never had the interest in taking the certification tests, and even programming servers of the most diverse protocols, creating IOT to monitor our systems I focused on practice and pratical projects not on the certifications and I see that I was deeply wrong. -Now I am wanting to immigrate to Canada and the simplest way is a job in IT, I was going to do the Linux certification but after watching his videos and Chuck I realized that a strong base in Cisco is the beginning for everything. -Therefore I will do the CCNA not the CENT, because I am looking for a vacancy in a datacenter, and then I must do either the CompTia Linux + or LPIC-1 and the VMware certification to then apply for a vacancy in a data center in Canada, although I also I should try placements in the USA and England. -Thank you so much for the knowledge.
Those skills you have are great. Just build on them and get certs so you can open doors. CCNA / Linux / Python / Cloud are all great skills. Sounds like your programming skills are really going to help you as programming becomes more and more important.
@@davidbombal -I work with switches and networks for almost 2 decades but my big mistake was that I just worked but I wasn't sure. -Then, for example, the synchronization system with an NTP server that interface all the networks of the different systems. -At that time I did this with a 2 xeon server because I only knew Linux in depth, but nowadays I think that a simple Cisco router or at most a firewall, if I had studied for CCNA at the time would have been much easier. -Other day I commented on linkedin that in 2012 I made a Nagios monitoring I needed two xeon servers one with the system and the other with the database, apart from the workstations with dual NIC to be the network probes, now a Raspberry Pi can install server and network probes in a single board for 40 US dollars, and this alias made me wonder if Cisco will end up doing a CCNP IOT certification, or if Microsoft separated CompTia Linux+ from LPIC because they have now integrated the kernel into their operating system and if the certification path will follow that line as well. -My basic area is electronics and automation, I basically programmed microcontrollers normally in C ++ such as arduino, PIC, etc. .. for example to read hardware or electronic systems or sensors in the equipment that I took care of remotely over the network or via modem, like remote air navigation systens, or radars, etc... -But now I realize that CCNA is the base of this kind of develop because it teaches a lot of the skill can help in everything else, I want to be Datacenter Admin son as possible, but I realize that for that the minimum is CCNA, CompTia Linux or LPIC-1 and a language for automation tasks in both and this language clearly seems to be Python. -So as Python does not have an org that certifies so my path will be CCNA, then CompuTia Linux, and then Python, and Virtualization for the minimum and Cloud and Security before that. -After all, unfortunately the companies to hire a foreign want the diploma or certification to prove their knowledge, and as I want to immigrate from Brazil to Canada, companies only hire having at least two certifications, even more because they have to compensate for the expense to hire foreigners with the work visa then, relocation and etc, unfortunately the certifications are vital in my case, and for very one. -Thank you so much for You and Chuck for taking the free courses to help us, I'm a fan of the videos, thank you so much !!!
Thank you sincerely. It hrlps people who are under financial stress. Looking forward to become somone knowledgeable like you and give back to the community

-After all, unfortunately the companies to hire a
foreign want the diploma or certification to prove their knowledge, and as I want to immigrate from Brazil to Canada, companies only hire having at least two certifications, even more because they have to compensate for the expense to hire foreigners with the work visa then, relocation and etc, unfortunately the certifications are vital in my case, and for very one.
-Thank you so much for You and Chuck for taking the free courses to help us, I'm a fan of the videos, thank you so much !!!
Thanks to you and Chuck for keeping us motivated!

Learning and understanding the OSI-layers is at least half of all basic IT exams.
I'll be covering the OSI / TCP/IP model in upcoming videos.
Happy to watching and learning from u sir..Thx so much from Indonesia
I been studying for it for a while, I even have the new books. But the past few months have been just hard was forced to leave a good paying job so i wouldn't get sick with the virus and now have a job that pays half of my last job. I will start studying and practice more PT labs while i watch your videos and i will get my CCNA in October.
Really sorry to hear that Jeffrey! Times are really tough for so many people :( Don't give up. There are so many stories of people who have improved their lives through certifications.
@@davidbombal I will now that i am motivated again and back to studying. I do have a question, Next Fall semester i want to transfer to my University. Right now i am studying Computer Systems Information & Networking at my community college. I want to go more on the Security side. My University only has Computer Engineering or Computer Systems Information Technology. What Degree plan do you think will benefit me better. i would like to go for my masters also after my bachelors. Any advise would be appreciated.
Much love and respect, David
Just purchased both study guides and this will put me in the right direction Thanks David!
David you are the best..
Thanks again David. What a world we are living. Free CCNA course.
Make the most of the opportunities we have today :)
Wow. sounds as though they've made it so easy now. I got CCNA R&S in 2013 as well as CCNA Security in 2016 and there were simulations, vague questions and "choose all that apply" questions. Took me 3 or 4 attempts to pass R&S. Sadly I didn't get very far at all in the networking field and gave it up for many years. Now that I'm getting back into cyber security I'm excited to watch your CCNA course to see what has changed and how much I remember :P
I am currently studying for my ccna
Past the linux lpi last month.
Wow, this is amazing. I love yours and Chuck's channel, this is genuinely terrific.

Thank you David. Every day a new start.
Do that Sergio and you can change your life in amazing ways.
👍🏼❤️ I wished I had this in 2009 when I struggled with CCNA 1 and 2
When I did CCNA it was broken up as CCNA 1 to CCNA 4. I had to do both multiple choice and a practical on actual routers and switches. Things have changed a lot.
Quite motivating and inspiring! Prepping for my ccna exam, I need all the drive! 🙂
Can't wait to see what you got in store for us.. I've been studying the course with the new handbook, currently on Part II (Chpt - 4,5&6) I think and been looking for videos to guide me through the material. I hope I can link your content in line with the handbook..
Thanks for your effort David, highly appreciate you doing this.
Thank you Venessa!
I took CCNA course in 2013 and made ti to a final exam. but unfortunaly on that test i had 690 and needed 800 to pass. problem was acces-list configuration. packet tracer froze up and i could not do anything and the problem was when i close that simulation it will lock up the question. so after a couple of email here and there with cisco it was decided that i failed exam and had to take a new one. unfortunaly i was realy pissed and quit .. now when i got a taste of a life and a job market i am going in to take it once more and now hearing abouth that new stuff and all. i am really excited :)
yes, this is it. Its still not too late to be a CCNA certified
Good advices to start. I want to thank you for that. Now, as you said, we must begin and get better in a daily basis with constant learning.

Hi David,
Thank you very much for giving to others what you process naturally as a 'teacher', the ease of such personality is extremely calming and easy to stay engaged.
Sorry to bother but I am hoping to get a real answer vs. marketing answer:
What would you recommend Cisco modeling lab or Boson Exsim to study for CCNA 200-301?
