Today I learned: Subaru is good at reading and understanding English. I got the feeling that this is also reason Why she stumbles when speaking, strangely enough: she's notices her own mistakes causing her to pause.
I'm really impressed with how quickly Subaru picks up on some specific references, but also manages to translate them on the fly into Japanese and contextualize them.
at around 33:54 Subaru starts saying something about the sound being dangerous, same later on at 35:03 ; and then at the museum retro room ( 42:15 ) she starts saying "here is really really dangerous!" Pekora was also pretty worried, especially when she got to the "spirit forme" scene is japanese copyright law so bad, that even just with these obvious parodies inside another game, the stream could get copystruck?
Technically yes, because japan did not have fair use laws in place to protect but it's a huge grey area where no one really cares but no one really want to risk it either. references and parodies really ended up being a taboo (that gintama, for example use this as an advantage)

Yet there is a certain threshold were censorships does come in to play. It's tricky. However your right Gintama takes it the the max and either makes fun of the Censorships or genuinely needs to heavily censor but make it part of the joke.
As someone who's had trouble finding things to be happy about for more than a decade, can I just say I am absolutely ecstatic that Subaru is playing this game? Even if some of the jokes go over her head, she seems to be having just an absolute blast playing it, and watching her enjoying it this much makes me that much happier.
