Yo I love it when my pokemon deck plays 15 1 ofs it's how you know it was built right
@@ussgordoncaptain rookie numbers we can get at least 8 more 1 ofs in there
@@OmniPoke Tord's gonna rock up to EUIC and play 60 1-ofs including 1 of every card upto PRE.
Fantastic report Joe. I will be at EUIC and would love to shake your hand in person if you get time.
The Miraidon into Arch matchup I've messed with is to play Future Booster + Zapdos to get your Amp to 130 with the option to FSS out a DTE and still be able to KO Duraladon. It's a thought at least and it's another tool. Who knows when Rotom V's attack will be useful...but it could come up late in the game.
Is Dragapult with Gholdengo a legitimate deck now, too? Or is that more of a Japan-only thing, because their format is different? (e.g. more Milotic or something)
It got a massive result is their champions league in this event, seems as though zardpult is taking down more wins that it right now
I'm liking Pult / Zard more and more just because I hate losing to Garde with the other Pult builds
Palkia / Dusknoir is underrated, might be nastiest Budew deck. When it pops off, games just end.
I played Palkia before and thought of trying it again. How many Budew is recommended? only using 1 seems risky but idk
I have two really good Garde players at locals and I think I’m gunna ride with Zard pult for a while
@Flewisjr i personally prefer double budew even tho only half the games i use it. It sucks being punished if it's prized. At least with stretcher, you can trash one going first instead of relying on finding heavy ball and sometimes you need the heavy ball for a squawk or fez, etc.
@@NightHawkExpress same, i have a really good garde player locally, too. 😏
@@frameandi okay, thanks!
How important do you think is Flutter Mane inclusion in Lugia? Is Iron Thorns still prevalent in the current format?
I’ve seen regidrago play powerglass as a card to counteract budew, would it be a consideration for those decks?
Good luck finding it early enough to have value. Also, you are leaving your attacker in the active to get KOd the next turn. The best play is to sit behind a Cleffa instead and try to cycle the deck.
What decks would you say would be a good play for Vancouver regionals? I have been testing garde and pidge control but not sure if those are good picks or not, with garde especially I am concerned about not finishing 3 games
Thoughts on Tomb in Gardy lists to help out slowing down Lugia/Zard/Don? I've still found Lugia tough if they set up at all and get Hands rolling, but not sure what to take out for it. I've swapped Budew out, but may need back in.
In my opinion, it's borderline essential right now.
@@jammjar8838 i think so, too. just not sure what's taking its place unless something like budew or cresselia, which also feel needed where the meta is peaking.
im going to merida regional, is my first regional, what would be a good deck for trying to get day 2? from the ones on the list im most confortable with miraidon and regidrago, gardevoir puts me to sleep and i cant seem to complete the 3 games in 50 mins with garde
Awesome to hear! I think both miraidon and drago can be good choices. Gotta figure out the extent regi has to adapt, if a more budew friendly list looks horrendous it’s probably generator time, good luck at the weekend 🙏
I’m attending EUIC, this is my first event! And I’ve been playing budew format since it was released and it was so hard to pick a deck, I was sold on Klawf/ Terapagos just because it’s so nice to win in a turn hahaha against the evo decks, but my coach told me I need to beat Gardevoir and I don’t really like the other decks, well I do like Miraidon and Tina but I’m scared of getting item locked. So I think I’m going with pult with some techs for Gardevoir, I’ve been playing pretty well with the deck and finding interesting dusknoir lines.
However, I keep struggling against Archaludon and Lugia if they set up on their second turn.
I had temple for the Lugia MU but I don’t feel it’s doing too much for me u.u
Can I say hi if I see you at the EUIC?
@@cleliaeuniceduartepastora5143 of course come say hi! I’m normally quite easy to spot 😅 I respect the coach being aware of a high profile matchup but I always preach being as comfortable and confident with your deck choice also
@@OmniPoke yeii! I will say hi then 😄
Thanks for the video! I love your content
Archaludon is favored into bolt and garde
Is it better to go second with the Zard Pult deck?
@@lxmercyxl9982 yes blind second is the play, with testing you may find some matchups to go first but generally we like to either evo or budew if possible!
Now with budew in the format, will Hydreigon have finally time to shine in this format? Love the vids btw, massive respect for the hard work! 🫶
Hydreigon suffers a lot from item lock :( dragapult can item lock and place relevant damage, pop disclops and board wipe your attackers
@cleliaeuniceduartepastora5143 i actually think grand tree hydreigon works though, not neo upper as the ace spec lol
@@totallynotarthur-6218 could be interesting! the only negative is giving a free ace spec to your opp
Gardy is def very unfavorable into Miraidon. It's like 70-80% Miraidon favored. Maybe Mawile to cheese them but if they play a cart that plan is bad, and sometimes you don't even have time to set it up and find one of your only 3 gust cards to bring up Latias. I kinda hate Gardy right now, too big of a target on its back.
@@DKong1026 I’ve tested the matchup a lot from both sides as those are two considerations for myself, gardi can do some great math to evade fez or setup for budew mid game KOs to deny generators and stop a flow of hands/raichu
I have the matchup as really close honestly
@OmniPoke interesting, the limitless data shows Miraidon at about a 60% win rate.
@@DKong1026 as with anything the data is usually just a guide: Gardevoir has so much agency that the pilots ability will greatly affect the outcome of games
Ancient box with munkis has the easiest time this format against every deck in this video except for lugia. Easily A tier right now. Unsure why it wasn’t mentioned.
@@TheJaminator the top 10 is based on their respective online performance so far in this meta, the deck is mentioned toward the end and I think there’s a general loathing of the engine but I fully recognise it’s great placement in the format right now!
which one of these decks is most like mega ray decks back in the day
Well the format is very different now and a lot of mechanics have changed but if you want a Pokemon that has a similar attack to mega rayquaza then play tetrapagos. It is similar in the fact that it does more damage for each of your benched Pokemon, and it has a stadium that lets you have more benched Pokemon
@ appreciate you brother!
I think Toxic Terapagos utilizes budew the best no other deck can boost the free item lock to an effective 80, KOing so many basics. I do find it runs out of steam in a lot of games so 🤷♂️
@@NightHawkExpress it’s a really interesting pick right now, I agree it’s mid-late can feel fragile but it’s great at exploiting status to dodge fezandipiti and ofc use budew brilliantly!
R.I.P. Zard Pidgeot?
Do you think Lugia is, despite all the hate it's getting, still a good pick for EUIC?
I honestly think it might be the single best pick. Miraidon is also incredibly well placed
@akaakaakaak5779 I hope so! I'm struggling with confidence in the deck even though I feel pretty much locked in already 😅
can someone explain how gholdengo is an unfavorable matchup against dragapult? When dragapult can easily set up a 4 prize turn because of 260 hp (pls help out a guy whose gone 0-6 against dragapults 😭)
@@kaheleon6657 try out the munkidori I mention in the video, as it can offset the 4 prize play and make for an easier KO that turn!
I miss chien-pao 😔
@@papercut4386 gigas is another cool attacker for the deck! Does struggle with budew though 😤
Conclusion:
✅ Gardevoir ex & Lugia are the safest picks.
✅ Dragapult & ArchLon have good tech options for adaptation.
⚠ Regidrago & Seruledge struggle against Budew & disruption.
⚠ Charizard Pidgeot seems to be declining in the meta.
Im a toxic pagos player and how tf do archaludon become very favorable mu? The max hit on pagos is 290, yes you can reach it with iron valliant or kieren or black belt but it is so complicated, beside duraludon can one hit budew with 1 energy
As you mention it’s not a matchup for budew in most cases, a Klawf swing is normally doing more for you- that was a standout in the data for me too with it previously being awkward but that’s what trainerhills telling me!
(A large number of non-dialga builds may be skewing the data in this case)
Gardevoir is gonna fall off unless we get another good kirlia post-rotation
@@EeveeShadowBacon certainly becomes a different deck post rotation, still has incredible 1 prize attackers though!
Joe. Play a Budew in Drago. Go 2nd.
Why do you say Math and not Maths Joe, you're British!
How does goldengo have a good match-up again ceruledge for isn't it weak to it?
Weakness isn’t everything! Gholdengo can represent 1 prize boards with manaphy going 2nd and going first it can do the same palkia shinanegans the ceruledge players try to pull to get ahead
If you’re at London brother I’ll have to catch you for a pint
I feel sad people don't take Flareon ex deck seriously
I have been playing and the deck is really good
if it was good itd be on the list
It's bad
@@NeroBlanc_ looking like flareons going to have a place post rotation when a few other decks get knocked down a peg
