I've got a 1050ti AMD equivalent GPU in my laptop, the RX 560x. I've gotten into the flow of setting up my games in a special way. I install the game, then install ReShade for the game. Content suggestion: 1) Take a Video card 2) Show the ideal CPU power needed to not bottleneck it 3) Show the best games that can be played with the card: Shooters @1080p100fps and 1440p100fps Adventure Games @1080p60 and @1440p60fps Strategy games City building Racing Competitive multiplayer games and so on... Don't make people cringe about what they can't play but show what they can indeed have fun with. Both the people that already have the card and the people who think about buying something used would profit from your content now as well as in the future. You can also make more video by releasing updates every year.
I use manually OCed 1050TI (just shy of getting 10% performance gain) in a HTPC build and can still hit 45-60fps in most AAA games at 1080p med/high setting. I have to fiddle a bit with settings, but it's a bloody good performer considering how power efficient it is. Sure RX 570 is 30% faster, BUT it also draws 300% more power.
When i was buying it in EU about 3 years ago it was either 1050ti or rx560. I bought it used, 3yrs warranty with 2yrs+ left, for about $160. Right now, cheapest new ones are for $200.
My 1050 ti paired with my i3 8100 and 16GB ddr4 works great 95% for what I do, blender and video editing a bit meh, but heaps better than when I’m on my 14 year old core 2 quad prebuilt with 2gb ddr2 running at no joke like 600mhz
I'm using the GTX 1050ti with a Ryzen 7 2700x processor with 16 GB of RAM. Works fairly well, however, in some intense titles such as Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and Genshin Impact I did notice some stutters every now and then
Sad story, bro. I would've bought the RX580 instead of the 1050Ti this year...If it existed where I live. :( There are no "budget" AMD cards here, never have been. And importing them isn't an option, much less a viable one.
I'm so glad I'm One of the Blessed lol. That can't tell the difference between 20 and 120 FPS (assuming it's consistent). 15FPS is really where I start to notice low FPS. Saves me $$$ on upgrading GPUs. Though, I'm here because I currently have a 1050ti and looking to upgrade and just trying to decide how much benefit I'd get going to a 1660 or 2060 for around $400. I also find it funny that most people seem to prefer 60FPS at 720p over 20-30FPS at 1080p. I'll take the 1080p any day. The resolution is something that REALLY bothers me when I have to reduce it... so I never do. I'll lower everything else but the resolution.
Have been running a 1050ti with i5-6400 and 16gb ram for a few years now, have been liking the energy bill mostly :p. Playing on a 1080p 144hz aoc 24g2 monitor. Older games reach 144 fps easily, making the higher refresh rate still a nice experience, and gsync compatible helps with those 1% lows. Looking to upgrade to a 3000-series in a year or two. Don't really need an upgrade except for gaming on the 4k tv downstairs, which I expect to be doing more often in the future.
I dont get why devs doesn't optimize as much their games. They should make the games to run on the most used gpu's, i know it has to do with nvidia putting his nose on every dev team they can so people buy the new gpu's, because if we look there are no graphical jump that acredits needing a 12 or more gb gpu. Just some sunlights and stuff, and to my knowledge shadowing and lightning is calculated by the cpu and later it says to the gpu where should be light and where shadows.
Looking at upgrading my PC now in 2022 and will be keeping my 1050 ti for now at least. Prices for GPU's are still ridiculous! Great content. Thank you.
1050ti was good enough for me last mining boom lol when I last used it before it got replaced with an RX580 it played all the casual games I play. Something amusing in the UK there is a company called CEX that buys second-hand hardware and games and its price for a GTX1050TI 4GB is more than an RX 580 4GB despite the 580 being 30% better
I haven't played pc games seriously for 8 years maybe, because my pc couldn't run the latest games decently... But then I bought a laptop with a 1050 Ti in 2019 and it seems like I have a lot of options x)
Yup. Set your games to 30fps in RTSS and half refresh rate in Nvidia Profile Inspector to get that smooth 30fps like console. RTSS can give you a stable 33.3ms and Nvidia Profile Inspector can give you a full half refresh rate (don't use the adaptive half refresh rate in nvidia settings). With 30fps cap, you can increase the game settings to medium-high. I don't expect this gpu to handle new games at 60fps.
I think a used 3400g would make a good content. Cheap, goes neck and neck with the 1030 and it can be found for less than 90$ Also 4000G series would be a food thing, since GPUs are far from getting cheap and available in near future. Also happy to help with the algorithm Have a good one
Recently bought a 1050 TI for my new pc build because it was the best card I could find at a sort of reasonable price ($189). Beggars can't be choosers in this crappy market. The GTX 1050 Ti never _was_ good in my opinion. It retailed for $140 MSRP, but it was always hard to find around that price, and went up against the RX 470 at $170. Not that long after launch, it was often priced very closely to the GTX 1060 3GB as well. For me it just never offered enough performance to be worth the asking price, similar to its successor the GTX 1650.
I bought a GTX 1050Ti just a few weeks ago here in the UK. I don't play games but wanted good 4k video playback. For that purpose the price/performance looked good and the GPU hits just 20% running in a 10 year old or so machine running an AMD Athlon CPU which only had a simple VGA card installed previously. As such, I'm more than happy with my purchase. "Is the GTX 1050 Ti Still Good in 2021?" is a very subjective question without specifying what you want it for.
Nice one, agree with you older games with this card. Hell even with 580 lol :D but the bare minimum is something like 480 4gb for this purpose.... Great one! And there you go a comment lol

Low Profile 1050ti was the only option you had for decent gaming performance in one of those really cheap Intel i5 SFF office PCs. Now you can get a 1650 low profile card.
Thanks for the video :-) I have a whole heap of 1050 and 1050ti for LAN builds and it’s fine for older stuff.. One point you missed though is the variety of settings the 1050ti is found in. You can get low profile, bus powered, pci powered OC and laptop. Some people can’t upgrade because they dont have pci power, or a full size case.
y'all are weird , tech youtubers need to stop pushing that : old cards are as good as shit narrative ; of course they will on new gens games , doesn't mean that they don't run them, the only thing tha really impact the game perfomances are the amount of vram in the graphic card, a 1050ti run most games , and moderately the online game ; stop making people feel bad about not having the last up to date graphic card; not everyone run bots or has 1200 sitting in a corners just for a graphic card.
i started out with a 1050ti. now own a 5700xt but that little single fan card got me through some tough times and funnily enough made me about 300 bucks in monero from mining in 2017.
Geforce Now is server based. I doesnt use your hardware. You can run all these games 1080p 60fps max on something as weak as a chromebook. Heck, you can play these PC games on your cell phone thanks to Geforce Now. Thats with raytracing.

Bought Asus Rog Strix OC GTX1050Ti in 2017 when I build my PC. Changed it for Sapphire Nitro + RX570 4GB in early 2018 when mining cards flood used market. It was quite capable card back than. Deffinetly good combo with Ryzen 3 1200 that replaced my PS4 and Xbox One S.
I would say if you're really wanting to play any AAA titles, especially newer stuff, hold out if you can, but equally scour any resell websites like eBay for anything newer at a reasonable price if you can find it. An RX 580/590 would be preferred, but if you can find even a GTX 1060, GTX 1660, RX 5500XT, or even swing it with a Ryzen 5 3400G Vega 11, do so, because until supply can meet demand, we're all screwed. Friend of mine was going to grab one of these years ago to upgrade from a GTX670. Hes a derp. Didn't even realize the RX570 was like... 30-40% faster for less money. I imagine a lot of people got similarly duped. People who don't look at benchmarks. They see "Ti" and assume it's zomg super fast pixels
For the algorithm. I ended up buying a rtx 3070 off of stock x this morning. I needed a little more power than my rtx 2070 could provide, but wasn't at the point where I'd fully bend over for a rtx 3080 or a 3090. Prices went up in the past week for even low end cards (my old 5500xt thicc is going for $500ish on Best buy right now -- wtf). I got what I got and I'll repurpose the 2070 to a plex machine down the line. It's overkill for that, but I'm not paying $500 for a low end card.
I can't recognize titles just by the minimal footage for most of the benchmarks. Please include timestamps or titles, going forward. Doom Eternal (obvious to me), AC Valhalla (needed the games in description to figure out), WatchDog Legions (could only guess without being sure, because I had seen this area in video before), CoD Cold War (Needed description), Cyberpunk 2077 (well, I'm playing it).
I'm trying to buy a low end graphics card for an arcade build that runs up to PS3/Xbox 360/GameCube etc and can't find anything. This card is the most popular card put there in the $100-$160 range
in germany the rx 580 4g (~280€ new) is more expensive than RX 5500 xt 4g (~210) it seems that people overlook the 5500 xt, i think it is a good enough upgrade over an 1050 ti around 80% faster edit : 1050 ti new is ~ 160€
Gamed in the 90s and stopped in 2002. Came back to gaming in 2017 during the height of the mining craze. I didnt know if I would like it as much as I did so no way I was spending 300 plus on a 1060 or 480. Even 470s were 250 give or take. Wanted a budget card for 150 to 200. I snagged a new 1050 ti for 139.99 from a local pc shop. I feel bad for those that got scammed into a 300 dollar 1060 6 gb or 480. Even a 250 470 was a rip off. Same story with my friends that got into gaming in 2017. Mining craze is what sold 1050 tis like hot cakes.
In 2017 the 1050ti was an ok card for AAA games in 1080p. But a year later I upgraded to an RX570 and performance was a lot better. Right now though I'm stuck with the same ol' Nitro+...
Until I buy newer 1440p 144hz monitor, i will stick with my trusted 1060 6gb. It can still run World of Tanks perfectly, and also Genshin Impact is locked 60 fps, so no problem.
I got my 1050Ti Strix at the start of 2017 and it was much better compared to the RX 470 (that was almost 100 USDs above here in Mexico). Before the GPU corona 2020 crisis I was thinking on getting a 8GB VRAM card like the Rx 580, GTX 1070, RTX 2060 Super, to be able to put games on High textures, but you all know what happened.
My GTX780 still beats the 1050Ti, bought it back in 2018 for $70 USED when it was 5 y.o, now 8 y.o and still kickin'. It rivals both the 1060 (3GB) and my brothers RX570 (4GB) for $230 NEW in 2019, which I'm happy to say I convinced him to buy over the 1050Ti.
If you're going to do a video like this you have to curve your expectations. The GTX 1050Ti was a great "entry-level" gaming GPU for about 3 years and that's really all you can ask for out of a $150 buck GPU. The only thing that killed this card was the launch of the GTX 1650 for only about $10 more and the drop in price of cards like the RX 400 and 500 series both new and used. Bottom line, the GTX 1050Ti did great for what it was and can still game at a reasonable level today. Plus, not everybody is using a 4k or 1440p TV or monitor. I played PS3 at my sister's house a few months ago on a 720p/ 40-inch TV and it was great for coach playing. Even a brand name 1080p does 720p just fine for a person that doesn't really have hang-ups about visuals. 720p really only looks like crap to me on a larger than 40-inch 4k display, other than that it's playable. Someone that brought a GTX 1050Ti for their main gaming PC is well aware of its limitations at this point in its life span. Lastly, if you have an older LG or Samsung or really any good 1080p display you will get better than last-gen gameplay and visuals out of a GTX 1050Ti even at 720p. My uncle has a 75-inch 4K LG and PS3 games look almost as good as the PS4 Pro on that TV. Now, you still have the limitations of the console or PC but visuals were not a problem.
I still have a 1050ti. I built my PC in 2017. I saved up for over a year to build a new beast. Then the chip shortage happened lol. I am just holding on to $2000 waiting for the prices to come back down to start my new build. The 1050ti still does really good though.
Trying to build a gaming rig for a friend and I just realise that there are no GPU available in the high or mid range in the whole UK. I never thought it was this bad.... I refuse to put a RX570 or a 1050ti in his system. He had a gaming laptop with a GTX1070 basically a RX580 desktop.
I will say I was happy I upgraded to my 5700xt in Sept. before the huge price hike, now my gpu is like 700 bucks.... Very thankfully I decided to get mine when i did, i snuck in just before. I have the 1050ti for my moms pc, it works great for all she does and some light gaming. For right now id say just hold tight on a GPU upgrade if you can, right now the market is kinda messed up.
Peeps, just wait for a couple of months. This is a pattern. Prolly better stock and prices in Q2 (and a ton of dirt cheap 1050ti's and rx570s on ebay) , and, hey, if not get outdoors when the weather's fine.
only bought this card because money only allowed me to buy me a sff pc that was pretty decent, bought the slim version and even without it running at full capacity due to pcu not being high enough, runs assassins creed origins very well, upgrading to a whole new unit very soon but going to keep the 1050 ti until prices become normal again due to it above expected performance, good shout on the levels though, keep to older games until can upgrade when the world hopefully returns to normal
i7-8750H 32GB DDR4 GTX 1060 as a laptop 1300€, one compromise: efficiency losses at game engine limits. Same, once this whole gpu mess is over i will be upgrading to a 3060 or older 2060/5600xt
I bought a lap top with a 1050ti 3 years ago and seeing this card struggling this much in modern titles is heart braking
I bought and ideapad on 2014 (gtx 860m) and it can run most modern games at 30 mid-low and some oddities like resident evil 3 at 60 fps high.
@@goa141no6 i have a laptop with a 1050ti i5 and 16gb ram....im doing fine
@@MADPAOFFICIAL As long as you stay on the 60 fps mid-low settings you will be fine. Personally I got tired and bought a Pre-Built PC for $1000 dollars a rx 5600 xt and a ryzen 3600 (an absolute rip-off) but I live in Mexico so around $350 dollars are on taxes and $100 on premium. Still way cheaper than buy every part separate.
Content suggestion:
1) Take a Video card
2) Show the ideal CPU power needed to not bottleneck it
3) Show the best games that can be played with the card:
Shooters @1080p100fps and 1440p100fps
Adventure Games @1080p60 and @1440p60fps
Strategy games
City building
Racing
Competitive multiplayer games
and so on...
Don't make people cringe about what they can't play but show what they can indeed have fun with.
Both the people that already have the card and the people who think about buying something used would profit from your content now as well as in the future.
You can also make more video by releasing updates every year.
Still have mine!...Replace with a 3070 but i play Warzone and stream with 1050ti with 60fps low/med settings...Warthunder in high 60fps
I can't believe we are back in this same situation again...holding my pascal cards for dear life in case one of them fails 😬
I know right, I've a 1070ti and a 1060 6gb in another PC I'm good for some time :)
I always had only shitty vid cards, now with the 1050ti I was able to play my fav games from the past at full settings like GTA 4...etc.
Had a GPU die on me last week so picked up a 2nd hand 1050 ti just to buy some time before upgrading becomes affordable again.
I sold my 1660ti because I wasn't using its power at all, and bought a cheap used 1050ti, I mostly just play older stuff on pc.
Thanks for doing this. In my price range 1050 ti is real all I can afford. If prices ever come down to normal I'll update.
Can the 1050ti work well with most games because alot of people are saying its outdated but im getting pc with the gtx 1050ti?
In the AC Valhalla benchmark it says GPU: RX 580 are you sure you used a GTX 1050TI for this game and for your other ones?
An RX 580 is way better than the 1050ti it’s at around the level of a 1650 super
Probably just using already-recorded footage
I'm using the GTX 1050ti with a Ryzen 7 2700x processor with 16 GB of RAM. Works fairly well, however, in some intense titles such as Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and Genshin Impact I did notice some stutters every now and then
Got a buddy who bought a 1050ti a year ago. I cried for him. I don't think he knew the rx580 existed.
I don't know, the 1050ti has some cuda tho...
I like your content veeeery much. Cheers from Poland! :D
Can the 1050ti work well with most games because alot of people are saying its outdated but im getting pc with the gtx 1050ti?
@@justjake9105 is ok for most games to pre 2020 sketchy on 2020 to 2021 games.

For the algorithm, good day people.
I have the zotac 1050ti mini, i5 9400f and 16gb ram. i’m very happy with it and it run games on either low or medium settings
Sorry yo break it to you bud your rig is ass cheeks
Cheap, goes neck and neck with the 1030 and it can be found for less than 90$
Also 4000G series would be a food thing, since GPUs are far from getting cheap and available in near future.
Also happy to help with the algorithm
Have a good one
Recently bought a 1050 TI for my new pc build because it was the best card I could find at a sort of reasonable price ($189). Beggars can't be choosers in this crappy market.
Fortunately I only play old single-player games (Skyrim and Dragon Age Inquisition), so I'm fine waiting 6 months or a year before looking to upgrade.
After months of trying to get an rtx 30.. and lost all hope of getting a 6800xt at fair price or at all, I’ve decided to stick with my 1660ti until prices level out OR wait for rtx 4000/rdna3.
i am at the same boat with my 1060 6gb i really want a 3060ti maybe even a simple 3060 when it comes out but with prices of 650+ euros on my country i will just wait it out really.
@@venix20 i've wanted a 3080 but with these ridiculous prices I think a 3070 makes more sense for my 1440p monitor. The 1660ti should get me though this yr then I want to upgrade to ultrawide, then buy the new GPU.
@@QuBitGaming i am on 1440 p my self with the 1060 at lease banerlord etc run good enough with a mix medium +high still i was planning to get a 2060s but the 30xx series was just 2-3 months away so i decided to wait it out ...in retrospect i should have brought a panic sold 2080ti for 500-550 the day nvidia announced the 3080 and 3070 :P
I’ve got an i7-2600 with 16gb ram, I mainly use my pc for software and production, I have this card just so that I still have the accessibility to play games so for me, I think it’s just fine
Okay, 1) FOR THE ALGORITHM! 2) I got curious, looked up what's available on Amazon, 1050ti for $330....
Thank you for this vid.. gtx 1650 were all out of stock here and in unreasonable prices due to demand.. and budget is really low...
i needed something to confirm 1050ti is still they a good gpu despite people saying otherwise.. this saved my brain thinking about it.
Love this.....not all videos have to end on a disney ending...every so often, a Rogue Squadron is perfectly great :)

last year got a gtx 1050ti for around70$ it's a gem
The GTX 1050 Ti never _was_ good in my opinion. It retailed for $140 MSRP, but it was always hard to find around that price, and went up against the RX 470 at $170. Not that long after launch, it was often priced very closely to the GTX 1060 3GB as well. For me it just never offered enough performance to be worth the asking price, similar to its successor the GTX 1650.
RX570: "You went frolicking off with a GTX1050ti, where did that take you? Back to me! Muhahahaha! " 😊
I'm building a budget gaming PC with a 1050 TI, Ryzen 5 2600, 16GB Ram, 1TB Samsung SSD, among alot of other parts including case, power supply, wifi adapter, sound card and it goes on and on. The total came out to about $950. I chose Amazon through pcpartpicker for all the parts because I have Amazon Prime. Let me know if you have any suggestions for this build or any questions. Thanks.
Low Profile 1050ti was the only option you had for decent gaming performance in one of those really cheap Intel i5 SFF office PCs. Now you can get a 1650 low profile card.
loving the music for your benchamrks... sounds like The Midnight....
Thanks for the video :-)
I have a whole heap of 1050 and 1050ti for LAN builds and it’s fine for older stuff..
720p is IMO a very underrated resolution as long as you aren't a graphics snob.
Making a budget build. Not for the most recent triple A games though. This was a useful video for working out the spec of my build.
i started out with a 1050ti. now own a 5700xt but that little single fan card got me through some tough times and funnily enough made me about 300 bucks in monero from mining in 2017.
you've got a great site. for reals. & that's not just for the algorithm. but I'm glad to big you up for the algorithm.
GeForce Now would be a good thing to try with this GPU for those tough games
Geforce Now is server based. I doesnt use your hardware. You can run all these games 1080p 60fps max on something as weak as a chromebook. Heck, you can play these PC games on your cell phone thanks to Geforce Now. Thats with raytracing.
This one goes out to the RUclips algorithm
Got my 1050ti just as or before the previous mining craze(2016) hit. My other newer GPU is busted.
Was just about to get a new 1, but I had some medical surgeries, & emergencies for myself & fam I had get through 1st when this new price hike hit. So, I'm going to make due until things calm.
I was prepared for the tariffs but not really everything else.
The Doom developers (iD Software?) probably should start licensing out their game engine, like Unity & Unreal.
Thank you for the video. Lots of good information.
If you like 720p and low settings sure it's still hobbling along.
lol I never got to upgrade from it so I’m still playing with medium at 1080p on older games like warthunder cs Minecraft that are older. It works but for new games I can imagine not too well, depending on cpu
Better low 720p than not playing at all 😜

Or just buy a console 2nd hand and actually play at settings and a res that are somewhat decent. Even the godawful xbox one basic is probably better. Ps4 or ps4 pro cheap is better than this gpu. At least they run at 1080p or 1440p plus with medium or better settings. Low settings on pc usually means no AO, laughable lods, piss poor shadows and makes the game look 15yrs old or worse. Even old xbox 360 games look better than low settings on games.
@@theoldpcgamer77 there's a case in that for sure. If you've already got the hardware though and no money for a used console it's still an option. Ps4s are still about £150/200 here used oddly about the same price as a new 1050ti lol. Depends what you're into aswell. Pc has a much bigger library by miles and a lot will be perfectly playable at good Res and settings on a 1050ti
@@deekdouglas3055
In todays gpu climate you can probably sell it to some desparate git for good money 🤣😂. Then go get a console. Yeah their are old games on pc but me personally i played those old games when they came out so i'm only looking at new games. I prefer to have good memories of old games than replay them. I loved my snes in the early 90's doesn't mean i want to play those games now, though they look far nicer than any earlier 3d games 🤢.
If you didn't buy a GPU back before the RTX 3000 and RX 6000 series launches, you were warned.
For the algorithm! Plus just bought one on ebay to upgrade from gtx 750 1gb. So interest video for me. Thanks.
Got a rx6800 today, (XFX)wanted the xt but you can simply not be picky in these times... Does not fit my PC Case 😖
6900 xt were also in stock.. but no 6800xt... this is scandinavia... so does theese turn up elsewhere ?

I imagine a lot of people got similarly duped. People who don't look at benchmarks. They see "Ti" and assume it's zomg super fast pixels
Good stuff. I'm a 1050 2GB owner and as you said, It can handle 3 years old AAA games

I gave the 1050 a hard pass back when I had been rocking my 750 ti for 2 years at that point. I'm glad I didn't cave when the Ti came out 😌
I can't recognize titles just by the minimal footage for most of the benchmarks.
You can play all the Ubisoft games on GeForce Now 1080p Max 60FPS with raytracing enabled. No GPU required.
I'm trying to buy a low end graphics card for an arcade build that runs up to PS3/Xbox 360/GameCube etc and can't find anything. This card is the most popular card put there in the $100-$160 range
in germany the rx 580 4g (~280€ new) is more expensive than RX 5500 xt 4g (~210) it seems that people overlook the 5500 xt, i think it is a good enough upgrade over an 1050 ti around 80% faster
edit : 1050 ti new is ~ 160€
Thanks for looking back at this card
"for the algorithm" here from the podcast. keep up the good work fellas.
Held tight to my 1060 6gb put it into the home PC and got 1070ti used before prices jumped :)
I sold 1050ti to someone who sold their 1080ti before the 3080 launch. Rough.
