Im interested to know how does it handle thick fabrics like fleece, denim, French Terry? Can you make a video showcasing such fabrics? Does it have automatic tension?
What additional feet do you recommend when sewing with a knit and want to feed in a stabilizer through the foot while serging? For example twill tape, clear elastic, or a ribbon on the shoulder seam? Also does it have a bias binding foot available for this model yet? I do own this serger.
There is a whole additional presser foot set available for this machine. Depending on the type of stabilizer you use, you may want to use a different foot, but they do have a piping foot and an elasticator foot that can make those processes a lot easier. There is a binder attachment available for the Bernette sergers, but it does require the serger to have coverstitch so it would only work on the Bernette B42 or the Bernette B48. Threading a four thread machine for a 3 thread overlock with a fusible thread in your lower looper helps tremendously with binding, however! Keep your eyes peeled for that in a Tip Tuesday soon.
Hello Rosemary! This machine is a 4 thread overlock machine, so it does not have the ability to do a coverstitch. Bernina and Pfaff have just put out air thread sergers that can do both, however!
Thank you for wonderful camera angles and your expertise.
Thank you for the compliment! We're happy to help.
Great video

Dang! I want one. But, I don't have the funds right now due to unemployment...... a beautiful machine and the air threading......
Can you use this for quilting for binding fabric?
Can I do a rolled hem for napkins?
Yes! A rolled hem on a serger used very often for napkins and bandanas.
no auto cut and auto threader?
This machine comes with a manual needle threader and a razor on the side of the machine to chain off and cut your threads.
