    There are loads of painting channels on RUclips, and I have been looking for the one for me. You were recommended to me, and I am really glad. It's what I've been looking for. I am looking forward to learning a lot from you on RUclips.

    This was a brilliant tutorial. I find your teaching style really easy to follow and it's great to have the tips for simple sketching, which still give an eye-catching result. Much more of the same please.

    Good tips to keep it simple and let the painting paint itself. The pen sketch gives it a clear design, which serves as a framework to create depth and textures in the painting. Subscribed!

    The Artistro box is great fun to play with. I've graduated to higher quality paints, but still use this on the go occasionally. When painting outside with the kids, I pull this out for them. When using regular brushes, you have to keep spraying the paints, they dry very quickly. A good starter set, very reasonably priced. It's a wonderful,way to get to know colours, their names, and how they play on the page.

    Brilliantly easy to follow, thanks. Was given this Artistro set as a gift and used it for a year wondering where to mix colours, following along today I discovered a little mini mixing well under the sponge!

    I really enjoyed this video, thank you. My problem is I try to make it look exactly like the drawing. Trying to get away from the perfect line is harder than I thought it would be! I love how you have the picture of what you're drawing on the screen too. Any suggestions on portion control? I have an issue with drawing large. Thank you!

      Thanks for the lovely comment!
      On portion control (great phrase btw 🤣) I suggest starting by drawing the tallest/highest object in your scene. For example if you have a lighthouse draw the tallest side of the lighthouse first, then keep everything in scale with that.
      I have a couple of videos coming up that focus on skies, and they might help a little with portion control too!

    Thanks for this, Toby! Reiterating the importance of simplication is something I need to hear all the time. About the Artistro box. Can the top plastic insert be removed, to provide some mixing area?

    • @TobySketchLoose
      @TobySketchLoose  Год назад

      Well said! Honestly I'm not sure re the box, Ive lost the set and whisky they were fun they're weren't something good enough that I would actively seek them out. Except their waterbrush which was great 😃

    • @leanngoodall7602
      @leanngoodall7602 Год назад

      I have the Artistro box and yes, you can remove the plastic insert...but it is a permanent removal. It is light weight plastic and glued in. I keep a small rectangular porcelain plate to use as a mixing area. The whole think is still very portable.

    Thank you for your most informative tutorial. Though I notice that like other artists that you do a flick of paint onto your finished work. I have never been able to understand or have been able to find the reason for doing this. To me, it looks like an accident and I think it spoils another wise delightful work.

    • @TobySketchLoose
      @TobySketchLoose  Год назад

      If you go to urbansketch.co.uk you can sign up to my mailing list. I'm currently producing an online course, will be releasing it in chapters soon (next couple of weeks). Essentially each chapter will have five workshops, with a video and accompanying pdf info. When the online course is all done I'll release a companion book! Thanks for asking 😊🙏

      Hi Patricia, I think it's been taken down unfortunately - I'm looking to add these links to my website (urbansketch.co.uk) - not up there yet but hopefully in the next couple of weeks!
