- Ventilator Blues is a Rolling Stones song off the 'Exile on Main St.' album. This is my favorite son and album by the Stones. I do not have the copyright to this song, it is put up for entertainment reasons only

My Dad ( producer, Jimmy Miller ) loved this track. Was probably his favorite of all the Exile productions.
Must have been a herculean gig. And bands STILL want to make records with that Exile sound. Dad did good.
(My favorite too:)
Your dad from 68-72 made the stones the baddest band on the planet! He was the best groove producer and what an amazing drum outro he played on tumbling dice..my all time fav.
Good taste...
I really want to be friends with you now. Your dad was spot on too.
He did a hell of a job with the Stones.
The first time I ever listened to this album, this song immediately jumped out at me. One of Mick's best vocals ever, and that nasty, nasty slide riff. Low-down, dirty perfection.
me too.....dont fight it.. its kismet how this song written in 72/73 has more relevance to now, 2020 then 47yrs ago.
This is my favorite song on one of my favorite albums.
One of the best songs they ever recorded. Low down, dirty, dark, bluesy, and gritty.
There is no comparing the Beatles to the Stones. Two different musical directions. The perfect chemistry of the players makes me a believer in miracles. How chance or fate or ....brought together the ultimate musicians. They were all friends by the way .I Love both bands. Will listen to them again and again. Never gets old.
Stones are still better lol
The Beatles, soft core petting The Stones triple X hard core, musical porn. No comparison...at all!
Then we shall move on to new and relevant business. Thanks!@@Adrian_El_Amin
RIP Charlie - keeping time like a Swiss watch. Well done.
First Nicky then Bobby and now Charlie. No Bobby, Charlie no find two and four. No Nicky, no tie in between drums, vocals and guitar. This track is absolutely lightning in a bottle. RIP Charlie!!
Master of the Elegance...
more like an atomic clock.
Might be jimmy miller.
Yup, you're right. Never ever gets old. And yup, rock and blues will never ever get old.😅
From history, to legend. Stamped for approval!
The whole Exile album is great, but this one and rocks off are just brilliant
This is the definition of cool n' badass
One hundred percent bro. I want a cig and whisky everytime i listen this song hahaha
More for the song title than anything else, but this gets a spot on the Isolation 2020 Playlist. Gotta get the Stones in there somewhere!
This whole album is Fn sick! The Stones are the one of greatest bands ever 😀😀
Michael McLoughlin
This is one of the best songs on an album filled with good songs.
Man I have listened to this song over & over. I don't know if I have a favorite
song on this album.
Damn this is down and dirty Stones at their finest..
+Donnie Maxwell Its the original "I am about to snap" song.
+Jay McPherson to
My. Elastic . .
Let's just say, it so happened to snap in all the right synapses. / _ - _ - _ /
Damn right Brother
Mick Taylor layed this track down..... I usually dont get involved in who's best debates, and I am a real fan of Ronnie Wood since back with The Faces.... But seriously, there is no comparison to the fluid, unbelieveable spontaneous licks and runs that Taylor gave us. And here's another thought - The Stones could never recreate this song on the road, and they don't ever play it live since MT left the band. I love Ron Wood, but Stones were at their best when Mick Taylor was raising their game
Mick taylor best
Ronnie?
Ronnie who ? ? ?
Pffft ...
Sway
100% truth. Stones at their best with MT.
I always thought Let it loose was a piano....it was Mick Taylor's guitar!
That beautiful gorgeous angel taking this song to the next level is the diamond in the Stones MICK TAYLOR !!!!!!
Potentially this might be most underrated thing ever.
There's something so dirty/groovy/ominous about this song. The brass and piano work is just exquisite. And that riff is just awesome.
you summed it up, in a nutshell; nuttin mo to say?
Gui Porto. I agree with 'boo hoo's comment & I love your use of 'ominous' ! My contribution is 'pent up & claustrophobic' !
Based on an old Robert Johnson song, can't remember if it's the same title. It is a great song!
No it is not based on a Johnson song.Stop Breaking Down is from Exile
Ventilator Blues is all Mick Taylor's riff.... but credit Jagger for amazing vocals, Nicky Hopkins for piano, Bobby Keyes on Sax...... This is all Stones, SOLID GOLD.
wyman on bass
Go Nicky!
yeah the piano on this is BLAZING. Really one of the greatest tracks ever.

Materiale rimasto into Mick Taylor
From Lauren canyon.
Always one of my favourite Stones tracks, I've told my son to book it for my funeral if the oronavirus gets me. Should make the vicar happy.
That's an awesome choice, but I hope you stick with us for a while
Simply flawless ❤❤
Jimmy Miller brought out the BEST of the Stones sound!👍🏻
Nicky Hopkins on that fine piano just melts my heart!! 💗
Bob Dylan when asked what his favourite stones songs said this one and Angie and Wild Horses. Mick Taylor riff.
I don't mean to be THAT guy but what he got asked was... If he had too pick one rolling stones song that he could've written instead , if any what would it be... He then picked the three you named
Sweet Jesus! Taylor was only 18 when he was playing with John Mayall's Bluebreakers, and only 22 when "Exile" was recorded.
This has to be the greatest rock and roll album ever recorded, with some of the greatest talent ever assembled. Thank God they made it a double alum. I still can't believe how lucky we were.
I saw the youthful Mick Taylor playing with John Mayall in a small club in South London-he was a fine blues guitarist
Wow,with John mayall! Amazing...
Jagger was what 28.
This highlights their collectively ingenious skills as arrangers.
All but the vocals and lead guitar was all arranged by Richards. Phenomenally put together. Mick Taylor has the main riff in this song as well, and Nicky Hopkins on piano.
Don't fight it! Gotta love the stones. Exile is one of their best albums.
More relevant now than ever.
Don't Fight It.
every one Jones offa fentanyl sweating in a basement
Charlie watts drumming in this jam is superb ! Complete utter bliss...
RIP Charlie Watts
May the good Lord shine a light on you
Make every song your favorite tune
May the good Lord shine a light on you
Warm like the evening sun
@@turpidude 🥁👍🥁😀 I will miss him dearly it is a very sad day for me today!
RIP Charlie Watts.
"When your spine is cracking and your hands they shake;
Heart is bursting and your butt's going to break;
Woman’s cussing, you can hear her scream;
Feel like murder in the first degree
Ain’t nobody slowing down no way;
Everybody’s stepping on their accelerator;
Don’t matter where you are;
Everybody’s going to need a ventilator"
A song that is more perhaps more relevant to day than when the song was released back in 1972.
Stay safe out there, be kind to one another, but keep your distance so you do not need a ventilator!
Just glad there are people who remember this and can relate! Awesome Mick Taylor song, and if memory serves me correct, he didnt get credits!
as long as there are socialist...."everybody's gonna need, some kind of ventilator" don't fight it. buy plenty of ammo
Seem they talk about covid pandemic...
ventilator blues. followed by "just wanna see his face." you had to grow up in the early 70s to have that memory and feel. every time i hear these songs it brings back those times....hard to believe its gone. the music brings the memories. Rolling Stones at there best.
Rolling Stones had many good incarnations throughout their career, but during the time Mick Taylor was with them, they were quite possibly THE best rock band on the planet! He put a real charge into their sound during that time. I just hope he finally gets those royalties long since owed him since leaving the group.
This was my first favorite track on this album. Has a catchy, dark feel. Always loved it. Many a good time.
Took me a long time to stumble on this baby..........Better late then never!
One of the best albums recorded in the 20th century.
Excellent Drumming, and slide axe !
Mick Taylor...............
Righteous.......Hot, blue, and totally righteous. I was born in 1960. My brother and sister brought me up right, and we feasted on the greatest music ever. We were lucky, weren't we.
When I was you I didn't care for many Stones .... Now I am older I dig the obscure stuff the best..... Love this
I agree with you both. But if you got just one or two chances to see the Stones live in your life (like I did) you want the overplayed stuff at least once. Hell, I was glad they did Rocks off in between the other classics. But it wouldn't be fair not to end with Simpathy or Satisfaction.
Kevin Patrick I keep telling everyone it's not the ones on the raido the ones you don't hear on the radio
Ferra T rocks off stinks.... with ya on satisfaction. beggars banquet sympathy beats any live cut though imo
Kevin Patrick memo for turner
Mark Vickroy !! " Rocks Off" stinks??!!? Whassa matter wit you BOY!!! haha . It has the definitive spirit of Rock & Roll in spades. One of the best opening tracks ever. "Ohh YEEAAH!!! "
Greatest Rockn Roll Band ever! When I was was young (1979) I couldnt understand but now I do. Always loved the Stones!
Miss Miller: How great was your Dad? IMHO this is the greatest album from the greatest band, ever. Their pinnacle. Rock's Mount Everest and your Dad, shoulder to shoulder with Mick and Keith, made the summit
Well said, that man. I find it hard to disagree with your points, though a very creditable close second would have to be Physical Graffiti.
greatest album ever... great song...
World's greatest rock and roll band, fan for life!
Bad ass horns, undeniably !
Low down and dirty rock n' roll. Just how I like The Stones ❤
i couldn't say it better.
Mick Taylor a true icon in the world of silky smooth guitar
Ah, Nicky hopkins's upper octave trills are amazing!
+ bharat sharma He's the star of this show - which is saying something.
Lukas Ritchey - Thank You for the post !!! Well done boy !!!
Your father was a GIFT to myself and so many others who love and appreciate his work! Thanks for the great info!! Have a great day my friend,Mark 👍👍✌️✌️🎶🎶🎸🎹🎺🎻🥁🎷🎙️
One of the best riffs ever!
Unbelievable how they keep on the top til today ! What a joy ! Viva The Rolling Stones !
theres a grittiness on this lp that is just plain infectious..from the rythm to the amazing plinks from the piano to the raw vocals to the driving bass lines and the wailing horns then the slide guitar, and oh never mind...i truly think this is the best of the best
When your spine is cracking and your hands, they shake
Heart is bursting and your butt's gonna break
Woman's cussing, you can hear her scream
Feel like murder in the first degree
Ain't nobody slowing down no way
Everybody's stepping on their accelerator

Everybody's gonna need a ventilator
When you're trapped and circled with no second chances
Code of living is your gun in hand
Can't be browed by beating, can't be cowed by words
Messed by cheating, ain't gonna ever learn
Everybody walking 'round
Everybody trying to step on their Creator
Don't matter where you are, everybody, everybody gonna
Need some kind of ventilator, some kind of ventilator
Come down and get it
What you gonna do about it, what you gonna do?
What you gonna do about it, what you gonna do?
Gonna fight it, gonna fight it
Gonna fight it, gonna fight it

Gonna fight it, gonna fight it

Gonna fight it, gonna fight it
Rest in peace Charlie you were the coolest drummer around I listen to you for 50 years thank you
Holy shit this song hits hard and gives me goosebumps
Among their best albums (Sticky Fingers and Let it Bleed also rank up there) with a lot of nasty blues rock! Ventilator blues demands to be listened to on a huge stereo that has a good bottom end. the old huge Klipsch speakers really make this song come to life!
Golden period. Which is their greatest album? Solely depends upon what mood you're in. Beggars Banquet, Let it Bleed, Sticky Fingers, Exile. Also think Black & Blue doesn't get the credit it deserves.
...Heavy blues...
Whatcha gonna do about it,whatcha gonna do!!!!
It was cool to see Taylor come up on stage and jam with Stones at their latest concert in NJ...and then come out later for a bow.
One of the best.
Appropriate for the Covid-19 pandemic.
yep and posted lmao
I dedicated this post to Cuomo in these day of infamy.🙏
It is....more than you might know....chk this out.

@@timmayeaux2743 ; unfortunately, I'm not sure that even those can take out what rules this world,..I'm thinking incendiary material myself.
Brilliant !
No wonder Deena, your dad did wonderful work with the stones, and he did wonders with you. Thank you for being there!
My favorite rock song of all time, hands down
The eternal internal struggle between the two powerful forces that are, "Dig a pony" & "Ventilator blues"
Sawyer Kavanagh actually there is no comparison. the beatles are childish and silly
@@winstonsmith9533 I HAVE TO AGREE. GROWN MEN SINGING ABOUT YELLOW SUBMARINES, DIGGING PONIES AND OCTOPUS GARDENS.WHAT THE HELL!!!
Tuve la suerte de verlos 4veces y creo que son los más grandes de todos los tiempos
The Sones' only live performance of Ventilator Blues was at a concert in Vancouver's Pacific Coliseum on June 3, 1972. That would have been amazing to see!
@Donal Finn It began as a massive riot
Now being us all right in the middle of this Covid19 isolation quarantine madness, 9 out of 10 doctors recommend listening to this lil magnificent gem at least twice a day! Its life savin stuff!
charlie shining so bright....the track ive air drummed to for years...just such a great drummer and the stones with mick taylor too - their peak...fantastic
That first picture is awesome
That's from inside the sticky fingers album.
The Philadelphia PhIllies let me down this weekend. This song healed the pain
This is one of the best ever.
More relevant today than ever! Springtime 2020!
MICK TAYLOR!!!!
Pure STONES!!
i love this tune the intro is magnificent /the glimmer twins are a force to be reckoned with
viva os Stones uma das melhores bandas de Rock de todos os tempos. abração
Best song on the best album by the Rolling Stones, going down & dirty!
Best album, indeed!
LordNIBAVAS definitely their best
By far the best 😀
Who is rating the Stones. Come on. You gotta love them. They have some good spirit inside to make such music. There is songs I might like better. But I want the whole complete Rolling Stones catalog
Que é isso? esse é o Rolling Stones de verdade!!...Rock in Roll.
Greetings from the sout side of Chicago uncle Frank sent me here 👍
Watts said in 2003, “We always rehearse ‘Ventilator Blues’ [for tours]. It’s a great track, but we never play it as well as the original. Something will not be quite right; either Keith will play it a bit differently or I’ll do it wrong. It’s a fabulous number, but a bit of a tricky one. Bobby Keys wrote the rhythm part, which is the clever part of the song. Bobby said, ‘Why don’t you do this?’ and I said, ‘I can’t play that,’ so Bobby stood next me to clapping the thing and I just followed his timing. In the world of Take Five, it’s nothing, but it threw me completely and Bobby just stood there and clapped while we were doing the track - and we've never quite got it together as well as that.”
Sorry, but this song, especially the drums, is extremely basic.
@@justinchastant9246 you try it then.
@@BillyClaire I can easily play this song on the drums. It really is not difficult. It is basic.
This is my first listen I’m glad I found this while researching ventilators the kind used in a hospital 🏥
Because Covid19. ya know in the year 2020
RIP Mr. Charlie Watts. Hounds of Love four You and for The Rolling Stones. 😭😭😭
this track reminds of a blistering busy night in a busy catering kitchen i love the opening line when your smiles cracking/ and the line fight it
Jimmy Miller was a genius producer who inspired their greatest albums. Great drummer too, he's on Can't always get what you want
This is the best combination of blues and rock n roll that ever existed. It's fucking perfect man
I've only been with the stones since the first album I bought was aftermath! I was born in San Francisco! Bring a flower!
The only song that was credited to Mick Taylor during his tenure with the Stones. His began with Let it Bleed and left after It's Only Rock n Roll.
I LOVE The Rolling Stones. One of my faves of all time!
If you hang out in the South of France in the summer...you'll understand this song. Stones!
My favourite stones tune. Great blues
Listen to plundered my soul! Attract released 40 years after exile was recorded! It's that great!!
That Mick Taylor slide makes my eyes water
The first word that came to my mind when the riff started: badass.
One of the songs off this album they've never played live. They couldn't replicate this song on stage. I'd give anything to see them play Let It Loose in November.
Another great tune by those friggin geniuses .................
Wow wow wow......Respect💥
exile one of the greatest productions of the 20th century
My fav song of the Stones...captivating as hell.
Great tune that didn't get the credit it deserved
Agreed
So true !
It got plenty of credit in our house!
yeah for real'' don't know where u grew up at? I grew up on the eastside of Cleveland, the stones got played alot'' in that hood, hell that was 40 years ago'',
Cathy McCoy I don't think there is a bad song on exile. I think it's the best double album ever put out. also, one of the top ten records ever.
Something addicting about this song- It's simple but catchy guitar riff and the overall slow, bluesy tone, I love it.
When I was in my early teens, there were a few albums I bought because they captured my imagination due to the cover art. I hadn't heard any of the music but I found the covers captivating. This was one and Layla was another. Both are on my list of top 10 favorite albums of all time.
Ventilator Blies is one of the songs I hear in my mind when nothing else is playing.
Dont fight it....dont fight it ...
