Bigshot. I like that. Hotshot trucking vs. bigshot trucking vs big rig trucking. Seems like a legitimate differentiation between the 3
This has been a GREAT video. After 20 plus years of 18 wheeler trucking, I would Love to experience this kind of operation. Blessings to To Captain.
🖤⚜💛⚜🖤⚜💛⚜🖤⚜💛⚜
We appreciate it! It is definitely a great experience coming from the dually!
Love the clean look of your truck. Subdued beauty, no "look at me!" stuff all over it.
Congrats fella!!! Super clean truck you got there. I personally would now focus on a step deck to complete the set up. With that in mind. The amount you spent on that truck, I would have got a Semi for less. Better living accommodation. With a Semi your able to still do Hot Shot- Big Shot and semi loads. Power only aswell. More loads available aswell. Your still in the same category as my F550. Hot shot loads basically. Other than that hella of a truck and good video break down...look forward to future videos. ✌️
Definitely stay tuned more great content on the way and some more informational videos too!
BEAUTIFUL
That's a really sharp looking truck and trailer
I enjoyed your video you are so thorough and you seem so knowledgeable about your truck and I love the simplicity of your truck.God bless .ken
Appreciate that Ken! We try to be as informative as we can in each video.
Dude!! Badass rig!! Great video man!! Sorry to hear about your dad.
Thanks! Its been a hell of a journey cant wait to showcase what we have up next
Since your one step down from big truck call it "Junior"
love your truck and channel keep em coming!!
Added to the list! Everyone has some great names coming in from the comments here and dms on ig. We will do a video with the name we chose soon
Outstanding
I bet that's way more comfortable of a ride that a 4500 or 5500, nice setup.
It absolutely is it never gets old the triple air ride is just amazing even the 5th wheel being air ride makes a huge difference
Its me again. Going back to see or let all the videos play and like them
White Lightning lol..great channel, subbed! I’m a 9 car hauler but I love all aspects of trucking! Keep the great content coming! 🚚💨
Thanks for the support and the sub! thats not a bad name we are doing a name reveal soon!
I've really enjoyed this video. I was thinking about getting into hotshot and I was considering a freightliner. One thing I would have to go with is a manual transmission.
My name suggestion is "Tia" which is your company initials reversed.
I'm looking forward to more videos .
Great suggestion! Will add it to the list. Ans definitely do your research so that when you come out here you are best set up to succeed
Hey Wil! Its been a while! We want to reach out to you to say thank you! First off we ended up going with the name Tia for the truck! I am reaching out to you because we have a gift for you for the great suggestion! Any updates on your hotshot journey?
Hopefully I can get one of these setups! I’m starting with a Dually first then I’ll Be jumping into a sport chassis freightliner
sounds like a solid plan! get in with the dually learn the ropes and save up
@@adventuresintrucking1995I’m working on a business grant now to acquire some down payment money to go with my trade to get a Megacab Dually (Cummins all day !!) .
Nice video man, and sorry for your loss, may he RIP. I have my 53 van numbered with the birth year of my dad, and my 389 numbered with my son's, family is everything, appreciating, and remembering those who deserve reflects on one's character. God bless the hard working man, stay safe.
Thanks for the support! We are dropping another one soon. We’ve been on a hiatus
At the end of the year, what is your percent of net profit after all costs ? In other words out of every dollar you take in, how much do you actually get to keep for yourself ?
Beautiful Rig perfect Hotshot Setup
Got some new content coming! The setup got even better !
luv the truck been wanting the same setup, blessings my friend
Thanks! Definitely worth every penny!
Nice truck!! But it takes the attitude you have to do this job. Way to stay positive!! Good luck and safe driving!
At about 17:16 you're showing the airride underneath. In bottom R corner is a wire loom with 3 wires coming out to the same bolt on the frame. I assume those are ground wires. It looks like the bolt is rusty and likely the wire terminals too.. I'd suggest removing the wire clean all terminals, bolt and frame area with a wire wheel in a drill etc. Then use some Dielectric Grease smeared on all the parts and reassemble. Do the same to any and all grounds or battery cables to keep the corrosion under control. Bad ground connections cause all kinds of weird intermittent problems expensive to diagnose. It's super easy cheap easy preventive maintenance
Good eye! Will def get it taken care of for sure.. like you said its cheap PM might as well get it done.
@@adventuresintrucking1995 Eric O of South Main Auto channel had a truck in recently for a 2nd opinion of $5000 repair bill from a dealer for all kinds of error codes of computer modules, truck wouldn’t shut off with key all kinds of weird problems. Dealer said replace them all. Eric O does actual diagnostics. Finds main braided groundstrap from body to frame underneath literally fell into his hand as he grabbed it to check.. $20 cable and 1hr shop time saved customer $5000. Check your grounds people they're easy.
That’s definitely great advice and we will get it taken care of. Again great eye, thanks!
Nice truck brother! I'm a professional truck driver myself! I haul flatbed and I also live in Atlanta!
Thats awesome! We arent far away from Atlanta. Bout 40 min
Very nice!
Thanks!
I just subscribe to your channel I run hot shot out of Houston Texas that's a nice truck you got I have a Freightliner fl60 with the little sleeper and a flatbed I pull a goose neck with also but your truck is very very nice, keep making this good content hopefully I'll see you on the road one day
We’ve been out to Texas (and Houston specifically) a couple of times we surely could run into each other!
@@adventuresintrucking1995Yes Sir, be safe out there keep trucking
BEWARE! The parking brake on the drive-line _WON'T_ stop the truck from moving in marginal traction conditions! One side will spin backwards while the truck will roll forwards!
Imagine rain freezing under the truck overnight, on even a slight slope, it will break loose!
Very nice truck, I think you will love that 8.3, to me they are so much better than a 7.2 Cat and the Mercedes Benz engine. Hope it last you a long time. The tires look good on it, but how old are they?
2 Maybe 3 weeks old on the tires basically brand new. And when we were looking for this truck we specifically wanted the 8.3l in it. There were plenty of 7.2 Cat and MB on the market but we had to have the Cummins 8.3!
Compare insurance on this rig, versus RAM pickup..notice what is on the road for hot shotters..
Honestly the insurance only went up a couple of hundred bucks… this truck is only 4 years newer than the ram and is considered a class 5 so that may have played a role.. nonetheless it was only a couple hundred more a month
A newer SC will most likely increase your insurance a lot more though.
Sounds like you have a air leak when you were under the rear of the truck
Read a lot of comments and nothing about the added hitch. That's a receiver for a ball hitch. Should have a channel on the rear to slide into and pin.
Name This Truck Casper The Big Rig the I learned how to Drive Big Truck in our Ford F600 Dump Truck and International loadstar 1700 Flatbed a Buddy of mine had a International loadstar with a Truck Bed Camper Mounted on back as a sleeper you can climb in through the cab or the rear if he's not hooked up to the trailer
Thats pretty cool! We already named the truck Tia which is the initials for Adventures in Trucking backwards
Maybe I missed it. What can you scale? How much can you put on your trailer? Very happy for you!
All good, we can put 21,500 on the trailer.
@@adventuresintrucking1995 what is the limiting factor? Your trailer weight capacity or the truck?
I would say trailer
How did you find your truck? I'm looking but everyone with an M2 106 thinks they have a golden truck and want > $100k for a high mileage rig.
We looked for a long time (a few months). We had to go PA to get this one. What I can say is when you find one 1) be ready to move on it 2) be ready to pick it up wherever it is. This truck went up for sale on a Friday and we bought it on Saturday.
To follow up on what HSS said, for a little $ I know that this truck will outlast any Dually pickup and do more work. I expect it to be a good fit for us.
I was thinking of getting this instead of 3500 4500 5500 hundred
That's an awesome little rig..how did ya find it?.
Bought it in Eerie PA from a guy who had it posted online and we called and sealed the deal on it
Nice rig!
Appreciate it! Just trying to make it do what it do!
Sweet ride brother congrats keep it between the ditches stay safe GOD BLESS 🙏
Wassup Tommy, thanks brother. I appreciate you and thanks for your support!
what is the cost? this would do well for me.
The cost of this truck was $117,500. Given current 450/550 and 4500/5500 prices you might as well pay a little more and get way more truck imo.
What is the maximum payload you go on that set up?
Originally i said 23k in someone else’s comment but its 21,500.
@@adventuresintrucking1995 21500 is the trailer max load right? How much can the truck pull?
@@robertharrison4257 soo yea... we actually hauled a load probably 3 weeks ago ish that was 24,000 on the trailer. The truck pulled great and the trailer was not bowing or flexing either. So to answer your question... in excess of 30K LOL im not sure on an exact number
How is a hotshot not for hire?
It is for hire….havent taken it off the side of the truck yet at that point of filming…….
@@adventuresintrucking1995 oh I gotcha. Haven’t seen any of your videos before. You just popped up in my feed. But that’s a good thing for your channel!
@@MarsellusWallace2024 yea we are definitely happy to see the channel growing and moving in a positive direction.. we try to focus on spreading positive energy good and accurate information and just good content for people to watch.
bad muffucca right there!
Love what i see but your volume is too low
Thanks for the feedback.. that issue has been addressed already for our current videos though thanks 🙏🏾
Why not get an actual semi ??
1) we dont need an actual semi to do the work we do
2) this is a multi purpose truck which serves other purposes besides making money
3) an actual semi is not allowed at many campgrounds
Nothing against an actual semi truck.. used to have 4 of them. Just need this truck to do other things besides OTR is all ya know
That makes sense about not being allowed to get into where you work
If you have your CDL, why do you want to debate this truck and not haul all the weight that you can?
We are doing all the weight we can? Im confused plus we just upped to a new trailer and are doing even more weight now. Im confused on what youre asking exactly im sorry
oh cool for the children
Well done video. The Sport Chassis is the only way to go for Hot Shoting or Gooseneck Hauling. Everything like you said built heaver to handle the weight and the miles. There great! Great buy for a 2008 with 51,000 miles, beautiful, ENJOYIt!
Nice video. Super clean truck. I’ve always liked the look and style on the freightliner. Looks ready for business. Good luck on your adventure in trucking!
That hitch is for a bumper pull trailer that's the reciever for the ball, you can use different size ball hitch in it
Thanks for the reply! We have gotten some other commenters who said the same. Definitely nice to be able to ask a question to the community and get answers.
What an awesome truck, and find, for you! I'm an old guy trying to figure out how to RV soon, using more than a 1-ton pickup, to tow a nice comfy 5th wheel camper around the country. Love the big trucks! And, while some will say go Class 8, I'm not convinced that's the way to go with the extra weight, mpg hit, and maintenance required. I don't know how I found your video, but, you're a cool dude, I wish you well, and I'll follow along to see how things go. Cheers! Pete in AZ
Thanks Pete! This is definitely a truck i would recommend you checking out for your RV needs!
I didn't know that you could get an M2 with an air ride cab. Great truck !
That is an adjustable receiver hitch. You typically see them on the back of a motor home, except they come with a ball mounted to the hitch. They’re normally rated up to 40k lbs. I had one mounted on a motor home and a P2XL, and it made life much better when towing. Love the truck,…sure miss the ones I e had over the years.
Glad you didn’t get the Mercedes. Those engines are terrible. I’m a Cat guy. The little C6 Cat just outperformed the Mercedes all around, even while being rated at less horsepower and torque. I like Cummins too, but I’ve never had real life experience with them in those trucks. You’ll enjoy that truck,…just subscribed and looking forward to future videos.
Thank you so much! Finally someone has info on the receiver we have since modified it to our needs of course lol and thank you for subscribing! We are currently working on a new video now!
@@adventuresintrucking1995 you’re welcome. Most of those trucks come with a built in receiver. I had my P2XL modified by Sportchassis for that adjustable hitch. They added weight to the rear of the truck, and it gave it a noticeably smoother ride. One thing I also did, was install a glad hand on the rear with a shutoff valve. 1) it gave me air supply to my stacker trailer with an air ride suspension. 2) I used it to air up tires with an air hose that has the glad hand on the end of it. I think I bought that hose at a truck stop, if I’m not mistaken. Your truck is the first that I’ve seen with a mechanical parking foot brake. All the ones I’ve owned and driven had the yellow parking brake on the dash like the semis.
Shout out to you sir and your son. Y’all went all out with going over the truck. I appreciate you both.
Thank you for the support and thank you for enjoying our content!
@@adventuresintrucking1995 Yes sir! Y’all keep it up as often as y’all can. I know it’s a lot on y’all but we could just listen to you talk. You have a lot of knowledge!
That’s what we have built our channel on and will continue to grow it on!
@@adventuresintrucking1995 yes sir!!
hi..whats the most you can haul with it? im thinking of getting one (2007) to move a piece of equipment for my company...its around 37 500 lbs including gooseneck trailer ..would i be to legally do it? thank you
Nice truck 👊🏽🦾 super clean setup. Stay bless and most definitely be safe out there
Bro ive been watching your channel for the longest! Love your new Ram. You definitely stay safe out there as well and keep on truckin
Awesome explanation and video brother
Sweet ride! Maybe the truck should be called marshmallow for its cushy ride??
Lol not bad! Will add it to the list!
I love these trucks
Can you tell me where you got the window covers.
Good morning sir would you be able to share a link of where you got your window shades from ? Thank you
Heatshieldstore.com
Thats what i miss about my 2500 conversion van the back seat turns to a bed all the lights inside flat screen tv she hauls a heck of a load hauld as much as my 2500 pickup just more sleeping area
Hi, how about "Big White" it is a nice truck looking forward to your videos
Not bad… but in a later video of ours we announced that we would go with Tia which is the initials for Aventures in Trucking backwards.
Nice rig. So how did you get the rig re-rated to a higher gvwr from the original de-rated gvwr?
@@freddyrodriguez3333 its still rated at 19,500 .. and thanks for the compliment!
Nice ride
Great review sir!
"Casper"
Wouldn''t a double bunk DOT. sleeper make more sense than that backseat?
No because this truck also pulls a camper and pulls double duty for personal use… so in this particular case it doesn’t because you cant take a semi to campgrounds
Little giant
White Ghost
Question for you what would you charge to transport 2-20’ foot shipping containers gross weight 24K from New Jersey to California 2905 miles appreciate any feedback
love your set up I drove for 32 years Big truck retired now but would like to do part time hauling just for the scenery of America not worried about the money as for making a living but not to cut any rates either just for traveling good luck with your adventure safe travels
Mist
Is the back to sleep in DOT approved?
yes.. it meets all DOT requirements
Very interesting! These hot shot/big shot trucks are kind of on the quiet side of hauling while, filling an important need. There are far more selections and options when specing one of these trucks, it seems. One suggestion; in future videos, please consider using a well edited script. The repetition in this video detracts from the facts. Thank you sir for the tutorial.
Good Show. Do you have to get a CDL to drive hot shot.
With our current setup yes a CDL is required
Awesome man looks nice
Thanks man we appreciate the support :)
It's an M2 106, right ? Not an M2 112 ?
Yea a 106 not 12
Nice set up.
Thanks! It was a long time coming for sure
Only CDL
With this setup a CDL is required yes.
Sweet rig
Thanks we appreciate that.. check out some of our other vids if you havent already!
I really like this setup ! I have been considering one but wow they like them things 😂 New to your channel. Be safe.
Thanks for the support! We are happy to see our channel growing
He kno everything about his truck
You go extreme detail. A good thing for people getting into the business. Is the money good on the unit ? Do you gross at Least $500,000- Per year . Thinking of getting back it from 34 years of straight Job jumping into this set up . Have a great Thanksgiving & Holiday
I wouldnt go as far to say we gross 500k a year but there’s definitely some really good money in it if you have knowledge of the industry and dont constantly take cheap freight.
Looks like a pritle hitch adapter
No air brake
Nah no air brakes on this one
It is a recess hich receiver hook up
Tow Hitch That You Can Place On The Rear Of Your Truck And Add A Tow Ball And Pull That Type Of Trailer Instead Of Your Goose Neck Setup Sir .
You’re saying bumper pull commercially instead of 5th wheel? Im not following you sorry.
Before I watched I was skeptical
But now I'm a believer, excellent setup
love these trucks since day they came out. As for a name ' Ghost Rider/Casper/Cloud Surfer'
Pretty sick names! We named her Tia already though. Its the initials for Adventures in Trucking backwards:)
Was wondering if you knew where, if even possible, some place the offers that model truck on a leasing option?
Um im not sure.. you could try premium wholesale sale exotic i really am not sure.. we went through a private seller
Receiver hitch isn't it?
Super nice rig, I am also a Cummins guy.
My E-450 has that parking brake drum behind the transmission...
I like the way your truck has it in front of the pumpkin
Sometimes they put them behind the tranny but youre still getting the same benefit as me here because even though you are in front of the drive shaft you still are going through the differential and thus your braking force is still multiplied by your diff gear ratio
Very nice truck you have there take good care of it 👍
Pearl
Call it white lightning
What's the tow capacity on that type of truck?
We’ve had 24k on the trailer and towed it fine FL-Sc so over 30k

what type of front shocks do you use for your sport chassis ?
It has Bilstein shocks from the factory
Very nice
