@@rs180216when the team knows their obviously not gonna win they use positional players like a 3rd basemen for example to pitch so their pitchers aren't used when they don't need them to be
@@rs180216 i know this is late but the reason you saw those slow pitches was because they were position players . Typically when a team is down by a lot they will rest their real pitchers and have position players step up since the game is practically over
Is it just me or is this pitch basically a lob at 52 MPH?! At 4:15 it seems like the pitcher isn't making much effort and basically gave that grand slam away like it's his last day working at Denny's.
Idk about 52 but it’s definitely slow . I think the rays got to the point where they were like “surely they’re not gonna try to run up the score” and Toronto was just like “wrong”.
Rockies somehow managed to outperform them with the 25-1 differential. Can't wait for the 30-1 game on July 26, the 35-1 game on August 27, the 40-1 game on September 28, the 45-1 game on October 29, the 50-1 game on Novermber 30, and the 55-1 game on December 31.
Please jays just stay a little more consistent. The way things are going we could very easily but unpredictably end up in last just as well as first place in al east
Alright the rays had a very down game- but over all I don’t see the fuss. The Rays team will bounce back and continue being consistent. In a 100+ game season, a team doing this well will have games like this. They just gotta move on.
Seriously. So glad Baseball is moving away from the softness of those 'unwritten rules'. At the professional level, its so stupid! A team shouldn't be expected to 'go easy' on their opponent just because they're playing a better game. If you don't want the score ran up on you, play better!
This was a beauty of a game to snap our losing streak! Go Jays!! Hopefully this huge victory is the turning point in the season and a kick-starter for our offence🤞🤞
@@916mw Well, baseball is a funny sport sometimes, my friend, so I guess we will just have to wait and see. Look, man, I didn’t mean to make you dislike me, so I apologize for whatever I said that angered you. I also mostly said that because I’ve always liked David Ortiz and his personality, even when he was blasting home runs against the Jays😂
I’d like to know what’s the strategy behind a pitcher throwing easy to hit pitches at the batters because I’m pretty sure the Rays gave up around 6-10 runs from that strategy
The idea is the game is already out of hand so you save your actual pitchers and have a guy go throw basic ball’s across the plate until it’s over… an L is an L. Today the Rays may have better luck, or it could be the start of a skid… the odds say they have two great starters lined up and now a bullpen that didn’t go forever in the later half of that game. A win cancels this game completely.
As a person from the UK with next to zero experience of baseball, what was that closing pitcher doing just tossing 50+mph balls down the middle of the plate each time?
they gave up on the game already and wanted to save their real pitchers. The guy could probably pitch faster if he wanted to, but he's not a real pitcher so even if he tried hard, it would actually just be easier for these pro hitters to hit because they're used to hitting fast pitches. Might as well save his energy instead of getting tired here and affecting his play tomorrow
Crazy how they jays are in a crazy slump and then suddenly win 20-1 against the best team in baseball. Hopefully this is the start of a win streak for the jays.
This is what happens when you start playing real baseball and stop trying to be flashy and hit home runs every time you’re at bat. I really hope this is the turning point fot the Jays.
It was in Baltimore. And against actual pitchers. They didnt score 10 runs off of position players like the blue jays did lol. The 30 run game will likely never be beaten
Difference is that the Blue Jays seem to have a game like this every year. Last year they beat us 28-5, the year before that they beat the Orioles 22-2. Your rangers have only have had this happened once.
@Andy Li im sorry, i missed the part where the blue jays hold the all time record for runs scored... oh yeah thats right. They dont. A crappy rangers team from 2007 holds that record. Bunch of no names hold the all time record. Go cry somewhere else
The disrespect was The ray’s telling their fans we give up. Vlad jr did what he is paid to do, anything else and he would have been as bad as the Ray’s numbskull!
