There is a law and order episode where Neil’s actor plays a psychologist and he has the exact same mustache as here. Both Sopranos episode and law and order episode came out mid 2005

Neil was super smart for never charging Tony until he actually had to work in the court room. That was his investment. Gaining a mobsters trust by not being a typical lawyer who charges for everything. He knew who he was dealing with and kept himself safe with that play.

All that "Mezzogiorno" bs... she was going to become like Neil and protect murderers like her dad in order to handsomely profit from it.

What are you talking about? Tony explicitly says that he has his own "kick". This means that he was part of the organization and got a cut over either everything "kicked up" to tony or a kick of everything in the organization directly.

Lawyers are like doctors to your civic life. They see you right to your bone, and a good one will keep you healthy and out of incarceration. Tony obviously understands this.

Now that I think about it, there’s not a single character Tony respected more than Neil.
It really wasn’t respect. He was extremely insecure around people like the lawyer and the psychiatrist. They had a lot of power over him. Skills and abilities and confidence that could be backed up. Tony knew or believed he didn’t have anything near what they had. That’s why he tried to have sex with the psychiatrist. It was the only way he thought he could try to have some power over her. A lot of his relationships are about maintaining dominance. When she set strong boundaries, all he could do is step back and behave
When Neil failed get the Ketchup out of the bottle, Tony saw an opportunity to show him how it was done. When Tony failed it was game over.

If Tony would only step back he would realize what a sad life he leads.
I think he realized that a few times in the series, but he was in too deep and couldn't do anything about it, or didn't know how to change
@@DOPEdwarf He knows. Just look at the dream with his football coach. He took the easy way out going into the Mafia, and deep down knows it’s a broken existence. That’s why he’s so bitter and unpleasant in later seasons with that understanding.
Neil was a great lawyer, although let's face the fact that tony was going down even if he survived at the end.
That ketchup bottle was an analogy for Tony’s life and career. He had been close to going to jail or getting killed many times but had always been able to squeeze out a few more drops one way or another. He dodged a murder charge, assassinations and a million other things through the years but this was the end of the line, there were no more drops to squeeze out and he would finally have to face the music he. He always knew he was living on borrowed time and now the clock was out of time.

Ole Neil Mick had Tony's best interest at heart just as much or more so than pretty much everybody else in the series.

Later on that ketchup bottle apologized to Tony. It honestly didn’t remember not dispensing its contents, but either way, it never should’ve raised it’s hands to the boss.
