Cant believe im just seeing this thing.. got one on the way. All the other demos on this were not really grabbing me so real happy Greg did a demo of this I think the old ones are great if you can ever find one thats magic ive never found one. Hoping this ends my search ..
If this unit had a tube in the front end that would be the cherry on top. Outrageous unit. If they still made that model I would buy it. Thanks for the demo. c];-)
I couldn't see carrying this around to gigs, however, I would love to have one for recording. I'm thinking this is geared more towards the pros and less towards us working guys.
I had dropped T Rex on my "Stuff to look at" list over a year ago. Something that sounds awesome. Works consistently. Has some versatile functions. I don't know how much it is, but I don't see a down side if its under 400 or so...even more so because I just wont use a regular chorus. I'd much rather use this. So this is multiple pedals for me. Down side?
this sounds very much like a cassette tape machine doing delay. sorry, but for this price tag I would go with a serviced echoplex ep 3. the fulltone tte, sste and roland space echo also sound like a proper tape echo. the reasons behind this are that they use 1/4 inch tape, have a comparatively fast running tape, and some utilize tubes and selectable playback heads or adjustable head slider. this overpriced 1/8 inch cassette tape delay has a lo-fi quality of sound in comparison. heck, find a echoplex for under $500 and get it serviced at Orbitz Electronics for an additional $200. then you have an awsome sounding authentic tape delay. space case tape echo also offers a 1/8 inch cassette tape delay starting at $500. remember, a small echo on/off pedal can go on your board while the unit sits at a level that you can easily adjust the delay without crouching down over your board every adjustment. my 2cents.
When I was 9 years old, my Oldest Brother Eddie would bring his EchoPlex over to Mom's house on Sunday and leave the Echoplex and his Fender Super reverb until the next Friday. He would always tell me, don't touch my shit. Well I did and had a Rocking real time, jamming my 63 Fender Stratocaster Sea Foam Green on his equipment. When he caught me it wasn't very funny to him, until I started Jamming with him and just STOPPED playing and stared at me with his mouth wide open. He hollered at Mom and listen to him. End of Story
+Vikki Karthik Yup, that's why I dabble in building/modding my own equipment. If you know what you're doing you can build stuff for pennies on the dollar.
"Needs Tubes for that 899.99 Price" I feel like it's missing tubes for that price to harsh for my ear and this is not the first demo i've heard. Something about tape and tube can't be matched even if it imperfect due to noise from tubes and transformer, and Fans. Sometimes that imperfection is the magic or Mojo people like.

is it just me or does that actually sound countless times better than a digital delay?!!
It does. Some analog delay pedals can get close though.
I would take a Strymon El Capistan over this any day. As a matter of fact, you can buy two for the price of one Replicator.
I agree. I have checked it out in a shop. So the main disappointing thing was that it's mono... el capistan gives much richer tone
lol
daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Whenever I hear Greg play a Tele, he makes me want one soooo bad!

If anyone from Wildwood sees this, I would absolutely love to know the full signal chain being used here.
dude that guy rips at the guitar! I also liked the Friedman booth at NAMM video. you rock man!
Wow
Suena estupendo.
Encima una demo con Greg será un exito.
Sitting on top of a vintage vibrotone....I own one!

+IPushHard It's 900 bucks.
Can the tape get chewed up like my old casette tapes use to in a walkman ?
Jezus relax please!! Yes you can play👍
Will it still run OK if you use a charge pump for its power?
Sold. Bu,t is the direct drive motor gonna need a mechanic? If so how many miles? ;-)
Awesome 😳 now G K denies pedals as well. I'm loving this channel.

Greg, $899 worth of reasons to the wife to get this thing and you're done... :)
Gnarly sound but the price is a bit rich for my blood... that said, definitely a fair price for the tone.

Gregory Koch is Bucket head people! 💯
God bless Charlie Watkins and his Copicat.
Sweet !
i bet that song six was nine would just sound perfect hendrix aproved i bet
In years to come, what happens when you need to replace the tape? Can anyone replace the tape with 'off the reel' tape?
Delicious.
What song is he playing at 4:51?
James Gang! 11:55
Hillbilly Holdsworth on those chord swells.
Why didn't you ask him if they are planning to sell replacement tape cartridges for the unit and if so how long will they sell them?
if they go under your screwed!
Cuddly bit of kit!
The old Watkins tape echo was far better ,ok the echo was a bit noisy , check out the Echoplex as well, demo good but again a lot of tuneless waffle .

Great unit! Just wish the playing was less bluesy.
We're in blues lawyer dad territory. Watch your step.
Actually the playing is pretty cool in some parts.
Those volume swells...
4:51 Friggin craphellfire!
Joe Walsh! Howww ya doin'?
I’d rather have the catalin bread rec echo. Straight floyd sounds.
$899.00 at Sweetwater.
Yeah, i dunno abt all 3 buddy.
doom
Dear lottery, can i please win 899 this month? or 1798.... so i could get 2?
This device is out of production and t-rex is defunct.
what he is playing is .... why not having a rockabilly guitarist make some noise .. ???
