I actually read somewhere that the voice actors got to play the game during recording sessions while testing Wii Wheel prototypes, so that might explain why they sound so alive
that would actually make alot of sense, wii wheel motion control driving was pretty new technology and i imagine it would've been new to the voice actors too and mario kart wii is extremely hectic with its items so i can't imagine playing the game wouldve been boring for them@@NintendoFantasyChic

Y’know, this was MY first Mario game when I heard Mario and his friends’ voices. Which is a good opportunity to get to know all the characters. Plus, the characters in this game are super talkative. They say each of their phrases in 3 ways, and 6 ways when they speed up.

Mario RPG games have dialogues, new villains, discussions, arguments, traitors, reveals and much more expression which show more personality. When Dreambert gave the Zeekeeper the promise that Mario will give him 80 mio coins after helping Mario and Co., Mario showed that he didn't even want to agree but had to pretend to. There is character development personality wise. You don't have that in Super Mario Bros.

They're literally the same character. I have no clue where you're getting this from. Games like Donkey Kong 94 and Super Mario Odyssey make this blatantly clear, just to name a few.
