    VERY NICE ALL-MOUNTAIN BIKE ! The build is spot on for Western North Carolina. Friends and I spent last weekend in Pisgah and Brevard. I decided to buy a new Santa Cruz Hightower and my friend bought a Santa Cruz Megatower. Our reasoning for the purchases, same as yours; need a purpose built bike for East Coast Mountain rides and annual trips out west.

    looking forward to the ride part of this review. I live on Long Island NY, and the trails really call for a hard tail or a cross country suspension. But would love something that can justify me buying a bike to more challenging trails upstate and hillier areas.

    Interesting. I got kashima factory suspension on my xo sentinel with new 10-52 cassette. Maybe I got the 2021? The 2.4 rear tire was inefficient. 2.5 dd aggressor balanced out the geo, faster and less bouncy than the dhr2.

    Nice, DT 1700M is a good and sturdy wheel, you should think about upgrading that hub to 54 tooth. My RM instinct BC edition also has 200 rotor in the rear, it does make a difference compared to a 180. Someone in your condition might spin out that 30 tooth Clint, i watched your century on gravel bikes, 17 mph on bikes that that is impressive to say the least. LOTS of trails here in NC are closed due to the rain and also COVID, so yesterday i did 15 on a greenway with a few hills, am looking now for some open trails.
    I had COVID or was 'suspected' of having it a few months ago and out of work for 3 weeks, endurance was TERRIBLE for a while but getting better now

    CLint beautiful new bike! I will warn you we have 4 matte Santa Cruz’s between me, my wife and our daughters and its hell to keep clean. I won’t do matte ever again on an MTB, gravel/road maybe. I would recommend investing in some Chemical Guys Matte cleaner. They sell it on Amazon its a special cleaner for matte cars like those expensive matte Tesla X’s so we figured if it was good enough some dudes $120k car it was good enough for our matte carbon frames. It is by far the best we’ve tried over the last few years since we got these bikes. We’ve tried all the cheaper bike matte finishers and they just arent as good. Get some nice high quality car detailing cloths that you can wash and reuse too. Awesome looking new bike and happy NBD!

    Thats a rad bike you got there! Ive been trying to make a decision on which bike to pull the trigger on but still have to demo a few more.
    I just moved from outside philly to NW florida(Destin) and have been searching for places to ride. Went to coldwater and oak mountain in Alabama near Birmingham last weekend and had a blast! I spoke with a few ppl that had mentioned the same thing you did.... Pisgah! Where abouts do you ride when you go up there? Do you go to north carolina to ride Pisgah? Sorry if thats a dumb question hahah

    • @ClintGibbs

      I'm thinking XL. If I were you I would call transition and get their feedback. usually if you're between sizes you go with the bigger size if you want a more stable bike and a smaller size if you want a more agile bike

    I have to ask what is the cost, and can i match or do better with a bike bought online. The answer is of course i can get better with a online bike without a doubt. Bikes direct still has enduro based carbon bikes that goes way beyond ANY boutique bike offer. Not only that but many of these boutique bikes dont really work that well for their intended purpose. These fads died a few years ago with ridiculous prices for a cad design untested. Anything over 2,500 bucks is highly skeptical unless its pure 29er downhill. The carbon wheel game is gone as well because in mtb they break if your using it for its intended purpose. Still not getting this love for over priced bikes that dont perform as well.

    • @thiosemicarbizidebenzoylal2921
      @thiosemicarbizidebenzoylal2921 4 года назад

      We are talking about a 8k cost for a unproven concept in biking marketed as a allrounder. I love your reviews, but this bike performance wise is easily matched for less than 2,500 in 2020. I still dont believe anything this company sells is T1000 carbon either. You can shape T 800 into anything you want. The bikes are cad designs that have very little to do with tried and tested. Alibaba is humiliating these prices by offering REAL higher grade materials for trail. I know because ive seen it and purchased it in the road and trail category.
