Brilliant, looks like a very robust way to model a segmented bend and looks like it will work for any bend.

***** Yes, you can test it. You should Print drawing in Paper . Cut and assemble it.

Why not do the cut on one component then do a revolve feature command?

    Hi,
Nice tutorial. I tried to rip the sheet, but is does not work. I am using Inventor 2016. Do you have a solution to this?
Create Sheet Metal Rip: problems encountered while executing this command.
    Solid4.ipt: Warnings occurred during update
Rip1: Problems occurred while building this Rip

I use sheet metal to create insulation blankets with hole patterns to wrap around tanks. It usually works fine but some times it will refuse to rip the revolution and I will get the exact same error message he is showing above me.
It's baffling because I seem to be doing the exact same thing I do when the rip does work and I get the flat pattern I am looking for. I check to make sure the sheet metal default info. including the thickness is correct and that is not the problem.
