It’s the opulence and extravagance of having such a beautiful garment and simply tossing it to the floor. It’s not in the same vein as the other obvious reveals in past finales at all
At first I wasn't a fan of sasha dropping her black coat instantly, but now I understand that that wasn't really meant as a reveal - it was meant as a way to smuggle a bed onto the stage so she could roll around on it like a playboy magazine shoot later, so I love it.
For a split second in the finale, there were two Drag KINGS on screen saying "drag kings!" in the one montage. I can't believe nobody's mentioning it, I was so excited to see kings get so much as NOTICED.
Imo Sasha had the perfect lipsync performance for Knock on wood. It gave such classic drag number vibes and the way sasha had a comically large coat really just built up hype imo so I didnt mind thee arly "reveal" and that gown strip build-up!!! and the slick bun-to-ponytail hair flip was so orgasmic!! And what really made it perfect for me is that she took her performance to the beginning of the lipsync where she used her big coat as a bed lmao she knows she looks good and she knows shes the queen of ponytail flips. She knows how to pace her numbers and knows what tricks the audience likes to see from her. Obsessed
Personally, my favourite little moment was that when Sasha was giving her crowning speech (which was amazing in itself) the way she's framed with Marciax3 behind her, it looks like she's wearing Marcia's hat
I'm really jealous of the fact that you saw the finale live, it must've been so cool. Definitely the best finale we've had in a long time, probably since S9. And Jinkx was definitely the highlight of the night for me.
Sasha used the initial coat as a prop to roll around in later which was hot. It had to go right off the bat and would be integrated into the performance later. I am totally OK with it.

I didn't think the final 2 was based on those final performances. In that case I see the confusion. I'm thinking those "Anetra's dancer got injured so they had to change her choreography at the last second" rumors came up to give reason to why Anetra's choreo would seem a little underwhelming in comparison. I loved all of them though. But anyway, Luxx ate (pretend to be shocked)

Seeing Jinkx in person gave me the same feels. Hearing the cheers, all the applause, witnessing her astounding success, it brought me to tears. She was also sweet as pie outside the stage door. We had the nicest chat while she gave me an autograph and took selfies of us.
agree on luxx (or even mistress) > anetra, but i feel like with the way the season wrapped up (double win for anetra on challenges that could've both gone to sasha imo) they were setting it up for a sasha/anetra final two. i imagine they knew the crown was going to sasha and wanted to put her up against the next best performer.
As an audio engineer, the composition of Anetra’s song was tight. Releasable. I was *impressed* Thank you for this, I sort of struggled with the jarring nature of the final lip sync visually, so to get the tea from someone who was there was really cool. You’ve given me moments to go back and rewatch just because you’re right, it was a great finale as far as performances, line up etc. I guess I wasn’t “ready” for my girl to come second again lol 😂 Ladies, you do not want me as your fan if you’re on Drag Race, you’re coming second gurl! 😂😂😂
I'm really annoyed with the amount of people (mostly young) who are dissing Knock on Wood and acting like it's not a legendary tune. It was a great final lip sync song
For doing a song about fashion I wish Luxx's outfit was giving a little more. I do agree though that her performance was my second favorite aside from Sasha's. Regardless, I think this top 4 was incredible and all four queens really proved that during the finale. None of them flopped or came even close to it.
Tbh the longer songs in the final for the contestants are rlly good. It captures the awe we have with girl group songs but i dont thimk theyll ever get as stale as them
Am I the only one who really loved Anetra’s solo performance? I think what I appreciated most about it was that it had a lot of heart. It was nice to see a finale performance that wasn’t a bitch track or a diva moment, it was simple, but in the best way possible. Also, her makeup gagged me this finale.

I LOVED anetra’s reveal and the way she handled it the ribbon, I think that moment was the best of the night. it felt like she was completely letting go and finally really feeling herself before the very end and that was so satisfying! plus it was unexpected, which is almost impossible to do with a reveal nowadays

(nerves and/or stress can often bring them on if a person is prone to getting them) She ignored it and went on anyway - I mean, what else can a performer do? But it definitely affected her presentation.
What's the point of these final performances if they're never going to matter. Daya and Mistress deserved to be in Top 2 based on their performances, but it never happened.
The times when Sasha didn't match the lipsync of her song felt very intentional for me. She knew the exact moments to stop and her facial expressions and dance more than made up for those pauses.

I feel like the thing no one talked about that had me dying of laughter was Sugar and Spice trolling in the audience. They were in every shot when it panned to the family of the queen who just performed and Spice had a shit eating grin in one of them. It was so stupid and funny.
I don't like when the reveal happens right away at start either but honestly when the lights are on you, the audience is screaming at you, you're nervous/excited and get an adrenaline rush, I totally understand why queens end up revealing too soon!
I loved this finale so much ! I feel like I’m the inly person that was bored to watch 3 or 4 lipsyncs in the same episode. It was cute on season 9 but that was it lmao
I don't think Knock On Wood was suppose to be the final number. I feel like something happened. Niether lip syncs worked. It was a strange song choice.
I enjoyed the season overall, and it introduced us to a BUNCH of amazing lipsync performers, but I don't really see myself going back to it very often unless we get extended cuts of the 40min episodes down the line. The pacing for those episodes was just *SO* off 😕 Congratulations to Sasha though. She absolutely devoured the season and represents something so important for the community.

Although I understand the metaphor she was going for with the Lotus and how it relates to her heritege and all I kinda got upset because there was such an obvious concept for Anetra to execute in this number with the same message: she could have done the ugly duck turning into a swan and it would be sooooo on brand. I do think the two finalists were already chosen before the numbers even began
I love it when the rightful queen is crowned 👑 but man, this was a great top 4 and a great cast! Thrilled to see how much effort is going into the songs now! Sasha is smart enough to know we all roll our eyes at an immediate reveal, however! NO ONE saw it coming as a bear skin rug to serve poise and sex upon lol The 2nd reveal also gagged me, I thought she was pulling out a pointing stick or something - an amazing top 4 and a satisfying finale.
To be completely honest... I was underwhelmed by this finale, especially compared to last year's. The solo performances in particular. Compared to last year's (or season 8), they were just a little.. meh. Nothing too gaggy, just choreo. Good choreo, but again, not my favourite. The only exception was Sasha's solo performance. That was on par with season 14's finale performances. And then the final lipsync.. yeah. Just a little underwhelming. I didn't understand the choice. Especially because it has already been used in a US season (season 3 I believe). But I did love the "fluff" this year! Jinkx was great, Leland was great. And I'm happy that Sasha won.
I agree, Luxx would be my choice for the top 2 with Sasha, but I knew Anetra would be there in the top with Sasha, and Sasha winning. The fan vote influenced it. I don't say that to take any from Anetra at all, it was just OVERWHELMINGLY pro Sasha and Anetra for top 2.
my hot takes: I think Luxx might be one of the most underrated performers of the entire franchise, like if sasha colby didn't exist I think she could've been an incredible winner or runner up. like idk something about the way she nails every little action and expression is so perfect and idk her stage presence is top teir in my opinion.
I really think Luxx or Mistress should’ve been lip syncing against Sasha. We get it, Anetra and Sasha was gonna be more exciting, but I truly think that Luxx or Mistress should’ve been up there going against Sasha, I especially feel that about Luxx. I don’t think anybody expected her to have such a stellar performance
Sasha's performance of Goddess is, like, literally the best thing I've ever seen on Drag Race. I guess it kinda sucks for the competition that no one else was even close, but what we got to witness from Sasha was worth it all.
She had a larger fan vote than Mistress and Luxx by miles (and higher than Sasha). While she had more low/bottom placements she also had the 2nd most wins, so track record can be argued either way. The individual performances I think only count for something if a lesser-favored queen pulls out something mind-blowingly better, or a front runner flubs in am Asia O'Hara-esque way. Obviously it's only the second year in this format and I'm postulating, but based on how they usually have run lip syncs for the crown and eliminations in general, that feels about right.
I think the way Mistress and Luxx treated other members of the cast off the show was a factor, namely the situation with Aura at Roscoes. It rubbed me the wrong way and I think Ru/WOW does pay attention to those kinds of situations in terms of both brand and general congeniality. I'd argue that the like "golden era" queens (2,3,4) were the few that were given more leeway, but in the move from Logo to VH1 and now MTV its probably at the forefront of their minds.
She technically had the second best track record of the 4 based on the way that production counts them. They don’t really do the bottom placements against wins, they just do wins, fan reception, and overall storyline. And honestly, Anetra showed the most growth and had the most engaging storyline of the season.
This finale, competition wise was very predictable, but I liked the format. I was going into it being team Mistress, but knew Sasha would win (and I was very fine with that, who doesn't like Sasha) and she destroyed the finale. It is what makes the most sense anyway. Sasha Colby on regular all star would have feel wrong and in this political contest it was a very powerful message. Anyway, I have no doubt we will see the other 3 queens return in an all stars.
IMO season 14's finale (and season as a whole) was much better than S15☠ the songs were catchier and the performances much more entertaining/interesting
Literally HATED knock on wood for the finale song, it was all kinds of wrong when they knew who was going to be lip-syncing. I can not, for any reason understand what possessed them to choose that song for the goddamn finale. Mind you, they were both incredible, but that's genuinely a given as the entirety of the top 4 are amazing performers, but still like just IMAGINE if they had don't the finale to something like "toxic" or "straight up" or "natural woman" or "god is a woman" or literally ANYTHING ELSE JESUS CHRIST. I don't normally complain, I'm usually just happy to be watching, but "knock on wood" literally made me and everyone else that was watching with me confused. Cause like (I'm still going) COME ON they really had SASHA COLBY and ANETRA and they were like, hmm I'm going to give them a song that Alexis Mateo slayed 12 years ago that only the people with hyper fixations on drag race remember because at the end of the day it wasn't even the best lip sync of the season.

This season felt like if Beyoncé decided to audition for The Voice. Everyone knew she was going to win since the cast was announced. There was no way anyone else was gonna win and that made the season lackluster, predictable, and boring. At points it felt like the judges were afraid to say something negative about Sasha, which at some points there could have been criticism. Queens spend a lot of money to compete to then see themselves with absolutely no change to win. Sasha could have been in the bottom at least once to help the season be more unpredictable and fun. Help Sasha’s hero storyline, because she was the hero with no villain. For Miss Continental that’s fine, for TV? Boring.
I'm happy Sasha won even though I was rooting for Anetra to the very end. Tbh, I didn't enjoy the final lip sync much, mainly because of the song choice but in my opinion, and I know it's probably going to be an unpopular one, Anetra won that lip sync. Also, for me, Anetra had the best song of the night and Mistress the second best song (Sasha's was a meh and I hated Luxx's song) At the end of the day, there's no objective opinion of who did the best during the finale, because it all depends on each person's opinions and what they value the most in the interpretation and songs. And, all the queens did great and were deserving of that top 4 placement. I hope we get to see the other 3 queens back for All Stars (just hope Anetra isn't back in the same season as Lady Camden because she's my other fave 🤣)

Such a satisfying win to me. drag race can pull some odd turns but seeing someone dominate and win is just so satisfying

I don't like when the reveal happens right away at start either but honestly when the lights are on you, the audience is screaming at you, you're nervous/excited and get an adrenaline rush, I totally understand why queens end up revealing too soon!

I loved this finale so much ! I feel like I’m the inly person that was bored to watch 3 or 4 lipsyncs in the same episode. It was cute on season 9 but that was it lmao
I don't think Knock On Wood was suppose to be the final number. I feel like something happened. Niether lip syncs worked. It was a strange song choice.
I enjoyed the season overall, and it introduced us to a BUNCH of amazing lipsync performers, but I don't really see myself going back to it very often unless we get extended cuts of the 40min episodes down the line. The pacing for those episodes was just *SO* off 😕
Congratulations to Sasha though. She absolutely devoured the season and represents something so important for the community.

Although I understand the metaphor she was going for with the Lotus and how it relates to her heritege and all I kinda got upset because there was such an obvious concept for Anetra to execute in this number with the same message: she could have done the ugly duck turning into a swan and it would be sooooo on brand. I do think the two finalists were already chosen before the numbers even began

Sasha is smart enough to know we all roll our eyes at an immediate reveal, however! NO ONE saw it coming as a bear skin rug to serve poise and sex upon lol The 2nd reveal also gagged me, I thought she was pulling out a pointing stick or something - an amazing top 4 and a satisfying finale.
To be completely honest... I was underwhelmed by this finale, especially compared to last year's.
The solo performances in particular. Compared to last year's (or season 8), they were just a little.. meh. Nothing too gaggy, just choreo. Good choreo, but again, not my favourite. The only exception was Sasha's solo performance. That was on par with season 14's finale performances.
And then the final lipsync.. yeah. Just a little underwhelming. I didn't understand the choice. Especially because it has already been used in a US season (season 3 I believe).
But I did love the "fluff" this year! Jinkx was great, Leland was great.
And I'm happy that Sasha won.

I agree, Luxx would be my choice for the top 2 with Sasha, but I knew Anetra would be there in the top with Sasha, and Sasha winning. The fan vote influenced it. I don't say that to take any from Anetra at all, it was just OVERWHELMINGLY pro Sasha and Anetra for top 2.

my hot takes: I think Luxx might be one of the most underrated performers of the entire franchise, like if sasha colby didn't exist I think she could've been an incredible winner or runner up. like idk something about the way she nails every little action and expression is so perfect and idk her stage presence is top teir in my opinion.

I really think Luxx or Mistress should’ve been lip syncing against Sasha. We get it, Anetra and Sasha was gonna be more exciting, but I truly think that Luxx or Mistress should’ve been up there going against Sasha, I especially feel that about Luxx. I don’t think anybody expected her to have such a stellar performance

I agree with Luxx and Sasha top 2 but I’m happy with the top 2 nontheless.
Sasha's performance of Goddess is, like, literally the best thing I've ever seen on Drag Race. I guess it kinda sucks for the competition that no one else was even close, but what we got to witness from Sasha was worth it all.
Im rlly confused how Anetra got to the final 2 with the worst track record (of the 4) and The worst final performance
She had a larger fan vote than Mistress and Luxx by miles (and higher than Sasha). While she had more low/bottom placements she also had the 2nd most wins, so track record can be argued either way. The individual performances I think only count for something if a lesser-favored queen pulls out something mind-blowingly better, or a front runner flubs in am Asia O'Hara-esque way. Obviously it's only the second year in this format and I'm postulating, but based on how they usually have run lip syncs for the crown and eliminations in general, that feels about right.
I think the way Mistress and Luxx treated other members of the cast off the show was a factor, namely the situation with Aura at Roscoes. It rubbed me the wrong way and I think Ru/WOW does pay attention to those kinds of situations in terms of both brand and general congeniality. I'd argue that the like "golden era" queens (2,3,4) were the few that were given more leeway, but in the move from Logo to VH1 and now MTV its probably at the forefront of their minds.
She technically had the second best track record of the 4 based on the way that production counts them. They don’t really do the bottom placements against wins, they just do wins, fan reception, and overall storyline. And honestly, Anetra showed the most growth and had the most engaging storyline of the season.
This finale, competition wise was very predictable, but I liked the format. I was going into it being team Mistress, but knew Sasha would win (and I was very fine with that, who doesn't like Sasha) and she destroyed the finale. It is what makes the most sense anyway. Sasha Colby on regular all star would have feel wrong and in this political contest it was a very powerful message.
Anyway, I have no doubt we will see the other 3 queens return in an all stars.
The only negative about this finale was the final lipsync song. Like WHY???
IMO season 14's finale (and season as a whole) was much better than S15☠ the songs were catchier and the performances much more entertaining/interesting
I thought that really only Sasha killed the performance... The others seemed abit lacking in energy.
Literally HATED knock on wood for the finale song, it was all kinds of wrong when they knew who was going to be lip-syncing. I can not, for any reason understand what possessed them to choose that song for the goddamn finale. Mind you, they were both incredible, but that's genuinely a given as the entirety of the top 4 are amazing performers, but still like just IMAGINE if they had don't the finale to something like "toxic" or "straight up" or "natural woman" or "god is a woman" or literally ANYTHING ELSE JESUS CHRIST.
I don't normally complain, I'm usually just happy to be watching, but "knock on wood" literally made me and everyone else that was watching with me confused. Cause like (I'm still going) COME ON they really had SASHA COLBY and ANETRA and they were like, hmm I'm going to give them a song that Alexis Mateo slayed 12 years ago that only the people with hyper fixations on drag race remember because at the end of the day it wasn't even the best lip sync of the season.
Completely agree with Sasha and Luxx being top 2! They all did great though. I wonder how they choose the final lip sync song - their song choices usually confuse me!

the more i talk to people and watch finale recaps, it looks like the majority thought is that luxx should've made top two with sasha 😩 i wish luxx had the opportunity to lip sync for the crown, since she already said she probably wouldn't go back to all stars in the near future
This season felt like if Beyoncé decided to audition for The Voice. Everyone knew she was going to win since the cast was announced. There was no way anyone else was gonna win and that made the season lackluster, predictable, and boring. At points it felt like the judges were afraid to say something negative about Sasha, which at some points there could have been criticism. Queens spend a lot of money to compete to then see themselves with absolutely no change to win. Sasha could have been in the bottom at least once to help the season be more unpredictable and fun. Help Sasha’s hero storyline, because she was the hero with no villain. For Miss Continental that’s fine, for TV? Boring.
i found luxx's ruveal unnecessary and underwhelming, I just expected a bit more from her performance than what she gave us

Tbh, I didn't enjoy the final lip sync much, mainly because of the song choice but in my opinion, and I know it's probably going to be an unpopular one, Anetra won that lip sync. Also, for me, Anetra had the best song of the night and Mistress the second best song (Sasha's was a meh and I hated Luxx's song)
At the end of the day, there's no objective opinion of who did the best during the finale, because it all depends on each person's opinions and what they value the most in the interpretation and songs. And, all the queens did great and were deserving of that top 4 placement.
I hope we get to see the other 3 queens back for All Stars (just hope Anetra isn't back in the same season as Lady Camden because she's my other fave 🤣)
