Not sure if anyone ever explained how GBB works. Just great information about the battles: hundreds (maybe even thousands) of contestants have to submit a wildcard and the best wildcards competes at GBB. First, they do 4 minutes solo elimination round and the top 16 moves on to battle. That’s why sometimes, you see them performing alone and sometimes they’re facing each other. I love how they structure the competition and can’t wait til you guys see the battles this year. It’s absolutely nuts. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 love the reaction as always.

Mostly BTK (my K snares need more work), lip roll, spit snare, zippers, D-Low zippers (but weak), vibration and throat bass, click rolls, and sega sound is what I usually use. I have a really bad inward bass, meow squeak, and inward drags I’m working on right now but it’s taking me awhile to learn. Do u beatbox too?
I think one thing that makes the #1 performance, Codfish, more insane is that the whole venue was shaking, you can see the cameras struggling to stay in place. You can see this perfectly for a few seconds @12:33 in this video. Great reaction! Looking forward to more :D
it’s weird hearing some of these without the buildup, cause that’s what makes them hit so hard. specifically like Cod’s; the entire venue was SHAKING like crazy, absolutely mad performance, i definitely think he deserved #1 or #2 here. he’s living proof more sounds/complicated routines doesn’t always = better. that’s why he’s so loved in the beatbox community, and has been a favorite of mine for 6 years now.
To put it bluntly. MB14 is one of the unbelievable beatboxers I’ve ever witnessed, he does battles, he does loopstation, he’s been on Britains got talent, he is someone who has mastered his vocal chords, and there’s no better way to put it. His art also feels so cultural, which is such a crazy thing to be able to do.

A huge part of these performances that are missed with compilations are the build ups. You get a snippet of how it got there. The crowd. The energy. The drop is 10x better when you got to see the 90s before it to build to it vs only 30s and the drop. Please. Go back and view the entire performance. Or the battle. Because it will hit so much harder. Like some of these drops were in response to the opponents round.

I will say this, for anyone who comes across this video, and scrolls the comments for information about Tomazacre, all allegations of his have been proven false, he is allowed to enter beatboxing tourneys again, and can return to his home country of Chile, but he does not plan to re-join GBB, sbb or anything else… he has an excellent music career, and plans to continue focusing on that.
