In the process of you rewarding your kids with nice things/expensive things you teach them and let them know the reason for them getting it and let them know this is not going to be all the time. Now that’s setting boundaries and they can appreciate the things they get and also it going to teach them to work hard for the things they want💯💯💯💯💯💯

Martha you and Gordon are doing an amazing job rising the girls. The older girls are coming into their identity and knows what they want. It's up to the parents to bring the balance. I glad Martha kept her cool with Mary cause that was kinda harsh. Love the both❤
Martha I’m with you on the shoes. Mary if you spend all that money on hair and nail…. It’s shouldn’t be a problem to spend that on something your kids like. Mary you can instill all the confidence in your kids you want. Once they go to school and leave your house they have a mind of their own. It’s not that simple. Right! I feel like Mary didn’t really understand because she doesn’t have kids she used to spending money on pricey things and I’m shocked that she didn’t agree…
I'm very shocked at Mary's attitude. I feel like she never shows this side on her channel. You can buy all the things for yourself but the child can't have nice things. You get chicken but me and daddy are going to have lobster because your a child. Wow
Martha a lot of people wear red lipstick without foundation so keep doing you. Some people do it to give their skin a break from makeup. Keep doing you Sis. And so not allow people to put you down. Everyone is not the same. Keep doing you.
Happy Birthday ladies. I'm a mother of twins so I love this... Now Martha please don't deprive your kids of experiencing nice things b/c at the end of the day it's all about how you and your husband raise them and what you instill in them. When my son was growing up, we bought him nice non-name brand clothes and shoes. My husband and I always taught him the importance of cleanliness and being a leader, not a follower. The bullies will be bullies regardless of what the children wear. Plus, children grow so fast it doesn’t make sense to pay a lot of money for clothes and/or shoes. In the end, it is a Mr. and Mrs. Dove call. Whatever you’ve been doing seems to work for your girls. I say continue doing that and don’t concern yourself with the rest of us. I understand both sides but I agree with Martha. It’s different once you have children and they start evolving. You don’t want them left out. I believe you & Gorden does such a wonderful job with training your girls up! That 100 pairs of Jordan’s wouldn’t taint them. Lol but seriously poverty mind sets do just as much of damage as entitlement. Love y’all God bless!!!! 🥰🫶🏾🙏🏾
Happy Birthday ladies. I agree with Martha. I provide my children to my ability because life is hard. I'm not going to make them a target unnecessarily. Kids are mean and bullying is very real. Life is not like when we were growing up and parenting has to adapt as well. You guys instill values in them and it will keep them grounded and balance. They can be spoiled, humble, and appreciative. Buying things doesn't mean they will feel entitled , as long as you continue to parent them well. Buy the Jordans they deserve it❤
There is nothing wrong with kids having brand name items as long as they know they aren’t mandatory. Also when we were growing up vs these days…bullying isn’t what it use to be now it’s more social media and whew chile…it’s one thing to keep them humble but it’s ok to keep up with the times too and no matter how you try to instill confidence in them they are still going to be subjected to seeing trends and wanting to participate in them.
Mary's talking really tough right now, let's wait until she has a kid of her own,she will most definitely be a softie mom 😂😂my kid deserves the best kind of mom.
Right! She's talking real tough. I can't wait to see how Mary does with her little ones. Martha, it's ok to get the girls the Jordans and or a few name brand items, as long as you're not going overboard. 😊
I want to see the doves in the kitchen specially cooking for a house of 7plus will be good content!! Love that the twins are in the same state again!!!! I’ve been asking for years for y’all to sing more !! So more singing videos please… ❤❤❤
Happy birthday to the both of you. I agree with Martha with the shoes, Mary don't understand yet, no disrespect to her. I'm a women of age, maybe your parents age and sometimes you have to buy your kids things that they like just don't go over board. The girls see how fly her mother and auntie is, and they want to look good too. I'm looking at Mary closet, yea her kids are going to wear stylish clothes just wait, lol.
Happy Birthday ladies🎉 There’s nothing wrong with getting kids something stylish and trendy. All kids want to feel like they are in style. They aren’t too young for that. It’s not about NEED.. it’s ok to get the kids something they want.
And the Lord will give us "things." The Kings of Judah and Israel had the best of the world's offerings as the Lord's chosen people. We all.... even our children have to choose to keep the Lord as number one and not the blessings. Like Paul said, I know how to be gracious, content whether I have much or am in need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. It's the poor in sprit who will recieve the true riches of the Lord's kingdom. You cannot erase privilege but you can teach your kids to share thier privilege. Be a blessing with the things God gives them. Some kids grow up with very little and will covet material things because they never had them. Some children have lots and share and have such graceful sprits. What you do with 5 dollars is what you'll do with 1million. Generosity and humilty is you giving out of what God has given you, whether it's 1 talent or 5. Be blessed in the Lord ladies...❤🙏🏽
What a blessing to have a sister that close to share life/friendship/ family with. That's only a dream for many of us. Continued blessings to you two and happy birthday!🎉
The excitement is out of this world! Lol You guys are acting like two ‘little friend that haven’t see each other in the longest time’ . Best decision ever to be together again👏🏻👍 the fun will be unlimited🥰 happy birthday twin 🎊🎁🎈🎂🙌
Not starting out in lack, just enough, enough or poverty doesn't equal entitlement. It's about teaching your children how to steward and be thankful over the things that they do have. Lack, just enough, enough or poverty, doesn't mean you have better character. It's okay to live a life with abundants of blesings and still teach your children morals and godly principles.
This was kind of painful for me to watch. It’s not that cut and dry. My parents were wonderful providers for five kids and my mom always wanted her children to have quality clothing and shoes. It wasn’t about the price tag. Martha and Gordon have great values which will be passed down to the girls. It’s the values that is in the household, not the label that goes on their back. There is nothing wrong with giving your kids the things that are in style or a bit on trend. As far as a cellphone, I used to think that kids shouldn’t have a phone but there is way too much going on in the world today. At 11 or 12 there isn’t anything wrong with getting your child a cellphone so they can reach their parents. Put restrictions on it and it doesn’t have to be the latest and greatest. It’s for safety. Martha you are doing great, get their sneakers!
Mary has become accustomed to the high city life; Martha is still very humble and motherly, BUT let's re-evaluate in a few months😂 Martha's coming into her own big city spirit!! I love you both and thanks for representing the North Carolina ladies with such class and grace💕
If as a parent and you can afford it, you can still establish the morals and principles in your children and still provide them what you can afford but moderation is key. Martha I agree with you but Mary will do differently with her kids in future trust me😊
Martha I love your attitude towards life, wear your lipstick I think it look great honestly. It’s definitely not country the heck with a trend, create your own trend.❤
Lady Martha, you don’t have to defend your personal convictions, views, and opinions, or for simply being who you are! Both you and your husband are excellent God fearing parents and you two are doing a great job with rearing your beautiful, strong, modest, humble, confident, and spiritual young ladies! It’s okay to treat your children with gifts, such as a pair of Jordan Shoes within moderation because you are not flashy nor materialistic! Simply, you are not a people pleaser and you are not raising young ladies with a people pleasing spirit/mentality! Blessing your young ladies with nice things is not going to cause a shift in their character because you have raised them right! I am thankful to hear that both you and your husband are sensitive to your children’s needs, wants, and desires because that is how Father God is when it comes to our concerns. They are not and will not become heady minded because of a pair of Jordans but they will be thankful and grateful young ladies because that is who you have raised them to be. You are not raising beggars but you are raising young ladies to look to God and keep their trust in HIM and not man! HE will continue to bless you and your husband’s finances to sufficiently provide more than enough for your household because Father God is the Good Shepherd, you and your Family shall not want/lack for any good thing, in the Name of Jesus! We serve a God that owns cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10); therefore, HE wants us to have the best because we represent HIM! Furthermore, you are not a “Country Bumpkin” you are free to be you to wear your beautiful red lipstick without a face full of make-up! You are still classy, confident, and gorgeous without wearing a face full of make-up every day because you wear God’s radiant Glory! Yes, you are a “Trail Blazer” and a “Trend-Setter!” In addition, just because you and your Sister are “Twins” you are not “Clones!” Stay humble Woman of God and don’t let the new environment blow your focus and God’s assignment for your lives in Texas!🙏🏾🥰❤️
I loved the car conversation I agree with Martha because we have to give a little somtimes when raising children. I have never been a name brand person and i didn't raise my kids thay way either. I think when you keep your kids grounded they'll be okay and I think you and your husband do an outstanding with your girls.
Martha you got all the good angles of Mary’s “surprise”; I’m sooo happy your family relocated just in time to offer her that loving sister/twin support❤️ #Priceless
I respect both point of views. Everyone's parenting styles will be different and it's a complex topic to discuss which may please some and offend others. If some relate to Mary or Martha's idea of parenting then you may resonate or retaliate. Open dialogue is important and it doesn't involve arguing or placing one's idea of parenting beneath yours. This is a great conversation and it's not discussed as often in today's society. If Martha wants to reward her kids with Jordan's then that's her prerogative. If Mary would approach the situation differently as it pertains to rewards for her future children ? that's her prerogative. Great convo and vlog !
Martha. I LOVE your red lips! I was thinking that even before Mary said she didn’t like it! And it’s not country!!!🙄🙄🙄 I’m glad you both are together living in the same city, because I know you both are close! Is alright to give your children nice things but I know you and your husband are raising them to be great young women! Mary say all that now but look how she is living so I know her children will have the best and that’s ALRIGHT! If God gives His children the best why can’t we give ours the same!
Happiest birthday ladies! Martha, you and your husband are doing an amazing job with your girls. As a mother I completely understood what you were verbalizing. Not the feeling of necessity to buy “Jordans” or expensive items for the girls but wanting ensure that they stay current on some of the latest trends. As long as the foundation has been established (which is evident with your girls) the purchase of expensive items such Jordans won’t sway their views/ values. Which is why we have to constantly communicate with our children. While I understand and agree with some of Mary’s points times have changed. As a teacher I too see how mean spirited children can be to one another. I feel that a lot of Mary’s views will change when she begins to expand her family.
Watched You Both on Mary's Channel yesterday & You 2 had Me 😂 Now glad You're posting Martha & yes You 2 'are' My Favorite Twins 🤗 We do need to be careful in what We buy for Our Children just for it to be for status purposes, when in turn should be for comfort while still being stylish. Happy Blessed Birthday to You Both, here's praying GOD'S continued Blessings upon You Both 🥰 Be Blessed 😇
Chile, I can’t wait until Mary have kids, she’s gonna have a different outlook! Ohhhh Martha, just wait, It’s gonna be too funny & cute when you say Mary, what are you buying those for etc… Martha, it’s ok to get the Jordan’s, she’s going to middle school & old enough to know that shoes & things don’t make her, you & your hubby are doing a great job. I think you guys have a good grip on the girls and will continue to get what they need and a little of what they want so they don’t become entitled. Mary it’s ok to say no to the kids so they understand you & your beliefs/ ways but don’t take away from Martha’s one pair of Jordan’s a year. On the other hand, it’s sooo good to see that you two can have a talk without hating on each other. Love y’all sooo much!
Martha, we are more likely to be influenced by those who are closest to us. Good or bad. Nevertheless, continue to be you. Happy Birthday to both of you🎉🎉🎉🎉
I get what both sisters were saying during the car ride. I’m a parent, I was picked on about shoes I forget which grade but also wasn’t built up much to be confident. As a parent I know there will be hurts in the world but if I can do something to help lessen the possibility of it, in this case it was their attire, then I will do my best. I also won’t overspend because I also want to help be a better steward of my money and teach my children as well. And thanks for sharing the prayer, it will be added.
First off y’all are hilarious 😂 😂 and yall look JUST alike especially at the end. I left a similar comment on your sister’s video but as far as the car convo I see both sides. At the end of the day we only get one shot at parenting (my day hasn’t come yet) so you want to do well. Create rules that will enforce balance. So perhaps spurge once a quarter on the kids but set a budget and stick to it. Building confidence is found in knowing who you are which is in Christ alone. So carrying that knowledge in everything from appearance to education is key. Im of the belief , that when the crown is done, clothes are pressed, and confidence is high you are a force to be reckoned with. Anyway y’all are gorgeous and I pray you continue to flourish is this space. Happiest of Birthday ladies. 🥳🥳🥳
As long as the girls understand that this is not a need and that if the time comes when i cant afford those frills you will understand and fall in line. But I'm all for buffering your children from unnecessary stressors. It's about picking your battles
Love this dialogue between the both of you concerning the girls. And I definitely understand where Mary is coming from. But I also feel that kids today are no different than how we were liking what’s trendy. Now do they need all trends? Absolutely not. I agree having the confidence to stand strong in anything you’re in. But I also believe if a child likes something, if they’re handling their business in school and at home, why not be rewarded with it? There’s a healthy balance. Also, there’s a healthy balance as kids get older with being honest with him about cost of things and where you are as parents providing for a full family. I definitely think the way you and your husband are raising your girls, they will be super receptive to those conversations. But love this dialogue. And love you both. But Sis. Mary, we are excited to see you in the future with kids. And circle back to this conversation lol
As a mom you just need to be a mama to know what Martha is saying. A lot of things are not “necessary” but nice haves. Mary give your self time and have those children and then you’ll know. Mama Martha do what you need to do for them babies. Jordan’s won’t change character. Be open and take care of your babies.

I agree with Mary with the fashion trends. Kids can dress nice witout feeling forced to fit in or feel confident. I know you and Gorden talk with them about what to wear and the surroundings, and expectations. Love yall. Loving the vlog. ❤
Martha you and Mary said yourself your girls are wonderful. So apparently you and Gordon know what you're doing. It's not gonna harm them in anyway to have Jordan's. Just make sure their priorities are in order just as you've been doing.
Happy Birthday Mary and Martha🎉 Martha in my opinion as a parent of a teenager in high school you reassure them that material things is not what defines you or equate to good grades. I do buy Nike shoes, but they don’t have to be the latest and most popular shoes. Furthermore these kids are mostly wearing Crocs and hoodies everyday, so don’t think so much into what other kids are saying about what your child(ren)have on. I’m enjoying the vlog 😊
Happy Birthday Ladies!🎉 Y'll are hilarious🤣🤣 beautiful daughters with all beautiful natural hair ! Martha rock your red lip , girl. You both look gorgeous for dinner and photo shoot (go Queens!👑)🌻You both have beautiful sister relationship💛

Also, see how "mean" Mary was when she felt like you weren't doing things "right" with the fashions - see how she didn't care about your individualism - Yea, well middle schoolers are worse lol - Get the Jordans

Totally agree with you Martha!❤️❤️❤️
I will for sure buy my kids nice brands. Not in a spoiling way but for them to know and experience nice luxury things.
Man I bet she’s going to spoil her kids!
Awww Martha it’s so nice to hear Mary talk about your girls with such love and excitement that they are closer ❤
Y’all looks beautiful 😊
Awww thanks!! 🥰
Yes. There is nothing wrong with it!! 🥰
Lol Mary is upset about those nails. 😂 she shocked Martha with “those are the best your toes have ever looked” 😂
Mary and ALL her shade😏
Right!! I agree!! I don’t believe that we have to oppress or withhold things from our kids to build character!! 😅
@@gordenmarthadove122well said! ❤❤❤❤❤love you guys❤❤❤❤
*Well stated* agree! 💯
Agree❤❤
She’s still down home and the sweetest!! 🥰
I suspect Martha is older than Mary
If as a parent and you can afford it, you can still establish the morals and principles in your children and still provide them what you can afford but moderation is key. Martha I agree with you but Mary will do differently with her kids in future trust me😊
Martha your beautiful inside and out😊
Thank you!!❤
I agree with Mary. Kids have time to grow into luxury.
I am glad you put Mary in her place...you are you and she is Mary!! MARTHA CONTINUE YOU DO "YOU" !!
Right! I thing she tried to throw her under the bus!
Martha I love your attitude towards life, wear your lipstick I think it look great honestly. It’s definitely not country the heck with a trend, create your own trend.❤
I'm glad you both enjoyed your birthday. Sounds like it's a transition being back together again.
When I tell you this sister-ship made my heart smile 🥰🥰🥰!!! HAPPY 🎉BIRTHDAY
Awwww🥰🥰
When Martha took off her lipstick i could not tell them apart until they spoke. Real identical. ❤❤
Yes they do look alike but I can tell them apart!
Lol 😂
Aww yes I think Gordon should have a cooking show!
Martha I think a red lip is always chic with or without foundation 💋. It looks good on you.
The love Mary is expressing for her nieces is undeniable! I understand both sides. 😘
Yes she loves her nieces. I understand as well. 🥰
Martha you got all the good angles of Mary’s “surprise”; I’m sooo happy your family relocated just in time to offer her that loving sister/twin support❤️ #Priceless
Thanks!! That was so sweet of her!!🥰
You ladies look so much alike without make up!!🥰🥰💯
And the both of you have such beautiful voices!!!🤩😃👍🏾❤️
Sing more ladies!!!
Happy Birthday twins. Martha do whatever you & Gordon decide about your girls. Everyone has an opinion when it is not their children.
I love your glasses Martha!!
I am about building confidence within our kids. At the same time our kids should not have to suffer to prove at point (if you can afford it).
Right😂 it’s a thin line!!
Y’all are some beautiful young ladies ❤️💯An again Happy Birthday 🎁 🎁🎉🎂
Martha. I LOVE your red lips! I was thinking that even before Mary said she didn’t like it! And it’s not country!!!🙄🙄🙄
I’m glad you both are together living in the same city, because I know you both are close!
Y'all are amazingly beautiful together. Happy Belated Birthday! I just love you two.
Thank you!!🥰
I have started to wear red lipstick for my everyday look... I love it lol
Watched You Both on Mary's Channel yesterday & You 2 had Me 😂 Now glad You're posting Martha & yes You 2 'are' My Favorite Twins 🤗
We do need to be careful in what We buy for Our Children just for it to be for status purposes, when in turn should be for comfort while still being stylish.
Happy Blessed Birthday to You Both, here's praying GOD'S continued Blessings upon You Both 🥰
Be Blessed 😇
Thanks and I agree with that point of view as well!😅
Chile, I can’t wait until Mary have kids, she’s gonna have a different outlook!
You both look gorgeous! 🎂💞
Gordon should have his OWN cooking show😊 I agree with baby girl about that❤.
I agree as well!!😅
As long as the girls understand that this is not a need and that if the time comes when i cant afford those frills you will understand and fall in line. But I'm all for buffering your children from unnecessary stressors. It's about picking your battles
Love you two together. It’s the sibling squabbles for me Mary leave Martha alone I love the brows and lip stick💕 y’all are so funny
Thanks and I agree !!😅
❤❤❤ Happy birthday, ladies!!! Keep the content coming Doves family... also, I can't wait for the food content from you guys!! Can we get a fashion show from the girls with their back to school look, Martha!! We know they will be stylish and confident in whatever you select for them. ❤😊
Thanks and I’ll keep that in mind.
Happy Birthday Beautiful Queens.🥳🥳 Martha keep up the Good Work. You are raising such Godly and Wonderful Young Ladies. I Love you and Mary relationship. Once again, Welcome to Dallas. So glad to have you here. Be Blessed. 🥰
I wear lipstick, eyebrows, and mascara with no foundation too Martha 😂
Yes!!👏🏾👏🏾❤️
I agree with Mary with the fashion trends. Kids can dress nice witout feeling forced to fit in or feel confident. I know you and Gorden talk with them about what to wear and the surroundings, and expectations. Love yall. Loving the vlog. ❤
I couldn’t tell y’all apart for a sec when you had on the robes and headbands 😅
O an again congratulations Mrs Mary 👶🏽👶🏽😉
Yep, the girls are phenomenal!
Great conversation about money, success, children, etc. Need more of these conversations.
Thanks and will do!!😅
Happy Birthday Ladies!🎉 Y'll are hilarious🤣🤣 beautiful daughters with all beautiful natural hair ! Martha rock your red lip , girl. You both look gorgeous for dinner and photo shoot (go Queens!👑)🌻You both have beautiful sister relationship💛
Thanks so much!!🥰
Happy birthday mrs dove 🎊
Happy Birthday Martha & Mary! My favorite twins on RUclips!! ❤
Absolutely gorgeous. I'm glad you moved to Texas to be closer to your sister. It's great seeing the two of you together more often creating content and making memories. Happy Birthday, enjoy! Thanks for sharing. Blessings to you both always. 🎉
Also, see how "mean" Mary was when she felt like you weren't doing things "right" with the fashions - see how she didn't care about your individualism - Yea, well middle schoolers are worse lol - Get the Jordans
I ❤ the love y’all have for each other. Sisters & Friends. Love It!
Thanks!!❤
Awwww🥰🥰
I know BOTH of you are glad that you are together again!!
I love Matha love it. The energy is on glory be the Lord.
I like doing my eyebrows & putting on a lipstick too because I don’t like to wear makeup. Foundation & powder make my skin feel like it’s being smothered 😅
I agree with both sides! I definitely understand what Mary is talking about.
You ladies looked fabulous the dresses were the perfect fit for you both. Happy Birthday 🎉❤
Your girls are the sweetest, they brighten my day everytime❤🇹🇹
