Ok i have the Argentina FN not the FM.. does anybody know how many were made under the contract FN in Argentina? I know they started producing FM after the contract was up
As a piece of history, I really like the 1911, and the HI-Power is quite possibly the most popular/successful handgun of the 20th century. Thank you for watching, cheers.
Great review as always, Misha. My neighbor has an Argentine Ballester- Molina with a broken extractor, not interchangeable with a 1911 part. Any ideas on a replacement ? We've tried Numrich and all the other internet sources with no luck.
Hey friend, greetings from Argentina. Even here is pretty much impossible to find replacement parts for BM's other than the interchangeable parts with 1911 adaptations, such as the Sistema 1927; so your friend is probably better off checking with a gunsmith to actually make a new extractor. *Correction: I've watched a video from a local youtuber who states that the extractor is actually interchangeable with 1911A1 extractors; are you certain that the extractor isn't compatible with 1911 ones? As far as I knew all of the slide parts needed to be interchangeable with the Colt copies the Army was using back in the day. Hope this was helpful!
Um bom armeiro fábrica pra Vc, basta tirar a peça pra ver as medidas e levar no armeiro... Você não encontra peças de reposição, das balester molina, tive que mandar fazer um carregador para 15 rodadas, e uma mola de percursor.. Ficou top
On the Ballester-Molina, while I would take any 1911 magazine, even modern ones, the original BM magazines won't fit well (or at all) in a 1911 or Sistema, because they are a hair shorter. On the Hi-Power. FMAP (now just FM) in Argentina still make them in the form of FM M95 and Detective (shorter slide, 4" barrel), which are pretty much based on the FN HP Mark III (ambidextrous thumb saferty, firing pin block), except that they lack the distinctive HP lightening cuts on the front end of the slide. Ergo, it's more 1911'ish in that respect. They also have variants with the Safe Fast Shooting kit installed, which changes the way the safety works.
Completely agree. The Star Model B is a surprisingly excellent firearm for the money. Mine has a really nice trigger too and the ergonomics are spot-on for me.
Had marina , also , now FMAP, AND STAINLEESS, TARGET , , HAFDASA, ONE DID NOT HAVE GUIDE TOD : , one taken from backpack , FMAP , AND MARINA , Now know. It was MARINA , , THX ,

LOL, love the cat walking right in front of the camera like "fuck your videos, I'll do what I want".
They have to put in at least a couple of appearances in each video. Otherwise, it just wouldn't feel right.
love the old 1911s really cant stand the new ones.. i had a few stars and a old colt i sold years ago and wish id never of let them go
