Nice collection! I've never seen The Lady Takes a Chance, so it will go on my "to find and watch" list. I have The Shootist in a John Wayne box set but haven't yet watched it. One film I would recommend is a 1938 B Western called Overland Stage Raiders, one of dozens of low-budget films he made before hitting it big with Stagecoach. The film is notable as the final appearance of legendary actress Louise Brooks. It's fascinating to see these two iconic actors together. His career is about to explode into great fame and hers is ending. Wayne also made an early non-Western appearance in the Barbara Stanwyck classic Baby Face (1933), which is a terrific film.
Thanks so much for the recommendation! I have not seen very many John Wayne films so I am interested in checking out some of his best work. I admit that the reason I purchased The Lady Takes a Chance was purely for Jean Arthur, but glad it also provides me with another John Wayne film. I appreciate you checking out this video!
This is awesome, thanks so much for the recommendations, I really appreciate it! I’m not super familiar with Wayne’s filmography, so this is really helpful. Thanks for checking out this video!
Great collection of John Wayne films here, Jon. I'm with you and JW is a big blind spot in my movie watching. I've seen and enjoyed True Grit and The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance but that's about it. My dad is a huge John Wayne fan so I'm always looking for new ones to send his way. After seeing this, I think I have a few for my "Jon Box" 😂😂😂 Thanks for sharing. I always enjoy these celebration videos.
I really enjoyed The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, but with James Stewart in it, it had to be great. I’m looking forward to checking out True Grit, I absolutely loved the remake, so I should probably see the original. That’s cool your Dad is into John Wayne. I feel like since JW is such a film legend I should have seen more of his films, but I just haven’t got around to it. “Jon box”, ha ha, thanks Stephanie. Thanks for checking out this video, I really do enjoy making these kinds of videos.
Nice start to the JW collection. Of the ones you currently have, I would push "The Searchers" to the top of my watch list. Going forward, and you have a few already, get all of the John Wayne/John Ford collaborations. JW has so many great movies, but his films with director John Ford are spectacular, especially the westerns like "The Horse Soldiers", "She Wore a Yellow Ribbon", Fort Apache", "The Searchers" and "3 Godfathers". Just Google the full list.
Thanks so much for your recommendations, I really appreciate it! I am pretty new to his filmography so this is super helpful. I need to map out which films of his I want to pick up next. Thanks for checking out this video!
I don’t think I’ve seen to many John Wayne films, at least not off the top of my head but my favourite would have to be “The Man who Shot Liberty Valance”!
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance is so good! Seeing a film featuring two legends like Wayne & Stewart was a lot of fun. Thanks so much for checking out this video!
Definitely recommend Sands Of Iwo Jima,In Harm's Way,The Fighting Seabees and Chisum!

The Shootest my favorite. Love your insight and once again a great review.
I’m really looking forward to watching that film, especially with it’s stacked cast. Thanks so much for checking out this video!

I need to watch more myself. I’ve only seen a few, but what I have seen were great. Thanks for checking out this video!
