Please to disregard my rant from 5 months ago (I'll probably even delete it)... Because it's time for the FINAL SEASON! HYPE! LONG LIVE THE KING and BELIEVE IN THE PEEKO
Hop killed 5 (Moose, Spero the Litwick, Censored, Nerd and Feral Imp) Milo killed 2 (Zoom the Helioptile, Esketit) Nessa killed 2 (Hollow and Kuno) Kabu killed 1 (Zoa the Espeon) Bede killed 2 (Watermalone and Cane) Bea killed 5 (Moses, Moosetwo, Coco, Sailor Venus, Speederwag) Opal killed 1 (Tora the Incineroar) Gordie/Melony killed 0 haha losers Marine killed 4 (Lucy, Sailor Mars, Clare, Raphael) Piers killed 1 (Grim the Hydreigon) Raihan killed 5 (Jola the Galvantula, Flamesman the Duraludon, Greed, Zero the Dusk Mane Necrozma, Speedwagon) Insane bro, Raihan, Hop, Bea and Marnie the real menaces. Raihan has a chance to overtake everyone with the upcoming battle lmao Also funny how Bea and Nessa were the only gym leaders (aside from the useless Gordie/Melony combo lol) where Ttar didn't lose any members in the initial gym challenge, only for them to come during the champion cup and destroy Ttar lmao. Gonna be fun to see how it goes further
As sad as I am that we're most likely never going to see what happens with Bea, Raihan, Leon, Rose, Eternatus, the Sword Doggos, and everything involving the IoA and CT, I could tell Thamill needed to let the series end abruptly. By the time he finished the final gym leader fight with Raihan, flipped him off, and said "F- this series", it was clear that Thamill was starting to get frustrated with his progression, having to rebuild his team from the ground up, again and again, spending hours grinding on wild Pokemon, only for the next major fight to ultimately wipe his party out, leaving King to clean up the blood of his armies, and barely scrapping by during some fights. People often complained that Thamill didn't spend enough time training, that he has going into insanely challenging fights with Pokemon far too underleveled to do anything outside of chip damage, status inflictions, or just straight up death fodder. While getting to appropriate levels is always important in Nuzlockes, especially Extreme ones, I truly believe that even if he was at decent enough levels for his teams to take hits, the game did and would continue to blow a hole in his strategies and ultimately bring him to square one with few to no surviving Pokemon outside of King. Dynamaxing especially is what really kicked this playthrough into unreasonably tedious moments. No matter what way you look at it, it is a broken mechanic that, from the get-go, made this playthrough 10x harder than his previous Extreme Nuzlockes. As far as I'm aware, Mega Evolutions and Z-Moves weren't really a prominent issue for Thamill to overcome in Alpha Sapphire and/or Sun. Dynamaxing on the other hand, played an active role in numerous deaths and countless shortcomings on his end. Alpha Sapphire and Sun had low moments and cruel deaths, but he wasn't constantly stretching the margin of just barely having "A team" going forward. Even after numerous legendary encounters, lucky moments (Thanks to the Lax Incense and pure RNG) and OP abilities in the form of Kuno and Hollow, the game still snuck under his nose and dug the grave for those members too, and there was little to nothing he could have done to avoid it. Again, it is really unfortunate that the series had discontinued, still leaving quite a bit of the story undiscovered. But at the end of the day, what matters is that Thamill enjoys making these series. He's easily one of the most entertaining Poketubers to this day, with his quirky dialogue and amazing reactions, he will always put a smile on my face everytime he uploads. With Divine Diamond continuing, and with most likely an Extreme series for Arceus Legends and/or Scarlet/Violet in the future, I give props to Thamill for his consistent efforts and strength to continue these entertaining and heart retching Nuzlockes.
