If there is no debate then there would be arbitrary implementation of things that were not agreed upon and are not policies. Debates are the cornerstone of ideas where eventually we get to agree on a policy position. We cant, a nation that had CODESA, be irritated by debates.

where was this in the last 30yrs the minute the minister who isnt their friend get in office they got something to say, none of the previous ministers who actually got us where we are now were told any of this, the man just got in office weeks ago, give a minute let's see what he's all about then start talking, dont assume that's he knows because that's all he talked about on a social media post, this man should be lecturing ANC about what government is all about because it seems like they still haven't understood its mandate to this day
The national anthem is a non issue! You know I commend the EFF/ANC Youth League of Malema. They were the ones who piqued my interest in Die Stem. I understand that it is from a South African history whose remnants we seek to rid ourselves of. Nonetheless, if one took the time to read and understand it, you will find that it is a beautiful pledge to serve the country. Nothing to do with Europe/whiteness or anti-blackness, it is, instead a pledge to serve South Africa.
As a South African it is my duty to serve this country and I think that this country has higher priorities to worry about. Not Die Stem!
Same can be said about the old flag, I don't any racists symbols on it, but you will still say it symbolizes the apartheid regime. Using the same argument I would say the same for the anthem.

The old flag is divisive by its nature because if you study it, the Main patterns are that of the Dutch / Afrikaner flag. Within the flag are flags of the old 2 Afrikaner republics, Transvaal and Oranje Vrystaat followed by the Union Jack. This flag represented a compromise between the Afrikaners and the British government of the time in 1928 when South Africa moved from being the Union of SA to RSA. As you can tell there is no mention of the black majority. In 1994, this was repealed and replaced by the new Rainbow Nation RSA Flag.
This explanation differs from that of the above-mentioned anthem explanation, where the anthem speaks nothing of the Afrikaners, the British, nor the majority black citizenry, but of service to South Africa. With Reconciliation and the Creation of the Rainbow Nation, South Africa then took the 1st stanza of Die Stem (non-divisive as a poem, nor the song, I’ve read the whole poem by CJ Langenhoven) and concatenated it with Nkosi Sikelela, a Hymn and what evolved into a Pan-African liberation anthem.

He wants the lucrative private sector business' to be in control of the black majority but forgets that every State controlled Operating Enterprise (SOE), like Eskom and SA Airways has been destroyed, looted and being looted right at this very moment by his very own connected and privileged presently advantaged people!!!

Go and do some research on the origin and meaning of Morena Boloka and Nkosi Sikelela, once you’ve understood their meaning and purpose you’ll understand why “Die stem” is so problematic as part of the national anthem. Hence why Fana is rightfully asserting that Afrikaans people are not the problem, the problem is what the lyrics in Die Stem mean.
