If Josh Giddey starts shooting 3s at above 36% and Chet looks as good as he did in summer league... its over OKC is gonna be a dynasty. They're already like 6 players deep in terms of players who could get minutes on a playoff team and they're all still developing.

he was taught by Andrew Gaze an Aussie god of BBALL. At 6'6 Andrew could dunk but rarely did. He had amazing longevity. He maintained his body excellently. When he went to the Spurs the staff were amazed at Andrews leg strength in the gym. Apparently he did big numbers. But again never dunked. I believe Josh has adopted that Philisophy.

Giddey probably only has a high 20" max vert off a run.
NBA average is probably about 26" standing and 34" running
He definitely is one of the least vertical non bigs in the NBA. He has about as hard of a time dunking as the average 6'2" player. Ie you give him an open lane, full speed and take off room and he can dunk easily but not forcefully. But he's not dunking while not at full speed or with a great takeoff. He's the definition of a below the rim player

Career highs? It's his second season. He's better now than he was as a rookie, which isn't really surprising by any measure. The fact that we're all here watching a highlight video is appreciation. I need everyone to stop acting like every player should be in the headlines all the time. People who are aware of basketball are aware of his improvement, and it will matter more when the Thunder start winning.

The thunder will win a chip in around 5 years as long as the players they have stay and develop on this pace. It’s also easy to see future mvps on this team
I agree, with this young core we are in a great position to make a big run in the playoffs, this year ain't out of the question either not saying we win anything shit I'm optimistic not delusional,but we will gain some extremely valuable playoffs time if we can get through the play in that alone is valuable experience for the youngins I'm hyped.

Why is it necessary for an NBA player to dunk to make him any good? Josh is continuously being put down and told he is a hopeless player because he does not dunk. Let's get some facts going, he played the most games of any player on OKC's roster this season, he was #2 in points scored behind SGA, #1 in rebounds, and #1 in assists and he is only 20 years old. For all the haters out there check Josh's stats for the second half of this season then comment.
Dunking has just become a traditional standard for NBA guys 6'6"+. Since Giddey is 6'8", it's just expected for him to dunk. I see nothing wrong with him not dunking because he easily makes up for it with his incredible passing IQ and scoring ability.

@TheBoxingReport it's not efficient enough whatsoever yet. So far he's definitely a 4th-5th option starter, but he isn't a star until he can score more efficiently. But yeah he is not a bust, and he can't be a disappointment.
As much as I enjoy watching him play, He needs a bit more explosiveness at times. A guy his size who struggles to dunk is sad and his defence is pretty timid also.
Hopefully he can turn it up a bit as he matures.
