Next time you season thighs, pull the skin side back and season it like you would the bottom side. Put skin back on a lightly season again. I have found that is a good way to get a balanced bite of meat.
I do the boneless skinless thighs a lot. Very easy to grill and I like the dark meat. Drumsticks are my favorite tasting part of the chicken but can be a bit messy when eating.
Thank you Ry… I’m cooking some bone in chicken thighs on the Weber Kettle, following the same method (different flavors, spices) ..& I can’t wait to try it out!!!
Just did a chicken thigh and chicken wing vortex for the Superbowl. Bought the vortex after watching one of your videos. I'll definitely try this recipe out too.
Hi Ry, your videos have kept me going for the last few days, some have been reruns to myself. Had a heart attack on thursday at work, still in hospital. Keep up the good work and recipes.
Looks great!! Where I live, it would be hard to get a couple of those ingredients…Amazon deliveries of liquid goods will work once we get past sub freezing temps. I have used that grill method with good results. Thanks for all you do!
Your videos have always been great, but you can tell you’ve bought some quality equipment, as well you have gotten lots of practice making videos over the years. Fantastic job Sir, and the music is perfect too..cook on! 🔥
Bro with all the craziness going on everywhere in the world and in our country with race and politics, I love your channel and content. Your incredible talent and recipes are a in my backyard. You definitely made me a better bbq guy and you deserve the credit. Keep up the great content and I will always support your channel.
Yum! I think you were channeling grilled chicken! I suddenly decided to make some this afternoon on the way back from an afternoon fly fishing trip. Your grilled and glazed chicken thighs look great! I've been very happy with the Mr. Stubbs Chicken Spice Rub to get my chicken started on the grill. I need to try your glaze this spring!
Hey man, been a while since I interacted (used to love popping in on your live streams and asking questions with the community; really miss those!). I got a Vortex for Christmas this year!!! I ran straight to your videos, because you're the one that made me want one. THIS is what I'll try first (as soon as my grate with the hole in the middle that I ordered gets here lol), cause that glaze sounds amazing. Hope all is well and you and yours have an awesome new year!
Ry, you have some great recepies. I love my Weber Kettle and cook on it twice a week, however I am not a fan of the Vortex as eveything that drips of the meat ends up on the sides of the Kettle and eventually makes its way to the bottom making the cleanup next day a nightmare. I much prefer the Slow and Sear set up with the big drip tray in the bottom....much cleaner!
I've been researching the vortex. I noticed some BBQ'ers turn the lid every 15 minutes so the vent doesn't remain over just one section of the food. Is this anything you would consider or suggest? It seems logical since the heat emanates from the center of the grill as opposed to one side with a 2 zone setup. Great recipe as always thanks!
Cooking With Ry - Question for ya, do you know where I can get a grate like yours but for my 26 inch Weber Kettle ? I'd really like to have one very similar but Cast Iron that fits my 26 inch. I can't seem to find either one.
I have looked at the vortex for my 22 in kettle and they have different sizes. Do you know what size you have? Enjoy your content, from one orange countian to another!
I’ve used them to concentrate the charcoal at the center. They work. When I want really high heat I can load up the vortex and it’s like a blowtorch 🔥😂
Ry I love your channel. I totally agree that the thighs are the filet mignon of chicken. I recently discovered a new gadget for the Weber kettle called the FireDial from Lavalock. You have a lot of kettle accessories. Have you had any experience with this product? I'd love to see if this is worth adding to my kettle arsenal. I haven't seen many videos with this on a kettle but it seems quite popular with Weber smokey mountain owners. Keep your videos coming Ry. It's wonderful to see how you have grown your channel. I'm totally jealous that you were gifted the line star grillz offset. So good to see you doing well after that stroke. Take care of yourself.
Bone in thighs are EASY on the Weber. Save your money and pass on the Vortex. It's not needed, get a good flame going and sear both sides of the chicken and set to indirect for the finish.
I’ve done it many different ways. Baskets. No baskets. Vortex. I find the Vortex gives the best results along with being versatile in use for different cooking methods.
Man I want to like chicken thighs so much but, I just don't.... Did a spatchcock chicken a few weeks ago, everything else was great but, just could not like them.
The atmosphere of your videos is amazing. The music is great.
Thank you 😊
100% agree
Love it when there's not too many ingredients and a fairly quick cook. Will be trying this for sure but with a little less sriracha .
Next time you season thighs, pull the skin side back and season it like you would the bottom side. Put skin back on a lightly season again. I have found that is a good way to get a balanced bite of meat.
Glad to see the vortex back. Looks great
I’ve followed this approach and my chicken came out great. I did brine it for 24 hours. Thank you.
So relaxing and such good looking food.
Thanks
finally ordered my vortex 🔥

Gotta get a "Vortex" for my kettles! Those look TASTY Ry!!!
Looks great!
Thank you for another enjoyable tutorial.
Can't wait to try the Chili Honey Glaze on some thighs. Very nice video!!!
That chicken looked beautiful Ry. Nice cook, Thanks!
This has to be the best chicken glaze, fantastic. Loving your vids and how you present all your info.
Thank you for the kind words 😊
Well presented and explained. Nice speed and the music is great, too. Thanks for sharing.
I use this method all the time, I'll try your glaze next time. Looks tasty !!!!
Thanks for another great video
Going to try this with some chicken leg/thigh quarters on the pellet grill when it gets a little nicer out. Thanks for the nice video.
Just did a chicken thigh and chicken wing vortex for the Superbowl. Bought the vortex after watching one of your videos. I'll definitely try this recipe out too.
Great video, thanks my man.
I agree Ryne. Bone in Thighs are my fav . So forgiving. Love em for tacos or nachos or just as is.
Looks delicious. Gonna have to give this a try 👍🏾
Hi Ry, your videos have kept me going for the last few days, some have been reruns to myself.

Oh no! Take care and get better 🙏
Looks amazing
Bro I love your videos. So calming and excellent

This was a great video! I love the addition of the chili crisp!

LOOKS GOOD!!!!!

I have the medium sized Weber kettle grill. Would the mini work on it ok

I’ve never noticed much difference when doing that since most hot vortex cooks are relatively short.
That looks awesome, Ry. With your glaze, what would you substitute the sriracha with? I love spicy but, dislike sriracha.
I would just pick your favorite hot sauce 👍
Quick question I bought the med size vortex is that a good size for a 22 inch weber? Thanks for all the info on your channel im learning alot.
That’s the one I have for my 22” 👍
@@CookingWithRy thanks

I don’t know of a cast iron 26. But I believe The Burn Shop can make custom carbon Steel grates in that size.
love your videos mate

I believe mine is the medium. The link in the video description should show which exact one I have 😊
Looks delicious!! What is the size of the weber you are using?
22 inch 😊
@@CookingWithRy thank you
Have you ever used the Webber charcoal baskets as a vortex? Thanks
I’ve used them to concentrate the charcoal at the center. They work. When I want really high heat I can load up the vortex and it’s like a blowtorch 🔥😂

Hi! I can’t say I’ve heard of that. I’ll have to look into it 👍
Looks amazing. I wonder if a ring of turkey legs would turn out as well.
I think so, but you might not need the temperature as high as
Enjoy you videos
Hey Ry. Where do you get your music for your videos?
Epidemic Sound. It’s a music licensing service.
Sometimes things aren't "needed" but they enhance the overall experience and end result. The vortex ensures an even heat throughout the grill.
Awesome video. Chicken looks great.. no need to flip thighs?? I flip @15 minutes, total of 30 min plus 10min with bbq sauce. 👍👍
I don’t really flip when doing indirect. Less work 😊
👍😊
How's your health going?
Doing great 👍
Man I want to like chicken thighs so much but, I just don't.... Did a spatchcock chicken a few weeks ago, everything else was great but, just could not like them.
So easy to get heat up in grill with out burning food is that my assumption
