Amazes me that people will scrap a perfectly good power plant. I've got an old kabota single banger diesel given to me a few weeks back.... might have to get that working now you've inspired me. Very interesting video
I got an old trencher with an SR2 in for cheap. I'm not an engine guy, but managed to swap the cylinders and pistons, clean both the top injector/valve housings and set the injector pumps by myself, just following the service manual. Really felt like an achievement and runs brilliantly now.
I still remeber, socket 55mm for the flywheel bolt haha. Regarding that front main bearing you should no worry. Its not gona make any noises, I can assure you if you make a new main bearing and take it apart after couple of hours of running you will find that the copper is gone starting to show up. They have a heavy flywheel for that little amount of white metal. You made a very good job of taking it apart. You certainly did it the best way, you also dis assembled more parts than you should. Good job for the pump.
@@turboconqueringmegaeagle9006 It will run, if you put it back right. Just be carful for the rack teeth as one tooth off can leed to suffer from start or not shutting down. BTW which location do you live in, I should visit UK in June.

Flexi-hone, I thought every American had a set. Too many horror stories with the glaze busters and it's down to the operator to get the cross hatch in, these things seem to do it automatically.

Howdy James. Awesome watching the rebuilding of this classic engine. Can't wait to see it come back together and run!
Parts on order! Very much enjoyed working on this.
Obviously in better condition than it looked. Interesting vid, I look forward to the rebuild. Be safe and be lucky.
Certainly could have been a lot worse mate cheers
Nice work. Didn't have to do the full Engine Lover restore.... Looking forward to seeing the next video.
Fortunately not
The dangle Berry brushes are good for honing, I first see them used in one of the American car channels I follow, again real interesting show buddy 👍

It's got heavy tramlines in the front bearing maybe I didn't get it on camera well. Don't congratulate me on the fuel pump until it's running!

I've probably got three of those manual drivers, cheaper to buy the whole package than a set of those big hex bits
