I’m a professional in Los Angeles. Impressive how you switched the OST to a bossanova beat, quite beautiful. My drummer is Nina Simone’s drummer, he thinks it’s beautiful too. Ganbare!!
This cover along with many of your other covers has inspired me to pick music back up after a decade and a half of denying myself what I really love. When I was younger and in school I was given the choice to continue playing music (clarinet) or to do sports. My younger hot-blooded self chose sports, but I would always be jealous watching the jazz band perform at every assembly. It's something I never really talked about to others, but I just bought my first saxophone the other day along with some textbooks and will be taking my first sax lesson soon. Thank you for reminding me about my love for music and lighting the fire underneath me that I needed to take that first step to rediscovering my passion.
Good luck with that, man. I am a Roockie Music Proffesor and I have 2 students. One is 45 years old and the other is 50 years old. You are never late to start learning music. You can do it!
The bossa nova references here are absolutely gorgeous. At around 2:01, the Corcovado line was a very welcome surprise. Superb sound as always. Consouls is amazing!!!
If my name is not telling enough- I am VERY bias about how much I love FFIV..... And Theme Of Love is my fave track from that whole game... I was not expecting this to be as amazing as it was. I have chills. well done!!
What a brilliant re-imagining which recalls for me the seductiveness of 'The Look of Love' from the original Casino Royale in 1967. So glad this goes for 6:49.
Hey guys, saw your Ocarina show at the Malthouse tonight... you absolutely killed it. Made a grown man cry from all those childhood feels. You got a new subscriber!
At first I wasn't about that increase in tempo, but I should know better than to doubt what you guys are capable of. Smooth AF cover, love the play between the piano, bass and sax and taking turns leading. And drums keeping everyone with the beats. Good stuff.
Kind of like when I didn't click on Concierto de Aranjuez for years because I doubted Jim Hall, Paul Desmond , Chet Baker, Roland Hanna, Ron Carter and Steve Gadd......Then had to listen on loop to make up for lost time. Still looping. Never doubt The Consouls!
Here's my thesis something you don't realize Two of my favorite joints; this one and Weight of the World - Nier Tim wearing the same shirt; kills it Not saying it's the shirt This is snappy as a motherfucker and any excuse for a bass solo as a rhythm section guy is much appreciated This so so sexy you guys want to make me stop being a dark knight

Wow! Glad to see these brilliant boys getting some recognition from other professionals.
1:55, Quiet Nights of Quiet Stars, "Corcovado"! I see what you guys did there! Nice tribute to Tom Jobim there!

My wife made an arrangement of Theme of Love on handbells for our wedding 10 years ago. Great tune. Cool to hear a jazz cover of it.
