I completely agree with the Any Reid comparison and the failures that he had getting a ring until he got Mahomes and as a coach had the experiences. I think what worried Bills fans is that McDermott got his Mahomes (Josh Allen obviously) while he’s still figuring it out and on top of that McDermott is a defensive mind. Josh Allen doesn’t have the time to wait for McDermott to figure it out. For Bills to win a super bowl or even get to one with McDermott as head coach he will need an elite OC opposite like Reid has in Spagnuolo to get there. That’s so hard to do with such a young coordinator. I have no doubt Joe Brady can be brilliant but it’s hard to not be concerned that in figuring all of this out we wasted Josh Allen’s prime years. On the other hand which coach is out there that we can really count on getting us over the hump. Honestly at this point with the way things are looking I would be content with getting us into the playoffs and maybe even divisionals until our cap issues are fixed.
Also this is probably a really stupid question but…. is there a world where McDermott hires a John Parry of calling offensive decisions in these moments?! He was terrible at getting challenges right so they hired someone to help can they hire a clock management advisor and which plays to allow the OC to call in these moments ?😂 this sounds so stupid but he is obviously not a bad HC. Can they hire advisors to help him with his weaknesses as a HC? Maybe less of a roll of the dice than just getting rid of him all together? I get this dumbs the true HC title.
Josh is the type of player that needs an OC to calm him down and control the sugar rush Josh. In the Houston game there were plenty of times where he had guys open underneath but instead he goes for the low percentage shot. I also never understood that if you get 8 yards on first down. Why run the ball on second. This is when you take your shot and if it don’t work than you run it on 3rd or high percentage play to get the first down.
Funny how no one mentions holding Beane accountable? He put together this very weak WR room. He brought in the disastrous, girl friend battering Miller contract. Dawson Knox making $15M a year and has 30 yards and is a non-factor!! Kincaid looks like a mid-level TE, NOT a #1 pick! Elam is a #1 bust. Taking a $32M dead cap hit on Diggs looks idiotic. I'd rather have Diggs diva act, than Curtis Samuels 50 yards!! (Plus that Viking 2nd round draft pick for Diggs is looking more like low 3rd round pick). All this team really has is ALLEN, and he's getting beat up weekly. This is at best a 9 win team... Period. Beane needs to pick up his game.... Good show!!.
Not to mention the trade for Diggs.... cough cough Justin Jefferson.... Extending Milano who's been out ever since.... Extending White who's also been nothing but injured ever since .... Basically every big contract/move hasn't worked out...
I agree but Sean is calling the shots on giving Beane the laundry list to go shopping for. Sean was guy who pushed him sign Miller because he thought all we needed was big time sack arist who was missing piece to beat KC finally. Defensive coach wants heavy draft of D players. Why we have ignored OL first couple years under his management. Why we have been lacking big time RB for years under Sean. Same with WR. We have ignored the position for years and same as drafting a back up QB. Even TE we need another dynamic guy. I mean we have Josh Allen and guy is playing with nobody again. It's a joke
Agree with most of this. Sometimes it’s 20/20. I get trading for diggs. Needed a proven commodity. But the contracts and being obsessed with character guys backfires. Not the reason but we joke at work saying- wow this guy said tiger wish he could, so funny, he has no separation but let’s take him. Let the chiefs take worthy and let’s trade back 2x for Coleman.
Josh has a completely new receiving corps.... Khalil.... The only returning WR.... Was injured during Baltimore and out during Houston.... Samuel and MVS were injured during camp.... It takes time for QBs to get the timing right with new weapons.... It took Brady a while when he went to Tampa.... It took Mahomes a while when they traded Hill.... Time on task.... Relax
Just my perception of Allen but the camera pans to him and I think oh no when his face is red and his eyes look like ones of a deer. I see some other QBs on the sidelines and never see that. Like Mahomes. Brady would get pissed and seemed to play better that way. Maybe I’m wrong but I feel like its everything when it comes to him alone.

Listening to the explanation of what the offense is missing made me think over and over that Davante Adams could really solve a lot of our issues
