- Skyrim VR deserves better than this. I have a Skyrim Mod installing habit that I cannot shake. This Skyrim video, the first in years, is my confession. downloading gun mods for fallout 4 is like that. starts out as just a couple to replace the awful pipe weapons, next thing it's taking up 80% of the load order and you have to merge plugins together to fit them all
@@burntbacn I swear every time I mod Skyrim or fallout 4 it starts out simple. Just fixes and texture replacement for ugly shit. Then before I know it, I've got 500gbs worth of mods installed.

@@HALO_NOAH_117 over the years it became financial unviable to run the mod review channel. His videos only drew enough vewiership to make decent income when he included adult mods, but youtube constantly applied strikes and/or disabled monetization on videos that did. Now that he's garnered enough sponsorship relationships via the reddit react channel, I figure he could pull it off by bypassing youtube monetization. Just don't think he's willing to risk it.

YEA, he puts way to much effort into the shoutout segment, I have watched ALL OF THEM since launch and they have all been different in a way.
You know Habie, if you use Mod Organizer 2,you can have 2 separate instances of Skyrim VR, each with their own separate mod lists and everything. So you can have one instance for RUclips compliant videos.....
And another for your more "you are now sent to the demonitization realm" mods

The thing is he's right, it does start off really innocent.
Yeah, the body textures look kinda bad, lets update them. They come with underwear, but it looks fuggly so we just uncheck the underwear option. I'm not a prude, I can handle some nudity in my games.
What's this? HDT? It makes my the weapons I have equipped jiggle when I run? How immersive!! Oh, it has an option for breast and butt physics? I mean why not!

@@lukewebb604 yeah making all the characters more modern and attractive, pretty much requires it to be "adult". But really, if you're mature, it's just kind of a whatever. Besides they're always clothed anyway, so if it bothers you just don't strip them naked lol.

@@lukewebb604 For me, it started out of curiosity and as an attempt to fight against my sexually repressed/prude upbringing. Up through to college, I had been so steeped in puritanical views that I would literally cover my screen/eyes if I saw or suspected nudity in a tv show, and I was extremely judgmental of people who didn't censor themselves like that, and even more so of anyone who would seek out anything pornographic.
Then I had a sort of existential crisis which made me start questioning and re-evaluating all of my views, and I started to peel back the layers of my repression. First, I just got a nude body replacer. I told myself that it was to expose myself to nudity to challenge my discomfort, and that was part of the reason, but honestly I think I was mostly curious, since I essentially didn't even know what naked bodies looked like apart from my own. And then when I finally had a room of my own (I grew up sharing a room), the adult modding started to snowball.
Though in my case, with time and intentionality, I've managed to strip away most of the discomfort, so I have no shame whatsoever with what I've downloaded, no matter how degenerate some might find it.

the amount of times I've downloaded a game, IMMEDIATELY look up mods, spend 5 to 8 hours installing all the coolest stuff I can find, then finally start the game to test the mods and play around for only 2 or 3 hours and then _never touch it again_ ... is, well, concerning. and it might require therapy

Those who install the adult mods, and those who lie about it.
This is how it has always been, and this is how it will always be.
Im proud to say that I managed to set up modded skyrim and make a decent playthrough and only install nude female giants and a serana romance/revoice mod.
That is of course only because I couldn't mentally bear the strain of setting up a body replacer but I mean I basically have impulse control.

What was with the black bar on Lydia? It looked like she just had the basic steel armour on, and I don't imagine Habbie to be the kind of guy to make the Honkers massive using CBBE and bodyslider.
Once you dive into the adult content, there’s no getting out without entirely uninstalling your load order and finding the good mods, because on the nexus you don’t know what shit is and isn’t adult content.
Probably CBBE-3BA armor, and the steel jiggle physics were embarrassing for him
There's mods that will allow for skimpy/practically nude versions of vanilla armor, so that might be it. Though the other guards and npcs around didn't seem to have any altered armor so idunno
I know that feeling. But that is why you use Mod Organizer 2 and just use different profiles, so you can quickly switch between them
It's a wonderful feeling when you discover a cool feature in your game and you have no idea what mod it's from

I used to play my 100% legally acquired copy of skyrim vr all the time, and I too had amassed a lot of perfectly normal mods. though I couldn't run the game very well, even with ultra low resolution and graphics.

I literally just installed SkyrimVR to play with a friend and started modding it a bit for some QOL features(Higgs, Skyui, etc.) trying to keep a clean play through lool, and it’s a lot of fun. Enjoyed the video also I agree with the mods on the nexus jeezus some be unholy

Just like make a folder to put all the NSFW mods when you are not using them then you can just take them out there folder and put it into the game when you want to use them (For immersion reasons)
Maybe rename them so you know which ones are nsfw?
wouldn't work because skyrim is a house of cards, one wrong move and you could brick your entire game.
@@rdtplays6291 mods will always be a chaotic thing, no modder can have the knowledge of what other shit goes into the player's game folder. And these are hobbyist codebases that range from perfectly side effect free to garbage accumulating scripts that will brick your save files after 10 hours

this video is too relatable. I don't think I've played skyrim vr in 3 years but I was on the nexus yesterday looking at mods. modding quickly takes you down a rabbit hole. I remember playing and finding one ugly texture, quit out, open the nexus and installing a pack of textures to address the one and while there this armor/outfit looks nice. a month later and the game is full degenerate
In all of the 17 videos where the silk brains get their monthly shaming that I have been here for, this is the first one that I am able to hear my name called out. It has taken 17 months. Worth it. Also love the videos Habie, I've loved them since you had less than 10k or 1k subs. One or the other.

My Skyrim was just horrible until my hard drive broke and now the cycle into hell has restarted.
Honestly this is just the inevitable fate of modded Skyrim in general. The Horny is just a gravity well that inescapably draws in all modded Skyrim playthroughs.
That said, this one is fond of the Tahrovin mod pack: nice and stable, lots of nice graphical changes, and even includes Legacy of the Dragonborn...plus all the adult content XD
Just here to say (probably with a thousand other people) that iron daggers is one of the slowest ways to level up smithing now, they patched smithing level exp to be based on value. It’s more cost effective to make more valuable items.

You know, about leveling smithing, at some point they changed the leveling to go off of value. So daggers are no longer the most efficient way. I believe the best way was to turn iron to gold with that one spell (forgot the name, you find it in the bandit camp north of white run. Not the one with lunar weapons), and then turn them into rings (with it without gems depending on if you have any). It’s still tedious but it will go faster for sure. You will eventually run out of iron, silver, and gold mines though. And blacksmiths only sell so much ore.

Skyrim vr can be many things for me, it can be breathtaking when hunting in the snow and looking up to see the beautiful stars and moons, it can be outraging when it just decides to crash, and it can just be neither, just alright. One of those games I play for a week straight and drop for months and then repeat.

Habie, when I finally decided to make VR content, this channel and the mods you showcased became one of the many inspirations to my channel. I wanted to do a role play immersive channel for VR games and while my premise is mostly my own, (think Quantum Leap when I switch from game to game) the meat and potatoes of my channel was a Skyrim playthrough. As of October, I released 12 episodes of Skyrim and 2 episodes of VR chat with a colab VR chat episode on the horizon with another low level youtuber. Now I don't care if I become big or not. I'm just having fun making content that I would want to see and I wanted to thank you in part for that. Granted I have been inspired by other content creators but you helped me put a focus on my channel with Skyrim being the central hub. Keep making great content and thank you for helping to inspire me to make my own.

I came across my old Skyrim folder the other day and opened it for old times' sake. Well, I spent 40 mins bug-fixing to get it to launch for old times' sake. Yep, 10 mins in and I realised I'd have trouble explaining it even to a licensed psychotherapist.

It's wild to me that there are mods to have fully functional arm collisions and bodies and yet nobody has fixed the atrocious bow and arrow glitch where the arrow is clipping like 4 inches through the string and the bow is too small so the string only draws half the length it's supposed to and just floats in the air away from your hand no matter how you draw it.
Never seen anyone that didn't have it. And i've never seen anyone who acknowledged it.

it takes time to get your eyes and brain used to it, don't try for 2 hours right away. I could spend 4-6 before my eyes start to feel tired
