One of the worst subtitles. Atleast 70 percent of the subtitles are wrong. I don't speak chinese, but I have seen enough donghua to understand that the subtitles are wrong.
why is the english subtitles so wierd? it says he/she to wrong gender, it randomly said "murder" when talking about elixers, and alot of other stuff like grammar is totally off.
I believe the subtitles are done with some kind of translation engine or with a dictionary, hence the literal translation (see: “today we’re counting money”, it would translate into English to “we’re settling accounts today”, but the Chinese expression is different). Subtitles have maintained the Chinese grammar structure (it would be “I yesterday go home” instead of “I went home yesterday” because in Chinese there are no verbal tenses, you place the action given the timeline you’re given, that’s anything time-related is always before the verbs). Also, Chinese is mostly gender neutral, so even 3rd person (“ta” even if it written different between make and female it’s pronounced the same) can be mixed up if you don’t rely on external information. If you’re using a speech-to-text translator, you’ll be given all these errors.
