- This edition of Until Dawn, adapted for players who might only have access to a 4.3-octave instrument, is slightly abridged compared to the original (2019). There are fewer difficult reaches, and thus it requires less stamina to perform; however, one can easily move between this version and the original without having to re-learn much of the piece. Although this version is abridged, I'm performing it much slower here than in my original recording - I always encourage players to come up with their own interpretation of the music.

About the piece:
Until Dawn is the first composition for 5-octave marimba that I’ve written and was the winner of the 2019 Percussive Arts Society International Composition Contest. For me, the piece is a departure from my previous works, which I consider as side projects and never serious. I have no formal education in composition, so entering a composition competition marks the end of music as a hobby, and the ‘dawn’ of studying music seriously going into my first year of university.

Just played it on a 4.3 octave, some is similar but I changed a few things. But over all awesome, and would like to look at this version
That's awesome, all in all there isn't too much of a difference between the two and if you figured out a way for yourself, all the more impressive. Don't feel like you need to play it like me, I always appreciate some variation!
