AJ had one goal in this improv play: Gaslight, Gatekeep, Girlboss
AJ new era is villain and girlboss
slay-j
FRRR
GATEKEEPING IS NOT GIRLBOSS…but AJ is
Christ
I can never get over Sam correcting the historical facts
"the republic"
"yeah"
"i ended the republic"
"there you go"
I think he has some sort of knowledge when it comes to history unlike the rest of them haha
@@user-zj8im7ei7y after all he has 1/6th of a degree in classics!!☝🏻
@@tewinkletwoesIs this from that one reply they made to a comment or is this common knowledge? 😂
@@TheUnderscore_ lmao the comment they made obv
But he's wrong too. The republic ended 17 years after Julius' death
"Don't kiss yet, make them wait for it"
*Proceeds to never kiss in the entire play*
We all know AJ and Tom make us wait for it. It’s Sam and Luke that always jump at the opportunity to kiss.
we were robbed...
One thing i wanna know, are they a couple or just comfortable kissing each other on stage?
If there a couple thats really cute, if its for the play, mad respects!
@@Kyanpepper25 they're not a couple, I think all of them have relationships outside of the group. They're just very comfortable with eachother
Lmao Sam being so strict on everyone else but then saying Poseidon's trident (Greek) would be in Jupiter's temple (Roman) without batting an eye took me out
Rest assured, Sam will be punished for this embarrassing mistake.
@@shootimpro dear lord get him out of there
@@shootimpro Hope his punishment isn't too harsh... Next to Luke, Sam is one of my favorites!
I was about to mention that 😂
Also that Julius Caesar was never emperor (but he was dictator)
"they always love power more than they love you" SAM WHERE DID THAT KILLER LINE COME FROM
Exactly like woah
Facts that was great 😂
I love how it seemed like Tom was planning on being Juliet at the start (staring out wistfully), so when Sam addressed him as Caesar he had to reboot for a second 😂 (I might be wrong but)
I think you’re right because I had the same feeling
Definitely! 🤣
No i think you're right :)
No, no, he definitely did
Nope he defo wanted to be juliet lmaooo😂
Love that They just state that Cesear can turn into a bird and never mention it again
Roman emperors were, um, a little insane a lot.
@@Ryvakenand caesar wasn’t one (I’m sorry please forgive me)
@@fatty_owls what. my whole life is a lie- how did I not realise the caesar wasn't an emperor 😭😭 and why am I learning more from sfth than I am at scl 💀
@@I_am_probably_a_person he basically had the same job as an emperor I’m just being pedantic lol the job of an emperor wasn’t a thing yet bc he was still technically claiming to be the legal republic dictator and then dictator for life but as a populares ruler bc he didn’t want to be stabbed to death by the people but then he was stabbed to death by the senate instead so it didn’t really work out and then Augustus formed the principate and imperial Rome began in around 27 BC (you probably didn’t want to know that I’m really sorry)
@@fatty_owls It's actually great to know lmao, tysm for clarifying 😀
“I hope this Horse can swim”
Sam’s look hahaha
I guess they have to cross a river to get from Rome to Verona? Isn't the Po inbetween there somewhere?
I think he mistook Verona for Venice (maybe)
You do have to cross the Po, unless you take a long detour around it, but that crossing would presumably be over a bridge for most carriage drivers
I love how Caesar and Maximilian were childhood friends and also 19 years apart in age 😭
21 years
For rich kids a lot of the time the butler is their only friend in childhood
@@SnowLily06 based off what 😂 they normally have a posse of yes men
@@ynwa9885 I genuinely thought I added "in stories typically" but somehow it wasn't in the comment so let me rephrase.
Typically in stories rich kids are depicted as lonely victims with no friends except the butler/guard.
@@SnowLily06 ah I see what you mean
This one was so incredibly funny especially the singing and kneeling😂
AJ really saved it by saying Caesar was 16 in this version because fun fact Caesar was 52 when he dated cleopatra..this took place after that
13:07 “as a man with a classics degree”….. Wait WHAT Sam has a Classics degree? And a BA in Drama? 🤔 I live for the little lore nuggets they drop in these videos 😂
He has 1/6th of a classics degree, technically, and 5/6th of a BA in Drama haha but it’s clearly more than the other two!
@@shootimpro Makes me wonder if he actually knew how many soldiers are in 5 legions then 🤣
What can't he do
😂@@shootimpro
@@skz_vgbhearts6622 Doubt xD
AJ's singing was top notch!! 🔥🔥That duet with Tom was bloody brilliant!!!
The end was pure SFTH chaos 🤣🤣
Ah yes, famously it was Maximilian who stabbed Ceaser, who's Brutus, never heard of him
I'm not sure that's quite the biggest modification made to the story of Julius Caesar here.
@alansmithee419 not sure what you're on about, everyone knows he DID actually turn into a bird.
Et tu, Maximilian
Maximilian Brutus
i loved tom shaking his head when they made singing part of his character (8:29)
the way Sam pointedly looked back at him too! 🤣
The amount of plot twists at the end😂
When in rome... everyone dies?
"Did somebody order a cab?"
I was wondering how they'd tackle the blend of two historical eras being combined and I'm delighted to find out it was through "french 16 year old Caesar (who can turn into a bird) proposes with a ring to his love, Juilet from the province of Verona, whose father died in the great war." This play would kill my friends who studided classics and empires.
I suppose this must be as terrible for a classics geek to watch as "Bobsleds and Burglary" is to a sports fan xD
From a theatre studies standpoint, I liked this one. Julius Caesar and Romeo and Juliet are both plays by Shakespeare and the drama and especially the ending was very Shakespearean xD
"Make them wait for it"
and wait we did
and it never came :,)
The biggest betrayal I ever witnessed
I felt more betrayal in those words than I did watching every single betrayal in this play….and there was a lot
8:49
I like how the audience is like "Sam's doing it again!"
And then he turns it around on them for being ignorant of the source material.
The romanticisation (as apt as the word is) of Romeo and Juliet is honestly pretty disturbing, and not just for this reason.
Now the other's don't have to sit on his shoulders again!
What was the word he said? I keep replaying but I can't quite catch it
@@josiahtaylor7967 "You are only 14" or something like that. Can't understand before that myself though so sorry if the before is what you needed.
@mrgw98 "you are only 14"
"READ THE PLAY MFERS"
@@partyponyz1239 There was something said directly before that that I can't seem to understand.
this is canon roman lore and no one can say otherwise
12:40 Sam's mischievous look and smile when testing Tom's history! 🤣
they’re killing me with these premieres 😭
edit: I waited this long just for them to not even kiss (jk i loved it)
FR LIKE PLSSS RELEASE IT NEEEOWWWWW
@@sharkobama or *at least* have a substantially shorter time till premiere. A time window this long only serves to annoy, to be honest
@@IceGoldDevfr but hey its here now!!
AJ seemms to have a bit of a recurring theme going on here, first "THIRDY! THIRDY! Thirty." from Miss Piggy's breakup letter and now here again; "BLOOD. BLOOD! Blood." 😂
22:50 I love when characters learn new information about themselves. Sam’s face says it all😂😂
I love these historical settings 😂 especially all the inaccuracies 😂
That little curl on Tom's forehead though 🥺
also: “He said it louder this time but I still didn't hear it” 😂
Why do I keep making the same mistake of getting super excited, only to realise I have to wait another week…?
Well, Juliet got what she wanted in the end! I loved the dynamic between Caesar and Juliet and all of the historical inaccuracies lol this was a great play 🔥🔥🔥
Historical inaccuracies? Whatever do you mean?… 😅
@@shootimproBLAME SAM
That ending was very Shakespearean 😂😂 I think this might actually be one of my favourite plays ever 👀
"As a man with a Classics degree I'm going to move on..." that had me rolling 😂😂😂
there were no colorful shirt so Sam decided to spice things up by showing his ✨legs✨ is what i first thought when i saw them lol
I was waiting for someone to say this 😂
who said sam can’t wear his converse with his shorts
IT'S JUST HIM
Love it! The crazy plot twists at the end, AJs singing, the cab driver, the historical mistakes and of course PISH - hilarious!!!

9:50 Sam actively trying to remember what wars have been fought in the republic before Caesar took charge xD
Shakespeare could never! 😂 Top stuff again, especially AJ's singing and Sam's classical pedantry
ANOTHER SHOOT FROM THE HIP IMPROVISED PLAY YESSS
23:36 I heard "she wants bird" even after replaying it a few times XD. Another fantastic improv play and highly appreciate Sam trying to keep it as historically accurate as possible.
Sam: Corrects and nitpicks every historical and literary aspect…
Also Sam: I am Romanian 🇷🇴
And mentions both Jupiter and Poseidon even though they're two different pantheons
8:33 Tom shaking his head 😂
The amount of people waiting for it like several days before is amazing lmao
Frrr
The one who suggested this title needs to be given an award
There are 5 people waiting for this premiere currently..... It starts in 5 days.
5 people for 5 days
You were one of them
One per day obviously
Oooohhhh, I can’t wait to watch this, looks and sounds INTERESTING. I’ll ALWAYS be excited for a new SFTH upload though, they could announce they’re gonna do a watch paint dry stream and I’ll be there because if it’s SFTH it’s BOUND to be fenomenal
Am I the only one who acts like I'm a part of their audience, and just cheer and laugh and clap everytime???
youre not alone! its more enjoyable tbh
no same here 😂 happy to know that I'm not the only one that claps 😅😂
@@davidlandlord YESSS
@@sharkobama ikrr 😭✨
I laugh loudly and clap alone in my room, my roommates outside probably think I'm a psycho but it's TOO FUNNY not too!!
AJ taking every chance to create more chaos is hilarious!! He is totally in his element ❤😂
Fun fact if you turn subtitles on at 6:02 It is described as breathtaking Italian singing
i got intense Italian singing
At the start you can tell Tom was planning on acting a Juliet, before Sam called him Cesar lol
Oh god I loved this, so historically inaccurate, Sam I feel Ur pain
Tom I feel your struggle 😂
Tom being oddly profound during improv again at around 12:15
Tom was SOOOOO ready to play another beautiful lady lol
I was just about to say that lol
This reminds me of the time my class put up a play of Caesar and Cleopatra on the titanic. It was chaotic, fun and over the top.
This was very fun, keep up the great work :)
So Juliet=Act 3 Lady McBeth, got it 😂 Actually now I wanna see someone playing Juliet as a homicidal psycho, I bet that would make a phenomenal comedy 😂
AJs singing is so impressive xD
This man gives me so much gender envy🥲
GO KING!!! BECOME AS BALD AS HE IS!!!!

Well
Actually
I have shaved my had (not only because of him but being able to cosplay sfth with my best friend was definitely a convincing factor lmao)
@@_kilimili_ my goodness I need better friends so we can cosplay SFTH 😂 (I also have a buzzcut lol)
Brilliant as always. I do get distracted wondering when the plays were actually performed… especially with Sam rocking the shorts and they all seem to have a bit of a tan 🥰
This one is from 1997. If you look closely you can see we are all about 8 years old - precocious little tykes we were 🥹
@@shootimpro 😂😂 excellent camera quality for 97 too! Amazing!
15:00 i just realized i think aj was looking over at tom's wife? 😂
Incredible work! The history, geography, and Shakespeare were amazing. I loved all the singing bits
WOW!!! My new favourite Patreon livestream and my new favourite long form all in one day?!?! This was absolutely PERFECT!! I loved every single second of this one, they all were the best they’ve ever been and I know this is one I’ll rewatch again and again. Also I bloody love when AJ sings and he sang SO MUCH in this!! He sounded PHENOMENAL!! These guys just keep getting better and better
That was absolutely amazing! The plot twists ( so many), singing and craziness had me giggling non stop!
im so in love with these plays (and aj the bloodthirsty girlboss), thank you for the laughs
i can't believe i haven't commented on this one yet!! AJ is ICONIC as Murder Empress Juliet (also love how Luke's not there to be a history nerd so Sam's taken over XD) Incredible play as always guys, can't wait for the next one !!
15:30 That one woman in the crowd “is that the wrong finger?” 😂
I’m the sort of person that never rewatches any film or series, yet I’ve already seen this play3 times and it still continues to be hilarious and fresh! Might I add that AJ is glorious in this little tale! He stole the show!! Big applause for the whole troupe 👏👏👏
This technically ended like the original stories
AJ's singing was 10/10, loved it!!
Huge Shakespeare fan here, this was magnificent. I giggled through the whole thing. Shakespeare definitely missed a beat by not having one actor play two roles and stab himself.
very much intrigued with everyone's degrees and i never know how true things are lmao bc so far i've heard tom has 2 english degrees, sam has a BA in drama and now i learn a classics degree
All true! Except Sam is blagging it a little - he did classics and drama in his first year then switched to pure drama, as far as I can remember. Tom has an English (and creative writing, i think) BA with a masters degree in Shakespeare - quiz him on King Lear, I dare you!

The corrections over the historical inaccuracies are great to see!
Loved the twist at the end. Somehow, given the source material, I did not see that coming
Ive waited so long but this comedy group never fails to miss =)
I think you mean they never miss? Or never fail to hit? 😅
I get so worried on Pip's behalf when Tom takes off his ring, ik AJ wouldn't lose it on purpose but it not fitting well while they're doing so many scenes makes me so anxious
Omg why didn't I notice before?? That's so funny!! 😂 No I get the "You have such huge fingers" comment :DDD
I love SFTH without happy endings. Reminds me of 'Lost In Your Eyes'
Absolutely stunning. Moving. Powerful. Easily my new favorite improv play from you guys
Juliet Caesar 🔥🔥 The ending with everyone dying was more like Hamlet ngl
"As a man with a classics degree I'm just gonna move along."
I suspected, but thank you for confirming. My favorite part of this has been him secretly knowing how the story should actually go. 😂
From the way AJ looks to the audience, can I assume that Tom's spouse was in the audience during the proposal? 😅
Yes! I think you can kind of see Pip around 20 minutes in house right.
Tom: BLOOOOOOOOOOOD *que the accent*
AJ: bird?
Tom: BLOOUUUUDDDDD
AJ: still bird ?
Tom: *out of accent* blood
BRILLIANT!!! Started off with the Patreon livestream and now this, my Monday is now complete
14:10 "SHUT THE F**K UP'' That's Sam for y'all.
Sometimes you just need someone to yell that for you when your neighbor who complained about your rooster crowing won't make his stupid dog stop barking at every flipping object that moves past his house
This was bloody AMAZING! I love this so much. It is gonna be one of my favorites now! Great work guys, thank you so much for another great longform!
so glad we got more AJ singing in this one it’s always my favourite bit 😭🙏
How many Plot twists do you want? YES.
I have 3 words:
Woahhhhh
Yayyyyyyyyyyy
Yippeeeeee!!!!!
I agree with this wholeheartedly!!
I like the accuracy that ceasar got stabbed, and that Juliet and her lover both die in the end. This was so hilarious to watch!
I’m so obsessed with this one oh my god they never fail to be amazing 🙏🙏
YES SFTH WILL NEVER DISAPPOINT US
Best way to end a weekend, watching a new improvised play!! Can’t wait to see them live in two weeks! ❤
Eleven days..........is a long time to wait
If you told me AJ was a professional opera singer, I would believe you 😍🤣
Oooh these lads NEVER disappoint me. I’m so looking forward to this
another day, another play, another slay 😎 my fav improv group of all time
SFTH = incredible👏🏻👏🏻
also was anyone else stressing over Tom’s wedding ring, don’t wanna lose that😂
16:05 THE HUGE GAP IN TOMS GIGANTIC RING LIKE HOW BIG THIS GUY OMG
Everyone in that audience was disappointed by the absence of a kiss
I do love the devolution into Titus Andronicus-esque violence at the end. Very Roman, perfect touch 👌
This was pure chaos and I loved every second of it (also the singing was beautiful)
This was so good! So many twists and great laughs.
This is brilliant. Perfect play and duet
I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS ONE!! Gonna be amazing, as per usual 🤣🤣
I've watched this an unhealthy amount of times. Now I just say all the lines with them. AJ's singing always has me dying.
I'm so intrigued by the D&D figures...
WOOOOOO
THIS WAS AMAZING
(Im gonna do Latin homework while rewatching this lmao)
