i live in Tennessee in a beautiful land of green rolling hills and horses. i am also in the sunset of my life battling kidney cancer im in stage 4 . I have decided to enjoy with my mind those things i have always loved but am no longer able to do physically. I have always had a plan of learning and enjoying sailing the world but it never came to fruition. I am also a musician and enjoy playing my guitars much as you do your violin. Music is something i cant imagine life without. I really enjoy listening to your playing music in your videos. this particular background music was so beautiful in Spain! i really enjoy your channel and its readily becoming one of my favorite sailing channels. Thank you for sharing so many beautiful experiences. You have made me feel young again! enjoy life to the fullest each and every day. life seems so short...
Dear lord, reading this just as Maya plays the violin, with that classic saudade/melancholia that accompanies all brazillian music, I teared up bigtime. I just wish you're either doing as good as possible or, at the very least, finally at peace and sailing the neverending seas of wherever you are. And thank you Maya for that beautiful interpretation as well as this marvelous channel.
Wonderful episode. Port Mahon figures prominently in many of the wonderful Patrick O’Brian Aubrey/Maturin novels. Love the Sandy Bull tune you end the episode with!
Isn't it wonderful that there is a social media that will allow you to share your talents and achievements all over the world with those who thrive on them. You are a violin virtuoso AND a fantastic fiddler! I am also looking forward to seeing Aladino's skills as a shipwright!
Once again you have tugged at my heart strings! Someone with tour talent must not only be beautiful, as you are, but also must have a beautiful heart. Thank you.
I came across this Channel yesterday. Could not get enough of it and watched all 14 chapters. You 2 make a great duo. Aladino is the mind. Maya is the heart. And you both have a really special channel here. Keep it up. Work hard these next few winter months, but enjoy your time in beautiful Switzerland as well. Hope to see you back in the water soon. Oh, BTW, congratulations on the marvelous music you guys choose. Really something special.
Stuart, thank you so much for this and every one of the lovely comments you left us. I am so happy that you've enjoyed our videos. It brings me great happiness to know that they can entertain and resonate with you. I wish you all the best, and I'm sure we will talk again in the comments section of future episodes!
I have to say, each time you release a video,it's even better than the last👏👏 Your"rap" session, which I'd prefer to call poetry in this case was very cleverly composed, and equally beautifully delivered, your voice is like music to my soul☺️ What a wonderful spectacle all the very well kept older boats, hats off to those caring for them to keep them in the water👍 I was sure you had a piece up your sleeve to play on your fiddle, and you didn't disappoint,Thankyou for all you put into making these videos, see you next time⛵️😊
Wayne Doeblin Hi Wayne, thanks so much for the lovely comment. And YAY, I actually wrote this piece intending for it to be ‘poetry’ rather than ‘rap,’ but I guess the definition of what it is isn’t all that important. I’m just so glad you liked it!
WOW! Thank you Maya and Aladino for sharing your lives with us. There is something so genuine about both of you, I’m glad I found your videos to enjoy during our quarantine, it’s brought joy during a difficult situation.
Just when I think about settling into another comfy eppy, you change it up Maya! I absolutely love your creativity here and you never cease to amaze. Why you two aren’t the number one channel is beyond me, a cut above! Bryan from Vancouver
Fantastic video.....I have always had a problem seeing so many nice things and not owning any of them puts me in a reflective mood...your playing your violin soothed this beast in me...Thank you...
Wow. I have been fiddling for four years and this is really inspiring to me. Its so easy to get stuck in the rut of always playing the same stuff and this has really inspired me to be more creative with playing because thats obviously more fun. You are my new musical role model💖💖
Hey Jennifer -- wow, thank you for commenting! It's wonderful to hear that you're a fiddler as well! I know how easy it is to get stuck into one style of playing, especially with the violin. There aren't a whole lot of "alternative" violin role models out there, so it's pretty easy to just stick with classical or celtic fiddle styles. But there's a whole world out there, including improvisation and all sorts of exciting stuff. If you've got questions or want to chat more about different musical options, just let me know!
Maya, so talented, beautiful, intelligent and articulate. You bring light. Great couple. Great Adventure. Don't ever stop. It wouldn't be fair. Separately does anybody remember Russell Crowe's violin playing in Master and Commander?
Really amazing music, very professional photography, and editing, your skills and passion for life your love for music and a passion for beautiful places filled with history and intrigue, is totally captivating love watching your videos thankyou
Ahh Maya you look so beautiful, that skirt looks incredible on you. I hope you are (were) feeling as relaxed and at ease as you look in these clips. I loved your choices of music, as per usual! Love to you both
Ava Mundy Awww Ava, thank you so much!! I was feeling pretty darned grateful to be there. Back in Switzerland for the winter now tho!! Much love, hope I get to visit Canada again soon and catch up!!
Now you need to write a song about Magic Carpet... like John Denver did for Calypso! All well found vessels should have a song written about them. Especially those that were rescued from the scrap heap! Music and vocals!
Very enjoyable and poignant ‘rap’ there. Always enjoy piano. The views along the harbor are outstanding. They beg one to come visit. I just must say, more fiddle. Haha. Great entertaining content. Thank you
Brian Joyce Thank you so much, I am SO glad you enjoyed the little poem I wrote -- I have to admit that I was a anxious to see the reaction to it, I wasn't 100% sure if people would like it or not. Very glad you did! And did you not watch 'til the end?? There's some violin! ;)
Thank you for sharing! Love your work and dedication to putting out exceptional videos. There is just something about your music that just resonates from within. 😊
You two are such a treat to watch. Glad you had another wondrous day exploring. The Canadians and Swiss should be in charge of everything’ 😄 especially these days.
Another beautiful video, well done both of you. And now I've watched all your videos over the past three days, so I'll look forward to the new one coming next. Be safe 🙏🏻
I was practicing my lap steel guitar but decided to take a break when I saw that your video was posted. Next thing I know I'm jamming with all the great music. Thanks and God bless.
these are by far the best travel videos ive seen.you are both multi talented. and im pretty sure appreciated anywhere you turn up. you are a handsome young couple and exude happiness. any gathering of people in the world will welcome you. and kudos on the fiddle. and you do have a soothing voice. safe sailing and the best for you in the future.
Wonderfully evocative. A treat once again. Having only recently visited Mahon it was a particular pleasure to see it again through your eyes ... hugest congratulations on your creativity ... proud to be among your Patreons 👍🎉🥂⛵️🇪🇸
Roy Clare Hi Roy, thank you so much for this comment. I’m so sad we missed you in Mahon, but we hope to catch up with you in the Med next summer! And of course, thank you a million thank yous for supporting us so generously via patreon. We appreciate your support more than we can say.
Aladino, we need to hear more of your thoughts. Do you have concerns with the repairs on the stern and port side especially in rough weather? What are your points of inspection regarding those areas? What conversations have you had with other cruisers regarding Magic Carpet's 'rescue'? Your boat looks like it would fit right in with the classics. Celtic music played on a violin while sailing on a sailboat. On a boat that was saved from the jaws of death by a brave and determined craftsman who saw that the heart of the boat was still beating. Heroic! Surely there is some Celtic song on such a motif. Salute from N. California!
Oh, Maya, you almost got Yelled At, LOL! I didn't THINK you'd leave us without a song, But, .... Sounds like a melancholy gypsy. It's Not Magic Carpet without your violin..
Well Maya you have managed to surprise me, I think that congratulations are in order. You are like a great photographer that sees beyond the surface, composing the subject with meaning. The overall video is relevant to the location and circumstances. A real pleasure to watch, you are a well match couple, complementing each other. I have loved to sail all my life and you add another dimension seen by very few. Looking forward to more of your magic, hi from Louisiana. By the way the music you play has feeling.
Wow, thank you so much for such a beautiful comment, it brought me a lot of joy to read! I'm so happy you enjoy the way we express ourselves on the channel. With gratitude -Maya
Your selection comes from a beautiful film "Orfeo Negro" which won the Gold Palm at the Cannes Film Festival in 1959. If there is a way for you to see it, do so.
Maya, there’s no doubt in my mind that you majored in music while at university, is that a yes? You & Aladino are true artists in every sense of the word.
Fantastic Video through out. So tastefully done, both visually and audibly stunning. Great content! This is definitely one of my favorite channels now. Keep it up.
jim E Thank you SO much for this uplifting comment Jim!! We are both so grateful that you found our channel and are able to get some enjoyment from it. See you in our upcoming episodes!
I found you while searching another ... Watched all 14 episodes and loved them, keep them up, good look with the winter. The very best of luck from Ireland !
Bob Gabbett Thank you so much Bob!! We may plan a few meetups this winter - it’d be AMAZING to meet some of our subscribers! We have a standing offer for patrons to visit us on pur boat when we’re in their area, but it’d be fun to do a few formalized events as well. We will have to see how it goes!! Thank you so much for watching, we really appreciate it.
I don't think it's rap. It's more like poetry set to music. Very beautiful, creative and original. You are a beautiful couple living your dream. Best wishes and happy sailing.
This reminded me of the couple of days I spent in Menorca, and my strolling and admiring those boats at the end of the Regatta in 2017 (I think). Funny, your video somehow made my own memory sweeter :) Did you get to see the Grau natural park and the islands close to there?
Dear Lady I do not have the words to express my feelings after your words and playing... Thank you...

I am a friend of Geo & Fernanda in Mexico & loved your video playing with Geo...
Now I find out on top of everything else you’re a poet. OMG
Coming late to the series and anxious to spend the time catching up. Love the music and the poetry of the narration.

Wow! You have a beautiful talent. Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely fantastic poem! The beat and the temperature were spot on. The prose relevant and touching.
Another great video I really appreciate the older timber work on these boats. Nothing rides like a timber boat power or sail. Thanks for sharing.
“Taking a little artistic license with narration” - beautiful.

All the amazing eye candy of those beautiful boats and Maya was still turning heads walking down the dock. Very nice video.
A new twist on sailing & travel videos...excellent.

Hello Maya, that was beautiful !!!!!! OUTSTANDING !!!!!!!!
Fantastic video.....I have always had a problem seeing so many nice things and not owning any of them puts me in a reflective mood...your playing your violin soothed this beast in me...Thank you...
The way you mic your violin is lovely. Sounds absolutely fantastic.
I can only imagine how beautiful your music must sound over the anchorage, but I do know it in enjoyed. Another wonderful video, thank you.
Taking liberties with the narration? Was it poetry, or a rap (why not both)? It was more like a masterpiece! Encore!
"Manhã de Carnaval", brazilian music beautifully performed. Thanks, from a brazilian guy.
Maya is a great writter, whether its song lyrics, stories, or video narration.

A great piece of poetry to start. Well done!
Loved the classic boat show and musical accompaniment.
Jim Allen glad you enjoyed Jim! I had fun choosing the music for that part of the video.

Jim Allen working on it!!
Beautiful violin play.
I am impressed!
I am watching this with a heavy heart, as it is the last place my dear late wife and I holidayed from the UK!

nice song with beautiful voice
Your selection comes from a beautiful film "Orfeo Negro" which won the Gold Palm at the Cannes Film Festival in 1959. If there is a way for you to see it, do so.
Now that I read your intro I see ‘rap’ mentioned. This is rap at its best. Well done. And YOUSE have a nice day too!
Maya, there’s no doubt in my mind that you majored in music while at university, is that a yes? You & Aladino are true artists in every sense of the word.
