This makes me think about what it must have been like for the initial players of the massive cathedral pipe organs as they explored the tones and dynamics of that technology and the aural spectrum provided by those massive spaces.
Excuse my guitar noobness, but it sounds like a swell but you don't seem to be using a pedal. Is it the effects that are taking the attack off the guitar chords/notes? Love the track btw. Mood is amazing.
Would you ever be willing to post like a lesson video showing how you make such great atmospheric and ambient sounds? I am looking to buy the Earthquaker Afterneath pedal to add with my Boss RV-6 and MXR Carbon Copy Deluxe. Any tips would be appreciated.
I wish someone would do more "mood" and "ambient" or "trance" music with verbally inspiring vocals (I have found some that do exist, but very few that I truly like). Maybe if I was on LSD or something, I could appreciate these more. I, honestly, cannot listen to this straight melodic sound and feel anything. To some, the sound likely creates its own lyrics, and associated memories but to me....I get nothing. I need visual stimulation or verbal inspiration. Beautiful music, Andy, just not a huge fan of this and closely related genres with straight up noise. Anyone have ANY IDEAS of some good trance music like Garth Emery WITH lyrics like "Waiting", even acoustic renditions by Emma Hewitt, Christina Novelli, without the dance vibe of Emery are beautiful.
Hello Mr Othling, can I request something?? Could you use a bigsby telecaster on your next video, i want to hear its quality of tone coming from you with all those effects, I’m a huge fan of yours, shout out to me and a happy birthday 🎁🎈🎊 thanks ❤️
the lack of structure and melodic line.. really is showing after a while its all at first wow.. this is great im smoking weed and it sound like im flying.. well ive been flying for quite a while now.. maybe you can bring us on the ground and show some more traditional songwritting chop.. it would be refreshing to see you have some.
“Shimmer” type verbs are kind of played out at this point. Them and volume swells are to ambient/post-whatever music in 2019 what two hand-tapping was to metal in the eighties: a cliche. You have a lot of creativity which is wasted on this time. Shimmer verb is the go to lazy sound that every bedroom ambient noodler dials up and thinks they are breaking creative boundaries despite the original dreampop bands of the late eighties and early ninties having already made amazing songs incorporating such sonic territory (and with far less equipment).
He's actually a good and competent guitarist. Do the work and find out what else he's done. Also this may not be your cup of tea, but he's one of the most recognized in the ambient scene, and for good reason.
this is about dynamics i guess
The King of ambiental

I like the way that you’re always searching for new ambient textures. Really like this one.
you should know this is helping me feel better
it helped me feel better too.

@@AndyOthling my pleasure dude. Your music is amazing
This is pure ear magic
i really enjoyed my time hearing it
Just...so great.
Thanks for being the exact reason I want a mood--not even sure I need one, but goddamn, I vibe with this!
it's really good, man

Awesome man 🤙

I love
Pick drop recovery. Album title?
Have you looked at the current run of "Turn your guitar into an organ" pedals from EHX Andy? 'Cause you really don't need one.
yeah i guess i like doing it the hard way
actually i'm just being lazy i think
How did you get that octave up awesomeness towards the middle? The dark work again?
What is the order of your pedals? (Volume?) Compresser (Volume?), Fuzz, Dark World, ?, Wombtone, Thermae, ?, Mood, ???
Andy Othling: The Last Wizard
(Because this is sonic magic)
andy why the hell are you the best at guitar?
Do you run a stereo effects loop? I was looking at a lot of heads and combo amps and it seems like none of them have stereo loops. Sounds great!
i don't use effects loops
Your videos have likely sold many a Matchlesss.
I dont understand that comment, nothing here show what the Matchless sound like
Eric Filsinger He almost akways uses Matchless. For a REALLY long time. Dunno why that's difficult to understand
@@thebreakfastmenu WTF does that mean? He could be playing any amp here, the Matchless tone is not
well represented imo.
Eric Filsinger No idea why you're trying to argue. Andy has used Matchless a long time. Go try to argue with someone else if you're that bored.
Eric Filsinger get a life

Why would it matter? Once you are going though many delays and octave pedals you lose the signature guitar sound
I’ve been wondering cuz I’m a newbie yo delay and octave effects, i dont know much about this but it sounds like heaven
@@price3410 As long as you have clear sounding single coils, the guitar type is not going to matter that much
All my guitars have hambucker pick ups
Well i guess i could still find it in a bigsby telecaster
Hi and thanks. That is beautiful. Forgive my last comments please.
you're good man. appreciate you watching!
Verbzilla?

シンセサイザーでいいんじゃね
I could do the same thing without the Mood
awesome dude
'great story, bro'
What kind of incense are you burning?
nag champa
i love your' dynamics but i think the band at my church does it better.. great video!
you might get roasted here but just know that i love it
How about we all pretend that this was just being ironic or sarcastic or something we can all laugh at and move on
@@AndyOthling oh, i migh get roasted? i think you mean persecuted! do you'r worst

This comment is completely pointless and pretentious. That is all.
