Bingo. She has such an essential goodness that comes through no matter the song or genre and she always makes you feel something. Yes we hear her voice but we also experience it in a way that really is unique.
As you've surmised, it's her emotive capabilities that's also out of this world. For example, this impressive AF 😁 display of Sohyang "flexing" isn't even my personal top ten best of Sohyang's performances. That's how consistent and good she is. I only have to weigh other factors, such as the melody or the song itself among other things, and ofc, the emotional connection. Having said that, yeah, what a stamina monster! 😵

Sohyang is a healing singer. I've been reduced to tears so many times by her songs (the kind of tears that purge and cleanse your soul). I still listen to many of her songs when I'm down and I needed a healing, solid ugly cry.

You will notice that she has the same blue dress. From what I know of Sohyang. She could probably sing such strenuous songs at least 5 times. Park Ki Young, So Hyang's best friend that's not even recognized as top 3 female singer by the Korean people ( only because there are so many choices of amazing singers not even including the thousands of Kpop idols ) can wipe the floor with your karaoke singers that don't have the creativity to arrange or make the covers their own but sing exactly like the original. Bingo. She has such an essential goodness that comes through no matter the song or genre and she always makes you feel something. Yes we hear her voice but we also experience it in a way that really is unique.
As you've surmised, it's her emotive capabilities that's also out of this world. For example, this impressive AF 😁 display of Sohyang "flexing" isn't even my personal top ten best of Sohyang's performances. That's how consistent and good she is. I only have to weigh other factors, such as the melody or the song itself among other things, and ofc, the emotional connection. Having said that, yeah, what a stamina monster! 😵
I also consider her Dream performance not in my top 10, although it's in my top 20. That being said the ending is epic. You are right about her emotive ability. Her songs like Dear Love, As I live, Where are you, Everyone and Fate will have people sobbing. Take care.

Sohyang is a healing singer. I've been reduced to tears so many times by her songs (the kind of tears that purge and cleanse your soul). I still listen to many of her songs when I'm down and I needed a healing, solid ugly cry.

From what I know of Sohyang. She could probably sing such strenuous songs at least 5 times. Her toughest song is Everyone, and it is a 7+ minute song. Sohyang herself said that that song is toughest because of the breathing involved.

Obviously you named lots of Filipino singers. Park Ki Young, So Hyang's best friend that's not even recognized as top 3 female singer by the Korean people ( only because there are so many choices of amazing singers not even including the thousands of Kpop idols ) can wipe the floor with your karaoke singers that don't have the creativity to arrange or make the covers their own but sing exactly like the original. Go to any karaoke bars and you will find great singers.
