This is very neat! I have to replicate a painting for a school project and I want to to be good so I’m doing some research. Though it does take lots of practice. Thanks
Thank you :-))) Yes, painting is a skill that requires a lot of practice, experience AND patience...but it still is a skill that can be learned, like any other craft (from the technical side of things - to go beyond you need to have ideas, phantasy and the will to try and fail sometimes miserably ;-)))
Thank you! But it really boils down to the time you spend in front of your easel...talent accelerates the learning process. But without months, years of practice no one will get really far.
Thank you :-))) I spent years practicing - nothing, no program, no teacher can replace the time you spend alone on the drawing board. But watching tutorials and/or attending classes will help you definitely to reach your goals a lot earlier :-)
This is a great video. I just found your channel and I find it interesting, educational with so much to learn. Thanks for showing us different things. I’m looking forward to paint a small landscape. Thanks so much! Blessings and take care. New subscriber!
Thank you Crisalida :-))) People complain sometimes that I do too many different things on my channel but I think there is sooo much variety in topics one can paint that it would be a shame if I would not try to venture in all kinds of directions. Although I have to admit that I very often come back to cloud and water topics...these are my favourite topics to paint and the people also seem to prefer these topics ;-)))
The technique is awesome ... I hate to see it wasted on trees, lakes, and reflections. I hope this guy has a wild mind that lets his talent run amuck on the canvas.
Thank you so much :-))) I paint anything I feel to, no matter if portraits, clouds, water etc. - so don`t be afraid, I`m not wasting my time only on painting lakes and tree reflections ;-)))
Thank you! At the beginning you should practice to draw A LOT. And then you can sprincle in some colour mixing practice (cut out some colour our of a journal and try to mix it as best as possible). Then you can try simple compositions and practice shape and colour on these smaller and simpler paintings. I would recommend you to start with oil paint...if you are serious and need the time to blend you will not make it with acrylics, oils are far easier to work with.
Thank you :-) I use water mixable oil colour solely thinned down with linseed oil. Links to the materials I have in the description box of the video on RUclips.
@@brennerfineart thank you so much for your response can you please tell me where you selling your paintings? And which one is best acrylic painting or oil painting? ( Sorry for grammer mistakes ) 😭
The blue one? Been a long time....Not really sure but as I use the same 7 colours for all paintings I would say this is a mixture of Titanium White, Phthalo Blue, Cadmium Red, Raw Sienna and perhaps a hint of Lamp Black
These was a set of cheap ebay brushes from China bought here in Germany...the set is currently not available apparantly...size 0 to 4/0...but any other soft round brush of that size will do the job as well
That is one of the secrets when it comes to painting in a realistic way ;-))) Keep up the patience and you will succeed - even if it is VERY hard sometimes :-////
Hi Hina, I used Phtalo blue, titanium white, lamp black and Cadmium red medium for this greyish blue tone. AND good news for you - The clear water wave painting that we were talking about a while ago is FINALLY finished and the video showing how to paint clear wave water will be coming next Sunday :-))) Hope you will like it :-)))
I`m using here Winsor&Newton water mixable oil colours (link you will find in the description box of the video). I am bascially using my "standart palette" consisting of titanium white, lemon yellow, cadmium red, raw sienna, phthalo blue, dioxazine purple and lamp black. I mix e.g. all the greens just with lemon yellow and phthalo blue adding more colours when I need a warmer/colder/lighter/darker green tone.
Please my teacher please I want to ask if I can paint the same of your painting and sell it to the people is there any problem?? maybe some one tell me it's not my painting it's yours some thing like this .that time I must learn to paint my own painting.. please if you can just explain it for me
To be honest - I am not a fan of people copying my work and selling it as their own work. Or would you like me to copy YOUR work and sell it? Come up with ideas of your own...practice hard...and then sell those paintings - this is much more rewarding because you sell not just a copy of someone else, you sell a part of yourself, a part of your imagination - MUCH better :-))))

The water is simply just reflecting what we have in the sky - and as we have a pretty cloudy sky I need to reflect this into the water. There is no rule that water gets automatically darker the closer you get to the foreground. The objects, trees, people etc. THEY will have more contrast...less of the colour of the sky in the shadow areas - do not mess this up :-)

@@jecacava8823 I meant that you should not get it wrong when you paint water! Water is not per se darker the closer you step towards the viewer - that was my point.
