Please keep making these videos, John. I love them. They’re always so useful. GIS software fees like a jungle, and your videos help give me ideas of what to explore (or plagiarize) next.
Hi. You sir are crazy. I just found about you through Reddit and have scavenged the internet looking at eveythjng you have done in GIS. The style packages for Pro? Like… this is crazy. This changes so many things in creating aesthetically pleasing thematic maps for me. Thank you for this. Thank you for being in this space and providing all this free knowledge.
I'm picturing you doing this for the paper cut style file I've stolen that I use on my fire progression maps! btw...everyone loves it. I've even had other GIS fire people reach out and ask how I did it. I just point them straight to all your styles! (everyone loves the 'my precious' the most)
You may have already done this somewhere, but can you tell us the specs for your computer system. Some of your examples seem to tax my computer. Pro 2.8 gave me no problems, 2.9.2 on the other hand seems to have trouble with symbology changes. Not sure if it's the software or the hardware, but program crashes are not fun. Your videos however are awesome. Thanks.
sorry you're having trouble. sometimes i do a fair amount of sitting and waiting while watching a blue ring spin around. usually 3D though. i have a dell precision 5530. it has 32GB ram and in intel core i7-8850h processor. i have an upgraded video card, an nvidia quadro pro.
follow the Warren Davison link in the description, that's good stuff. also this link from me: www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/products/arcgis-pro/mapping/chevalier-shade/

Looks a lot like coffee stains to me.
